Id bet money that the same people saying they should rotate to different rides all day are the same ones saying how good Disney is to have every ride with unique costumes for the ops... -

I think it comes from the fact that ANYTHING you do for work is detrimental to you. Standing all day Sitting all day Being in air conditioning Being outside in the heat Looking at a computer screen all day Doing manual labour Listening to loud music Touching chemicals Working in a bar making drinks Working in the dark Working in bright sunlight Doing no exercise Physically exerting yourself all day At what point does it go from "part of the job" to "I can sue" There's a whole lot of rights you have as a worker, but there's also very little success in the workplace to come from always exercising those rights rather than just 'getting on with it'. *these views are mine personally and do not necessarily reflect those held by me when in a position of authority within a workplace -
I'm sorry but a bunch of adults (who we must presume are either exhibiting animals or carnies) busting into the giant slide and getting fu*cked up, we an only hope whilst pissed has got to be the greatest Australian story there has ever been haha

Wow where did you get disabled from MINOR workplace issue. And funny that you snap at Joz. I think he has some good perspective on the situation, nice change from most keyboard warrior opinions. -
To be fair you can't see the characters in Justice league and in the park at the same time because it's inside. Kind of like having two santas at opposite sides of a shopping centre. But you could definitely see superman on the back of the train whilst he was standing in front if you at the fountain.

My expert analysis of the photos tells me the ride will utilise both water and power... -
Wow that's really old judging by the character suits

I think you've raised a good point there when it comes to budgets on old attractions verses new. Back in the early days most of the Village rides were kind of backyard jobs which meant they couldn't get a lot for their dollar but they were a bit on the backyard side. These days the parks are using top name international suppliers and with that pedigree also comes a price tag.

With all respect to your opinion I disagree that a large park/business can't foster a healthy team and friendly environment. AHL is a perfect example of this in a very similar industry. -
Can we have more members like ThrillSeekerNoMore and less like skeetafly? Like not on the forums, just in society in general?

I always ride the front seat of Big Thunder, have no problems with it at all.

Most coaster control systems don't have any contact with the trains/carts outside of the station. What they do is monitor their movements, speeds, etc between sensors placed throughout the course. By knowing the time between passing those sensors, it then knows the speed the cars are traveling at and can choose to brake them or not to achieve the correct speed.

Given it's preventative maintenance quite possibly not. At a time when people are naturally going to be questioning your maintenance regime you probably don't want to go postponing scheduled maintenance just from a PR standpoint.

Ah and there's the media sensationalism we know and love.

Thanks for the input but can you refrain from using such ridiculous statements as "almost dangling off the side" as this clearly didn't happen. All guests were securely fastened in their seats the entire time. It's a bit like this "2 bolts" thing getting around. Without knowing how many bolts hold a set of wheels, etc to the car how does anyone know if being held by 2 bolts is even a bad thing.

You make a good point, a Steel Dragon was closed for a very very long time and I would imagine we'll see the same here. A company with such stringent standards and which prides itself on safety as much as Village Roadshow wouldn't even think about re-opening the ride until the exact cause and way to prevent this incident is known.

Eureka wasn't in it because at that time the BIG rides were actually major attractions -

Disagree. One seems like an official statement policy on SBNO attraction questions. The other seems like they've been told it's re-opening but they can't opening say it yet so be creative. -
Yeah but look at the forum posts. The members of that website are off their rocker.

I wouldn't even consider superman a classic, it's just a good coaster IMO. Why they are considered a classic I think is that (say for BT) they were a completely immersive environment and offered the complete package of a ride most comparable to what would be considered an E-ticket at Disney. The other thing is for most members here I think we grew up with these rides as kids so we have an attachment to them. As time goes on different generations will develop what they consider to be classics for them. The last of my classics really disappeared when Looney Tunes closed I think.
