    The Wii

Well let me know how yours goes, I might keep it just incase we ever upgrade TV's. The only thing I noticed was a slightly faster frame rate and a better reaction time, but I think that was because it was going through the DVD player. Was at Robina yesterday, and they've installed hundreds of new touch-screen directories, which are probably old technology in Brisbane, but anyway, to the point, they displayed commercials on them as a kind of screen saver. There was one advertising the Wii and Rayman: Raving Rabbids. It looked pretty good, definitely eye-catching. Does anyone know when ExciteTruck is coming out? It looks great and I'm thinking about picking it up.
  2. Hey, it could maybe just have an inline-twist taken on slowly, if no-one knows it's there, then what does it matter?

I brought a component video cable today. Dished out the whole $50, EB wouldn't do it any cheaper even though they supposedly were having a 'Massive 50% Off Clearance'. Do you think it's worth keeping? To my dismay, I plugged it in, set the screen settings to EDTV/HDTV 480i, and the screen completely f'ed up! I spent ages looking through the manual that came with the TV, and then I realised my TV only supported 480p. At least it works fine when I set it on 60Hz now! The picture is a bit clearer, but nothing spectacular like I hoped. Thoughts?
  4. Maybe they could have two drops like the one at Dollywood. (I forget the name, even though it's probably only a few posts away). A smaller one inside, and some funky inversions, and then to finish, a larger one visible from the main walkway and/or the queue line. It'll never happen, but hey, we can all dream right...? ...Until someone awakens us with the truth anyway!
  5. Call 1800-WELUVIAN... What the hell is a Weluvian...? 10 minutes later... Oh, 1800-WE-LUV-IAN...

Just a side note, when I tried to visit the Wii Shop this arvo, it said that the system was currently undergoing maintenance. Is that because they're adding games to the virtual console?

Whoa, that's an old TV alright! Can you even get RF Switch Cables for the Wii or can you just use GC/N64 ones? I've got a nice big LG Flatron CRT Widescreen myself. Sure it doesn't have the best quality picture and takes up a fair bit of room being a CRT but it has composite input jacks so I'll be looking at picking the cable up when it comes out. One thing I've noticed which I can't seem to fix, my TV supposedly supports up to 100Hz. When I set it to 60Hz it screws up, but if i change the ratio to 4:3 it works fine. Any ideas? I kept my gamecube controller but I sold all but one of my games. (Smash Bros. Melee). Can I use it for anything apart from GC games? I bought a classic controller and I'm wondering whether I really need it if I've got a GC one... Or should I just keep 'em both?
  8. You only have to pay to hire tubes for use in the wave pool! All the other rides that use tubes don't require you to hire one. Geez, that would suck so badly if you had to pay for tube hire on top of admission!

Yeah, I managed to cork my knee playing golf somehow with the WiiMote. They're pretty solid.

Thanks, I already figured that out, I just jump madly and hope I hit the ball sometimes. You know how sometimes in Tennis you smash the ball really hard and it's impossible to hit? How do you do that? I've tried waiting until the ball reaches its peak height before I hit it but it hardly ever works.
  11. Wow! Definitely a good idea, I might even consider buying one now... Maybe...

Nope, I suck immensely at baseball! I tried the fitness test thing, and what did it tell me? It said I was 61 years old! All because I didn't hit a single baseball. I'll try again tomorrow, it was the first thing I did so I probably have improved. I'll definitely buy a keyboard if they aren't expensive. Are they wireless or do they plug into the USB ports? About the wrist strap, I've got a feeling I've got the old version, but I can't really tell. The newer picture looks rubbery and mine is the string version you find on most lanyards/wrist straps. Is it worth bothering to get a replacement? (Oh, and I'm using the computer again, to slow to type on the Wii).

It's working fine now! I'm posting this from my Wii! Slow to type though... Best thing since sliced bread IMO.

    The Wii

I got mine today! The sensor bar looks a lot different to how I imagined it would. Concerning the WiiConnect24 Service, has anyone found it to be really slow? At first I thought it was just my internet connection, but then I noticed there was hardly any bandwidth being consumed. I'm using the WiFi adapter from my DS as I don't have a wireless router. Will the distance away from the Wii affect the speed?

Woo! Talk about PERFECT timing! I'm getting one in a few days time. Does it work with all websites? Does anyone know if more plugins will be available apart from flash?
  16. Let's not forget all that chewing gum beneath the bridge at the start of WWF! That stuff's gotta be decades old!

    The Wii

Wow, sounds great! Heh, I had to read through a few times until I realised what that picture was supposed to be. I'm definitely getting one this chrissy. I'll be getting Zelda and Wii Play along with a classic controller. I've sold my GameCube on eBay and surprisingly it went for $92. What game should I put the money towards? Hmmm, maybe they could make a Wii version of Thrillville and you pull the lap bar down and simple things like that... Just an idea...
  18. Yeah, I agree with you in a sense. SDSC wouldn't be anywhere near as good if it wasn't indoors though. I think that the ride should be visible from the highway so that people notice that there's something new and want to visit as opposed to a new shed which looks unappealing to most people. For example, on school trips last year to WnW, everyone saw SE having the final touches added to it and they were more excited about it than the fact they were going to WnW because they'd never seen it before... Anyway, just my opinion.
  19. Well I think that increased cost + less rides = not as good... Yeah, I know they have way better rides, and I'd really love to get a chance to go there but I just can't see myself spending an entire day there. Maybe half of it at DW. WnW is still a great park and I'm going to keep going there...
  20. We were there yesterday and they were still using the whirly wheels. The cloverleafs were over near a shed inbetween BH and Mach 5. I asked an op if they knew why they were only using 2 person rafts over the 4 person ones. They said that there was an issue with safety or something along those lines but she wasn't 100% sure as she'd only been working there for a week. On a better note, the line moved so damn fast it was amazing. There were people with tubes lining up to give them to the people waiting as opposed to people waiting for them. Kudos goes to the guy dispatching the rafts so fast that the camera couldn't cope. I think he's name was Glenn or somthing similar. No joke, he was sending people off every 10 seconds and boy was it speeding the queue up. The lines were out of the queue house but I didn't wait any longer than 15 minutes at any stage throughout the day for a ride. Another thing I noticed was on Mammoth Falls they had barcode scanners at the top for people with SplashCash Wristbands who wanted an onride photo. How long have they had these for?
  21. Yeah, WWW's website finally has all the videos for each ride up and running on their site. Well, except for STHC... One thing I found strange was that they had two separate videos... regular on-ride footage aptly named ride-vision but also another one... dog vision? I guess it ties in with advertising and all but the videos are all practically the same apart from the people riding... Oh well, thanks DW & WWW for the vids! Oh, and the videos all have the new theme song in them too! Decent one too.
  22. Thanks for that pic. Is that the raft used on the rocket slides or something else?
  23. I actually would rather Whirly Wheels if they didn't lower the capacity. How are people seated in them? Is it face to face or what?
  24. You'd be surprised how much space SDSC takes up. I know I was when I found out!
  25. So does the vomatron actually make you feel nauseous or is it just the name?
