Hi guys, for those who don't know, the turbo is out near Fox Studios along with a few other rides to the 31st Jan. I took a trip out there with my brother to get a ride on this apparent god-like ride. Two friends of mine, Dave and Huss Rainbow (Chris) hyped me up about this ride, but I had my doubts if the ride was even there or not.. 4.00pm: My video camera and Canon Powershot A200 have been charged, ready for snapping. Ryan (my brother) was to come along with me. 5.15pm: We arrive at Fox Studios. Ryan and I decide to take a little walk through the place as I have never been there before. I think this place really does have the potential to be transformed into the next WB movie World. As soon as I walked into the place, I had a feeling as if I were really in WBMW, all that was missing was the street parades and rides. Fox Studios was unfortunately dead though, despite the large range of food and retail shops that not even West Fields shopping centres could match. After our stroll, we headed for the little pathetic excuse for a carnival, which was just across from Fox Studios. 5:30pm: We buy 25 tickets for $20, and headed straight for the main attraction, Turbo. We actually had to wait quite a while because the disgusting, rude and smelly carny's weren't paying any attention to who was queuing up for rides etc. That probally was because that only 4 people were on the site of the carnival (Ryan, myself and another couple). 5:35pm: I enter one of Turbo's tight little "hamburger" cages, and instantly notice how uncomfortable the cages are. You're sitting on a piece of plastic, with some padding around the sides of the cages (and believe me, you'll need those padding!). The ride finally started up, as my cage began to rise into the sky. For the first minute or so of the ride, the cage just rocked side to side while following the actions of the wheel. When the ride started to slow down, all I could think of was "was that it?!" as I faced the sky. But little did I know, I was only halfway through the cycle of the beastly machine. As the ride started to start up again, my cage tilted so that I was facing the ground, the wheel then rotated making me rush towards the ground face first. Immediately after this I was pounded with a flips upside down! I had no choice but to hold onto the grab bar as tight as possible. You do come out of your seat, and sometimes hit the the top of the cage with your head! At this moment I had no idea where I was, since I did grey out for a slight second. I was thrown around the cage like a rag doll while my cage furiously rotated. After a minute or so of this madness, the ride finally came to a complete stop. So is it worth riding? If it means driving 3 hours to get to sydney, do it. Because this is one hell of a ride! Although you do get beaten up more than Thunderbolt, this is hands down the best carnival type ride I have ever ridden. Go ride it! After this, my borther and I took a ride on the lame and slow dodgem cars, then took a few pics of all the other little rides. I noticed there was one of those lame looking ghost trains, and a couple we're boarding the ride. They went through the typical "terror doors", into darkness. I then heard a couple of laughs, and 10 seconds later, they came back out the other door. Best. Ghost train. Ever. LOL! I have edited a 1:47 video of the turbo, along to the song "Bring Me to Life". I actually don't like the song, it just goes well with the video! The video is 7mb. Please leave any comments you may have about the video. Also, here are some pictures I took today of the "carnival". Enjoy! Video of Turbo For those who want un-edited footage of the turbo, please PM me. Thanks for reading, Liam

Yeah, Damn_u69 (Andrew, good friend of mine) is currently up there hitting all the parks that his sister dances at. I believe they won't be performing at WBMW though. However, I did tell Andrew over and over that Scooby is greatest thing in the world, so he's going there with a friend of his. "Ride scooby, ride scooby, ride scooby" "OK!! SHUTUP LIAM!" Liam

The update is now up at OzCoaster. Enjoy the photos! Liam -
Good design, but I don't know if it would be possible to do that as the G-forces would be too high when braking. Good thinking though! Liam

Need I say more? I don't know what planet you come from, but on Earth, spamming (posting stupid, random posts) isn't allowed. Get a life. LOL! Good one!

I feel much more comfortable with my photos being on OzCoaster since they are being "advertised" more so to speak. According to the site's hit counter, the updates get viewed a lot. OzCoaster alone has been visited over 500, 000 times - mostly thanks to the free advertising we get from Scream Scape and Ian's connections with American amusement park web sites and work related sources. Ian is currently putting the update together, which will be without doubt our biggest update ever. It will be worth the wait! Liam -
Hey guys, I went out to Wonderland today despite the scorching temperatures to get some photos of the freestyle motorcross. I only stayed for 2 hours to see the warm up and the little peewee 50 racing event, since it was basically too hot and there were flies everywhere! From what I saw - it was amazing. Some guy took his first ever backflip while warming up, but landed hard, and ended up with minor injuries. Expect a major photo update on OzCoaster very soon including the motorcross photos and the new Marvel events. For now, I will leave you with a small soundless video clip of the pee wee 50 racing. Enjoy!

Boy, you've got talent! I love the Battering Ram concept, the ride would "hit" (not literally, but it would appear to) until the wall is knocked down, then it would do a full swing. However I don't think Huss Rainbow's have OTSR's (they look like Bounty Revenge's OTSR's.. ouchie!). Anyway, great work mate, keep it up. Liam

Nice TR Richard - glad to know you're having a lot more fun at Orlando than you did in California. So what's next on your agenda?
-
Chippy - you're turning every single topic into pure crap. Daniel corrects you on something, and you call him a "d*ick head" (for the fifty billionth time!). If Daniel corrects you on something, take advantage of that and imprint the valuable information on your brain - don't call him over used profanities. Liam

Very cool! Those Master Blasters looks so cool, I heard that Cedar Point are getting one for their indoor water park, Castaway Bay for 2004. Well done, Liam
-
The layout is awesome, but I've heard from some Americans that it's a very rough coaster. That, or the ultra-sensitive "I criticise everything" coaster enthusiasses are at it again. Liam
-
Actually Nightshifter, I'd say quite the opposite. IMO, the first drop is the smoothest part of the ride (you'll know if you've ridden recently), and the rest of the track just bumpy. Not extremely rough, just very bumpy. The most brutal part of the ride is when exiting out of the fan turn at the back. Thankgod those seat dividers are there! Liam

Dude - please re-design Wonderland's map, please! That's fantastic work! Well done. Liam

I'm with Daniel on this one. The only reason I say that is because it barely clears the hill. On the transition from the hill to the (slow and boring) turn around, there seems to be a metal strip with a cable through it. I've seen an empty train clinging on to this object, so it's obviously an anti roll back system. Daniel has suggested that the cable is a winch to get the train rolling again. However, on recent rides, I've noticed that the cable is spinning furiously (at least to my eyes) as if it were giving the train a "boost" to clear the hill. This suggests that the train doesn't go as fast as it used to. Also, I've heard reports from inside the park stating that a large piece of wood broke off from the structure when last operating two trains. Apparently BB can't handle two trains, which is why there is only one train operating at the moment. Just a rumour though!

WLS Update 6/1/03.......THE RED TRAIN RETURNS!
Flea replied to Jaggie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Weird that you say that Scream, because from the area I was standing in, it sure did look like the train was passing right through the trim. Thanks for correcting me though. I took the video just over the staff area fence, right near the toilets. Liam -
WLS Update 6/1/03.......THE RED TRAIN RETURNS!
Flea replied to Jaggie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Sorry to bring back an old topic, but I took a video today of the Bush Beast not stopping on the trim brakes at all. The trim has now been completely disabled. The video is poor quality unfortunately, as I took it with my digital camera. I didn't get a chance to ride it today, the queue was extremely long thanks to one train operation. Enjoy! -
Daniel was right, typical Wonderland. Thanks for that GoBoi. I actually found the Cubby House area to be quite nice, and had a lot of space for those little creatures to move around in. However the cubs are now much larger than they were (from when I last saw them 2 or so weeks ago). Liam
-
Today at the park, garderners were actually watering the area with a hose. Does this indicate that somehow the cubs may be coming back? Or is Wonderland just trying to keep the area neat and tidy until the time comes to remove the area? Personally I think that a new type of animal will come in and spend the remainding weeks in the area. Just a thought! Liam

Yeah, it most likely would've been the other cars at the top. For most it is quite nerveracking to be sitting at the top what seems to be forever, so they scream at the top. Either that or you just heard the countdown (which is hardly ever!) ~Liam
-
I I hope to go to Luna Park on the opening day/night, but I don't think my chances of getting in are high. I heard somewhere that to get in on the grand opening night, you'll need tickets from ticketek. Is this true? ~Liam
-
Regarding the screams question, it depends on where you were. I know there a few screams in the video ("GET OUT! COME ON COME ON GET OUT!!), but if you were in the pre-load room, it most probally would have been the screams of the other riders. For future rides on Demon, if you want to know when the train is going to drop, just listen up for the brakes opening up sound - the train will drop about 3 seconds after that! ~Liam

^ I'm a bit confused on what you said. What makes you think that I'd know why they aren't there anymore?
