The building was gutted by a fire whilst it was still the post production facility. It was then fenced off and subsequently demolished.

So many possibilities Although the thought of seeing a single car of the train going round the course with 2 seats does kind of amuse me. -

Where are these trains that have been on site for quite some time? -

I love being able to read one thread I complaints of not having attractions and then jumping to another for complaints of adding them -

I doubt you could put flying trains in Alex. There is a hell of a lot more weight in a flyer train and the ride would probably have to be re-engineered to deal with that. That and the Flying Dutchman trains actually have the train in the 'inverged' on your back position for load. All moot anyway since a new seat photo appeared on parkz a while back. -

Yes the parks closed due to flooding several years back, 2005 I think. -

At last a member that GETS IT and can have a laugh at themself -
But it's not a discussion, it's flogging a dead horse... It's the same post over and over saying 'I Dont think they should have closed it'. Doesn't really progress the discussion any does it
-
Seriously the rides are closed... For good! No amount of going on and on is going to change that. Why are we STILL having the endless discussion about why the rides should or shouldn't have been closed? It's done. Hell Disneyland still has the people mover track and skyway station sitting right there in the park...

I'm stating to feel lilke I get a little bit dumber every time I read this thread now...

Ignoring everything else and not introducing my own views on the good/bad, shouldn't/should haves or anything of that. I don't get why there are all these posts condemning closing the rides when there is NO plan to replace them. How do we know there is no plan? It's like everyone has decided on their own the park has no plans, and is condemning them for it when for all we know they are already constructing the replacements.

We have to keep in mind too in many ways this ride is a prototype... With many firsts for the style of coaster. If you want to push the envelope naturally you can expect teething problems. Look at all the other prototype coasters out there.

I don't agree, it's a different market, you cant make all rides thrill rides. Theme parks are about families and wether us thrill junkies like it or not, people 5 years old and younger need rides too.

Perhaps it's best to experience something before judging. Word out there is the Kumbak seats are very comfortable.

I didn't mean borrowed time like there are plans for that space, I just meant that in a park tight on land, how long can an area that size which is literally a ghost town stay as it is? Probably a good 5 years away but can't imagine it will stick around forever. And yes agree with Bertofski, welcome btw, a new show in the stage would be awesome. -

I think we should wait and see before judging the decision. I am also of the opinion that 'old' western town is on borrowed time. Get rid of boot hill and put in a flat ride, then put something new into show stage all with a new common theme. The 'new' western town leading to wwf is more than enough -
I know nothing of the reasons why, and I'm guessing it had more to do with Australian regulations than anything else, but I've always been impressed at how parks like Disneyland add and remove vehicles seemingly on a whim. And they do this with little fuss, disruption or down time. Most other parks adding or removing a train is a major effort.

To be honest modern control systems aren't going to look anywhere near as exciting. Pretty much any ride control system, or show, or whatever is just going to look like your average IT server room as everything is digital and either running on PCs or dedicated controls in racks. Not much to see really. -
Because in Australia a 6-8 million ride is not considered cheap!

Perhaps not but the racks in the control room are a bit of a giveaway -

Dude you already asked this and it has already been answered! Clearly you would know how to use google... ...it's just unfortunate in some cases parkz must have come up as a result -

Who knows, I certainly dont, and it has been over 20 years and a lot of suppliers have come and gone in that time. It's actually an interesting space as most of it has the concrete water trough through it which could be used to contain the conveyance infrastructure of a dry dark ride. -
