And did I hear somewhere that you can only be in 1 fastpast que at a time? Maybe that's just with those fancy QBot's that some park use? Shaun Finaly 100 posts!!!
-
Finnaly lol, i had forgoten all about the whirlpool Can't wait to see it in action, but no way would it have a 1000 per hour capacity. Shaun

Is the fast pass system fair? I've obviously never used it before but if I was going to a new park I would probaly use to just make sure I got onto all the ride. I'm not gunna spend my 8 hour days standing in 1 hour lines for the whole day. I still think it's kinda unfair, What else are we going to have to pay for next? It is just seperating the poor from the wealthy........ Shaun

A coaster there might scare the tigers though , but serious, they couldn't build to close to the tigers, but I sapose If the Thunderbolt didn't anoy them well then they will have no problem with a B&M Shaun

They actualy showed a fair bit of footage of the coasters and even had a few onride shots. How cool does the ghost rider look. I've never been into wooden coasters (Maybe cause I've never ridden one ) but boy did that ride look cool! Shaun

Anyone heard anymore about the Seaworld Coaster Rumor?
Shaun replied to zztopless's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I can Imagine Seaworld with an impulse It's just a nice little(tall), compact coaster that would fit nicely into the park, standing out but not ruining the theme of the park I reckon it would be great ride but I don't know how many times you could re-ride it. Shaun :sw: -
False alarm wonderland will not get the thunderbolt!
Shaun replied to Jaggie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Does anyone think that Wonderland would really want to buy the Thunderbolt? To me it just doesn't make sense Why would you want to buy your competitors old crap rollercoaster when they are only going to replace with soemthing heaps better anyway. Wonderland are just going to fall behind. Anyway only time will tell Shaun -
Anyone heard anymore about the Seaworld Coaster Rumor?
Shaun replied to zztopless's topic in Theme Park Discussion
What rumor is this? Is this the one that is going to go up past the corkscrew along there? Shaun -
I'm the same, I like anything that goes upside. I love the topspins and the KMG's 'move it's' (the claw) but I can't wait to try a top scan. Shaun

I bet you they call it 'THE HULK' and paint it up green and for the logo the will have the 2 hulk hands crashing through the 2 loops Now that would be a laugh! Shaun
-
Nice I don't like the coulours of the coaster though..... dark blure and purple Thanks and I apreciate all the effort Shaun
-
Nice! It's looking very good for dreamworld Poor wonderland, you got to laugh Shaun

Well somone might know what it would be worth new? 7, 8, 9 mill? Shaun

I worte back asking who they sold it too but as I expected no reply yet... Is any one game enough to have a guess at how much it was sold for? I'll say 300 - 400K, really i have no idea but it is gunna cost a bit to dismantel, rebuild and construct it again. Shaun
-
Luna park sydney might buy it? j/k lol Shaun

Here is an email that I have just recived from Dreamworld after trying to score myself some free bits. I feel so important, finnaly I have a scoop on something So who would of they sold it too? or more the question who would want to buy it? Shaun

I'm shocked! It was always going to happen but now it has happened I don't know what to say! Just out of the blue they stoped it on us. I wonder what they are going to do with the scrap parts? I would love to get a hold of some of it. I bet ya any money that this new 'Teen Market Thrill Ride' will be one of those pendulem type rides that all ride companys make, like a giant swinging ship but much bigger, with a much bigger swing and diffrn't gondalas. Shaun

I don't have a problem at all with the staff at Dreamworld, they have all been real nice to me and it's not their fault if they have been told to run at 1 train operation I think a lot of the time when you come across bad staff (and you havn't done anyhting to to stir trouble) you can normmally blame it back on the park itself due to iether poor trainning or lack of staff. Some times you do get the odd bad egg but it's up to the park itself to re-train and fix the problem. Can the Thunderbolt run 2 trains? Is it ever done?

What frustrates me is when you are standing in line there and they are not even makeing an etempt tp push lines through quicker. For the Wipeout they have like 3 staff members just sitting their talking while the rides operating and while we are just all standing outside waiting in line when we could be storeing our valuables and walking up through the wave which could save about a minute of time! add this up and you could have about 2 or 3 more rides an hour! that's 120 people!. On the wipeout they have all the equpiment and even the staff (surprisingly) to increae the capacity but they dont! Same with the thunderbolt, if they hired one extra staff member they could run it a lot more quicker. Anyway now you have got me started Shaun

Is that the ride where you actualy shoot foam balls at the other riders! Iv'e heard of that, tell me more Shaun

Thanks It sure does answer my question. My Dream job is to one day manage a theme park, and I'm even considering moving up to the goldcoast to go to uni just so i can hopefully get my foot in the door at one of the theme parks I want to to do a bachelor of business at Grifths Thanks Shaun

What's the structure or hierarchy like at themparks? When you sucesfully get a postion at a theme park on the ground are you just put on the one postion and thats where you stay for good, or do you swap around every shift, do you have like teams that you work in on diffrn't postions and do you start on small rides and work up to big rides? Also do you slowly progress up through the ranks, eg. start as crew, then promote to team leader, team cheif, manager etc. Who does every body answer too? I'm interested in managing and and am just interested in how a big orgainisation like a them park goes about managing it's staff. I realise that diffrn't parks would do things diffrn't ways and that not everyone at a park is a ride op but I would just like to hear what you have to say. I'm sure someone can enlighten me Thanks Shaun

So why did they fail?, Obviously they wern't makeing enough money, but did they just slowly disapear, or where their expenses to much? Where they advertising it much? Also what are those kids doing in the 2nd pic ridding those bikes?

last year when it was down here (south east victoria) it was only $4.50 a ride. I watched it getting set up and it's quite interesting, I don't think people realise how technicall some of these rides are, I mean there simple in theory but it's amazing how it all comes together. On a side note is there any rides travelling at the moment like the wipeout sorta style? A fair while ago I remember one coming down here and I also recall hearing one falling apart during a show but I have not seen or heard of one for a few years now? Shaun

We have one down here called the 'Materhorn' with a snow theme. Half of it is inclosed and it goes backwards too
