  1. ^^ Comparing this to your RSL to a theme park is a bit of a stretch, but do they also provide rides and attractions? Their main revenue stream is food... But that's besides the point. Gazza has it spot on, though -- Although producing a discovery pass takes a tiny bit longer than a VIP pass for the system.
  2. $150 for 3 parks for a year is still pretty cheap, compared to prices only 3 or 4 years ago. It's still at least (if not more) than 50% off. You deserve a hard pass when you begin paying premium prices for passes, which is not in the foreseeable future.
  3. It's been getting sold since Monday. Just posting in case anyone is interested and hasn't seen it. https://themeparks.com.au/box-office/combo-pass/discovery-passport.aspx Edit: Just wanted to mention that although it is a big jump (From $100 ($110) passes to $150 ($160)), it's good to finally see the cheap passes being phased out (hopefully)...
  4. Yeah, I thought they did a good job in making it look like a sort of New-York-Style Cafe. Although I don't like how it has taken over the perspective alley.
  5. I'm quite surprised at everyone complaining on the Facebook about health and safety issues regarding the number of people in the park... It seems to me as if one person posted something about it so everyone else who had some sort of problem with the night caught on and decided to post about H&S too.
  6. I think I kept standing in front of you. Sorry.
  7. Movie World adds another White Christmas with Tuesday and Wednesday nights approaching capacity... http://movieworld.com.au/white-christmas/overview.aspx
  8. Yeah, it's $10 extra at the gate, so obviously VIPs online are going to $110 and at the gate to $120. Who knows.
  9. I like the ad (more-so than I did the Fright Night ad) and I think it definitely gets the message across that this is a family event (and glad that it says bookings for VIP Gold are essential...).
  10. Here's the email I go from Myfun back when renewals were starting again: And I know, for a fact, that normal VIP passes were $89.99 for renewal too. EDIT: And also, last year, VIP passes were $109.99 ($119.99 at the gate), not $99.99. And Gold was an extra $30, so $139.99 online or $149.99 at the gate.
  11. The renewals were the same as the standard pass renewals? (And $10 cheaper than buying a new pass)?
  12. Locals only, no Fright Nights was included.
  13. Yes, that's what I'm saying. I know many people will agree with me on this forum about returning to the era-before-VIP-passes, but I also know that the general public will go nuts. Obviously there'd need to be a transition, but people are complaining this year after they weren't able to get the buy 3 get 1 free anymore... Oh noes! It cost $99 for just under a year to 3 parks...
  14. Raise entry prices, lower food and beverage prices, then I assure you everyone will complain about the price of entry.
  15. Seems like a few people are pretty angry at the price hike. Someone posted this on Facebook:
  16. Where exactly did you get this information from... Randy?
  17. It'll express that it is your opinion, but I'd still be disappointed, or angered (not quite sure which word I should use), by your ignorance. You've got to be pretty ignorant to see all water slides as the same when there are clear distinctions in the experiences and sensations that are provided by different water slides.
  18. Nope, it's a new thing. Any loose items that fit into the boxes are allowed to be taken through.
  19. Not related to food, but more related to 'quality' of a pass/still prices. I've noticed quite a few people complaining about the price of VIP passes and the value for money on the Facebook pages (and in at the parks). Just noticed this one: Name Removed If its a VIP pass then why do me n my kids hav to wait in line for a hour @ a time to ride one of yur rides..monies worth yeah..getn 3 rides in per visit is bully bull..
  20. So I guess the Hydrocoaster is the same as Aqualoop? Or the same as the Tornado? Each slide has different elements, as Gazza said, and these elements make each slide unique. There are so many different 'products' offered by slide manufacturers, each with their own different feature and I believe that even Wet'n'Wild at its massive size still has many possible new rides that could be constructed. Wyncenuros, I just think you're being ignorant. I dislike shows and don't see the point in watching one of them more than once, but do I randomly state in a topic that "I hate shows" without adding anything to the discussion regarding the topic?
  21. Something to note is that although you can just hold the trigger down to keep shooting, doing so does not actually act as a 'shot'. I noticed with my gun you do have to press, release, press, to keep shooting and have it 'work' on the target. Makes the game fairer, IMO.
  22. I'll be there for the first one. I can't wait!
  23. Most of the JL fans/comic fans I've spoken too are excited to ride this ride.
