  1. Ah yes if you enter after close you'll need a pass. If you're in the park already they'll let you in to see the show. Best options for both that and fantasmic are the dinner and show packages.
  2. Did you see waterworld? Shame you missed World of Color. You normally can still get viewing without the fast pass. They just won't let you in until just before the show but I've never seen an issue.
  3. I like how the complaint is essentially that it's crap because it's popular (i.e. Crowds). Kinda contradictory really. If I had a business that was always busy I wouldn't choose to also open it when no one comes.
  4. Like any incredibly complex piece of process machinery (which is all any ride is, pretty much a factory assembly plant turned into something cool), they are all a 'one off' (even if it's a clone) and build by hand pretty much. Often the software code will be slightly tweaked for each parks unique requirements. The climates they operate in are all different. Inevidably there will be 'bugs' that require test and adjust and you won't find these until you run the attraction in real world with guests and relatively non technical operations staff. You don't just want to go making drastic changes to fix these bugs and then just chuck guests on and hope for the best. So a small time period of downtime is the best way once you've found all the bugs that need correcting.
  5. Sounds like you made your mind up before even getting in the gate and the reviews was biased from that point on. You can't exactly bash the park for not wanting to have guests killed by lightning.
  6. And I said they are not external walls. If you look at the steel you will see many attachment points for further exterior cladding. I completely expect it to look the same as every other stage.
  7. This is off peak. A small break between schoolies and Christmas. There is nothing to say this ISN'T scheduled. Just because they didn't put it on the website. Yea you commission a ride. But it only makes sense to do an inspection once it's been open to check everything is good, parts are wearing at the expected rate, etc.
  8. What is wrong you peopl?? This is not 'just a burrito' and is certainly worth $20. The idea of having chain restaurants in the park is the worst thing I've ever heard. All everyone bitches about is wanting better food offerings. We get them and now you complain about the price being unreasonable. Get a grip.
  9. $20 for restaurant standard food is completely reasonable especially in a theme park. Think some of your have been eating a chain outlets too much and are not in touch with modern day dining prices.
  10. Pretty sure it will look identical to the other stages. The concrete will be the internal walls with cladding to go outside, the space filled with insulation for sound proofing.
  11. Yes sound stage and construction staging area. It's going up real fast.
  12. I believe the beef is the make your own menu item at the top so it is on there.
  13. Yeah see that's where personal tastes come into play. I have no desire to fit as much in as possible on a holiday and like the relax approach better. Cant say I've 'hit' a park in 10 years.
  14. Weird to hear you say it slammed you around as I generally think GL at Movie World has quite smoothe transitions. And yes it was the huge forces and 'holy shit' factor that did it for me on the Magic Mountain version. I thought the coaster would involve heaps of spinning which I wouldn't like but it's surprisingly nothing like that.
  15. I'm sorry but I LOLed a bit at that one!!
  16. Green lantern definitely us up there as a unique ride done very well. However I definitely feel the Magic Mountain version gives a far superior ride experience.
  17. Three points... First, if this was for seasonal hire then there may be a lot of applicants so could take a little while to hear back. Second, Village done usually let applicants know if they weren't successful unless you call and ask. Third, all applications require a cover letter. If the applicant couldn't string a sentence together in a decent fashion I wouldn't consider them for interview, so AlexBs point is valid. It's not a discrimination thing, it's an effort thing. To an employer if you can't make the effort to get that right it brings into question the amount of effort you will bring to the job regardless if the role itself requires you to write.
  18. When I read "worlds best" I really think of "World Class" and that's probably the meaning in context. Ie dosnt have to be a statistic breaker but is an amazing ride that holds it's own on the world stage. If the DA says rollercoaster, it's probably not going to be a 3D dark ride...
  19. I know and wish I could say but this one is a very tight lipped secret and my source is very official but has to be protected. I was shocked and blown away myself and I know you all will be too. Exciting times.
  20. I've been going to vegas for over 11 years now and this "no way" thing is wrong (I'll ignore the fact that the definition if several is pretty much 4). Why would you want to CRAM on a holiday? Apart from that Vegas has heaps of things to offer, and to get a decent experience you need hours at each, so a few nights with evaporate quickly. I just spent 6 nights and all of then were chock full.
  21. To be fair I think two nights in Vegas is selling it short. So don't sell both Vegas AND Disney short. Save Vegas for another visit when you can spend several nights and take in the many very cool things it has to offer. As for the coasters around Vegas, they are all beyond shit, don't waste you time. The only decent once is Canyon Blaster and it's an old Arrow. Go ride the old Vekoma at Disneyland, it's called Space Mountain or something like that, it's a tad better. As for shows, if you go to USH, DONT MISS Waterworld. Easily the best theme park show ever made. If you go to Knotts, don't miss Log Ride, the real gem of the park.
  22. 7 hours? I think my record is about 16/17 but you can't keep that up for more than a couple days. Having said that I'm not one to 'do' a park and attack credits. I like to spend a nice spontaneous day in the park. It's for this reason the idea of heading back to Orlando and My Magic + really isn't exciting me. The idea of planning my leisure time weeks in advance just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
  23. 10 days in LA and you're spending so little time at Disney? Are you doing a lot of non park stuff as well? If not give yourself at least 2 maybe 3 days at Disney. Include a weekend so you can see fantasmic but you'll need 3 night so you can do World of Color and Parade/fireworks. Paint the night IS NOT to be missed. Knotts do on your 3rd Disney day. You should knock it over in 1/2 to 3/4 day. Don't miss Xcelerator, best launch there is. Do not miss Tatsu, X2 or Colossus at Magic Mountain, they are just amazing. I would also make sure you ride Riddlers as stand up is very cool. And the surprise HOLY SHIT ride for me was Green Lantern, a must do.
  24. Definitely, there is no park on earth like the original Disneyland, no matter how they try to recreate it bigger and better. California Adventure is also now a wonderful park. As a coaster fan one just can't miss the chance to visit Magic Mountain and Knotts is a wonderful park and really a hint at everything Dreamworld could/should be.
  25. Cept it's only green. It's made that was so as to be bright in full sunlight. Some really clever bright spark came up with the concept.
