  1. In all seriousness, I cannot see that happening. WNW is consistently in the Top 20 most visited Water Parks in Asia and VRTP will not be willing to lose that. Of a certainity the parks needs serious reinvestment its just a matter of when and what that looks like. Lets hope that it is soon, because if Whitewater World steps up their game and continues to reinvest and refurb, then WNW is going to look like the very poor cousin indeed.
  2. I agree with your points DJ, but wouldnt it have been easier to remove the posts that caused the issue and simply place them in the Chit Chat forum in the first place? That way the members who posted the original comments can see where the posts have gone to with out simply removing it, therefore nullifying some of the angst of just deleting at all?
  3. Seconded!!!! I will go as far to say cockwomble!!
  4. *shrugs* one mans rubbish is another mans treasure. I found that this document had quite a bit of interesting detailed information contained within. I am sure there will be other like minded people out there as well.
  5. This is an interesting document- it details the Environmental impacts of the DA that the park is pursuing. It gives a comprehensive window to the effects of the establishment of what the DA is trying to allow on Lavender Green from a Heritage, Acoustic and Visual impact- from the Park's point of view of course. Happy reading!! Statement of Environmental Effects_Lavender Green_31Jan2020v2.pdf
  6. Yeah its a nice idea and thought but to put it bluntly, will not happen.
  7. Agree here 100% Spotty. If the parks are able to forge ahead with their expansion plans, this will give greater motivation for the public to come back and visit the parks as soon as practically possible. Plus , what a great selling point for both parks- 2 new roller coasters to ride and being built in a post COVID -19 lockdown world. I know as soon as they open, I will certainly be looking at a trip to come and ride the latest and greatest. This can only be seen as a positive sign that these plans are still going to occur and I think that the management of both parks realises this.
  8. I know right- its the exact thing that social distancing is trying to promote!! If the carpark was full, then his posts would have some validity......but as it stands its nothing more than a rant.
  9. Local independant councillor Ian Mutton has also weighed in on the new proposal with his community newsletter. Please find it below: https://www.ianmutton.com/2020/04/21/north-shore-community-newsletter-19-luna-park-lavender-green-development-application/ It would appear that Ian or one of his team is a reader of Parkz as the newsletter mentions the "procurement of an SC2000 Spinning Coaster" on the Pitt and Sherry site ( which incidentally can no longer appears to be found ) and also the recent markings in the Maloney's Corner indicating workings of some description He hypothesises that a new coaster is set to be installed in Maloney's Corner with the kids rides being moved to Lavender Green. Looking at the evidence at hand, I do not think that he is far off the mark here. It would make sense for LPS to attempt to clear some room for a kids section and the movement of these small rides to the Lavendar Green area would seem a logical choice. It remains to be seen if this is agreed upon and the proposal is approved.
  10. Here is the Heritage Impact Statement from the proposal. C_Heritage Impact Statement-1.pdf
  11. Lets hope its really good news- news that I have been waiting quite a while to hear!!! šŸ˜Ž
  12. Yeah you are 100% right mate. I thought that they were different when I last visited in January 2019 and that the set up was slightly different to the ride at Dreamworld. I thought that when the unit at Dreamworld had been installed it had been fully enclosed with perspex ( perhaps someone on here had posted??), but looking at their unit it does not appear so. Below is my shot of the LPM unit and it does indeed have the perspex installed.
  13. Yeah this is nothing new. Reported on the Starflyer in December when it opened The Zamperla Powered Coaster Silly Serpent was removed way back in August- reported here Its good they are changing things up a bit- but we are still waiting on that 2nd Coaster! I believe this version is superior mate- there is no perspex over the bars so it is at least much cooler than Dreamworld's for the little munchkins!!
  14. All good mate..I was skimming quickly and it looked like not unreasonably that your comment was referring your below quote. Cheers for clearing it up.šŸ‘
  15. Yeah ok. Not sure why he stated that above the quote for LPS shutting down though. That seems a bit misleading. Possibly should have been clearer in the intent if he was drawing comparison. All good.
  16. Think you will find that will be for functions that have already been booked- weddings etc as long as they fall under the current guidelines. All shows have been cancelled at the Big Top.
  17. Go easy eh?? This level of moronism is seldom acheived. I bet he is real fun at parties though!!!! šŸ˜‚
  18. Depends on how you look at it doesn’t it? They are our biggest parks for sure, but if you add up all the smaller parks in the other states (including Aussie World) then they are very much in the minority. Whilst the GC is the hub for amusement parks in Australia- our Orlando if you will- it’s important to note that the amusement park industry is not just GC centric. Our smaller parks are an important part of the amusement park landscape in Australia, let’s not forget the important part they play as well as the bigger players.
  19. Yeah I was taking the family for the first time in years- was also going on the first weekend!! Have already booked accommodation but hadn’t bought any RES tickets which is a good thing. Looks like we will be looking for something else to do in Sydney that weekend!! Huss it’s a shame for you guys- the RES is your biggest show!! I was looking forward to seeing all the ride companies best offerings come together this year!! LPS hasn’t said if they are closing yet ( however LPM have voluntarily closed for 2 weeks) do you know if they had any traveling rides scheduled for the school holiday period? I think it’s only a matter of time before we see a similar announcement from LPS, however.
  20. This!!! This is a key point that needs greater awareness and wider spread dissemination amongst the public.
  21. Cheers mate..yep it certainly does help!! Great info thanks for sharing. Good to see you are still on the boards too....I have missed your contributions mate!!
  22. Interestingly enough, just recieved an email update from Parksavers on the effects of the Coronavirus on the 6 Disney theme park properties around the world. There is some sound advice here but there is also opportunity for those who wish to take the risk and visit the US Disney parks at the same time. Visiting the Orlando resort may see the lowest attendance for some time due to the virus outbreak. I know when we visited in 2017, we went in the middle of Hurricane Irma. Virtually every ride was a walkon ( including Seven Dwarves Mine Train !!) - it was such a great experience. It is all going to come down to your personal thoughts on the risk of travelling at this time.
  23. Yeah that was my line of thinking when examing the pics. The lines run directly to service access points as seen in the photos we provided. I was not naive enough to think they were footer markings or even ride positioning but its very curious to see that they are locating these services in this location. Something is definitely happening , and we will have to wait and see if it actually is attraction related.
  24. Yeah thats what I was going to say as well. This area has not had any work done to it since the park reopened in 2004 so the markings are definitely indicative of SOMETHING being done. I am not an expert on what work they are meant to indicate, but it is certainly very interesting and this area should become a hotspot for activity and to keep a close eye on. Couple with this turn of events is the fact that the park recently closed their Mystery Manor attraction and indicated that their next attraction will be in this space. As i said before, this is a decent sized space and this COULD be a very decent sized attraction, if it is indeed one at all. Yeah mate we stayed at the North Sydney Harbourview on Saturday night and we walked down and through the park to catch a ferry to Circular Quay. I saw these immediately and wondered what they meant!! Interesting and we will have to look at developments very closel over the next couple of months!!
