  1. What two new sections? Where will they fit in? Where did you get your information from? "The Bus is now leaving for Question Mark, South Australia"
  2. Yes but are they still not families? I would put money on those families having younger kids too. Joz and I are in agreement on this, the attraction has to have a broad appeal. If they don't, the park will start shutting out the majority to cater for the minority. "The Bus is now leaving for Skull Creek Minor Bridge, Northern Territory"
  3. That would have to have the most ridiculous ride I have ever seen. I have seen backyard coasters that look better than that. "The Bus is now leaving for Billycan Trap Yard, Northern Territory"
  4. Zordy you sound like you are from the Shire. They, like you, want there own little world where no one can enter without being a resident. And it's that kind of attitude that makes the rest of Sydney hate them. If I had your attitude I would say something like 'I want all the taxes I pay when I buy petrol used on the roads I use and I want exclusive access to those roads.' Yeah Rooty Hill town centre is not one minute down the road and Mt Druitt five minutes are they? Head the other way and Doonside is just down the road. BOP is such a long way from anywhere. Have you been out to the shooting centre at Cecil Hills lately? Now that’s out of the way. As long as he doesn't get sent to Pialla the further away from me the better. Bert you need to calm down who cares if someone calls you fat or moonface or whatever. Alex other names come to mind when I think of Shifty, Stevie and other like them but if I post them I am likely to get banned. "The Bus is now leaving for No Name Gnamma Hole, Western Australia"
  5. What I mean by that phrase is a flat ride that the whole family can enjoy together. I did a quick Google and found www.flatrides.com which has a list of different flat rides but I couldn't be bothered going through them all to find one that I think would be suitable. "The Bus is now leaving for Doolee Flat, NSW"
  6. Gazza the majority of visitors to theme parks in Australia are families not teenagers or any other demographic. Families will spend more money in a park than teenagers. They will also spend more time in the park too. So you can see that the park will want to cater for this group. Who cares if it's a Mack or an Intamin for any other brand, for all we know it won't even be a coaster. My money is on a family flat ride. "The Bus is now leaving for Family Rocks, Western Australia"
  7. What company or place of business does not have those regulations? In all the places I have worked they have always been working on various safety issues. Just look at Wonderland and think of how many OH&S issues there were. Who cares if they are from the BCC area or not? It makes absolutely no difference. I haven't been bus driving in that area for a while. Didn't you see the post about the Japanese Wonder Bus? There is even a photo of me (bus driver, middle left), they upgraded my photo since I last posted this link. "The Bus is now leaving for Crew, Queensland"
  8. How is it possible for BOP to cost $1.8 million if it is not used as you claim Zordy? Oh that’s right they employ you to sit around and wait for it to rain so you can go and play in the mud around home base. Daniel remember that image when you are there next. You say that there are 2 Alderman who want the funding to go elsewhere, does that make any difference considering there are 15 on the council? What is the big story about Wonderland? Have they finally decided that it can all be torn down? I just had a look at the BCC site and the public exhibition of the Wonderland proposal closed today. I'm guessing there were one maybe two objections to the proposal and chances are those objections will be disregarded because there are too few of them. "The Bus is now leaving for Blacktown Industrial Area, NSW"
  9. stevie boy if you are going to quote me please do it properly. It should say: The way you quoted me makes it look like I am contradicting myself. I don't think that $40 would be over the top for the average group (4 people). Think about it, people buy an on ride photo for each row that they occupy, in this case 2 rows, the prices of each photos is around $15, that’s $30 for 2 photos. If you get a DVD with these two photos plus the two videos plus stock video of the park, it's well worth the money. "The Bus is now leaving for Contradiction Well, Western Australia"
  10. You must have an incredibly short attention span then. Scooby doesn't have fire sensors on board the carriages. If I had such a short attention span I wouldn't be able to stick to one subject for more than one sentence. "The Bus is now leaving for Short, South Australia"
  11. How often do you look at your on ride photos? This technology has enormous potential and just has to be taken up by a few of the major parks, which I think they will, to really take off. I'm not saying it will replace photos but if it is available as well it will work. I guess you would have said the same thing about on-ride photos when that technology was developing. The discs will have to be available just like the photos, as soon as you come off the ride. It will not work with getting a number to go and get the disc later. I think the self serve kiosks could work but they will have to produce the disc on demand. Also the previews would have to be just a sample as people will have their video cameras recording it. If people are mucking up on the video (obscene gestures, flashing, etc) the staff would just delete that video like they did with the photos on demon. "The Bus is now leaving for The Kiosk, South Australia"
  12. Yet people buy their photos that show the same face. The video of people on Vomitron and the Bungy Pod thing sells. The SkyFlyer at Paramount Parks has video that also sells well. Personally I think that this will become very popular at parks around the world, providing they price it right and allow for more videos to be added as you go on rides. "The Bus is now leaving for Price Anchorage, Queensland"
  13. I agree that this system as Adam describes it is ludicrous however the Mack site itself has this PDF (1.7Mb) about a Powered Coaster. Unfortunately it obviously doesn't go into much detail but does describe it as 'self-propelled' and can 'reach speeds up to 26 Mph'. This is the first time I have come across a motorised coaster but I still don't believe that the individual cars would have sensors to detect fires and back the train up. "The Bus is now leaving for Coasters Retreat, NSW"
  14. Well I have done a bit of searching on this and found this. I have asked them for more information but it seems that Mack, who built Scooby, do have a powered coaster. As I said I have asked for more information about how it works so we will hopefully find out a bit more soon. "The Bus is now leaving for Billy Mack Spring, Western Australia"
  15. But you don't wear any. It was lots of fun for Kevin. It was your photo's that make me scream when I go to sleep. The nice men in white coats are coming to get me soon then I will be safe in the nice padded room. "The Bus is now leaving for Northfield Mental Hosptial, South Australia"
  16. It would more likely be a foam system due to the large amount of electrics throughout the ride. It would cost them a fortune if it went off as most of those systems require extensive work if they are triggered and then there is the clean up cost. "The Bus is now leaving for Flying Foam Passage, Western Australia"
  17. I am waiting for Richard to give some information on this because you will be looking for a while for anyone here with operational experience on Scooby. To me it sounds like the operators on the ride are just about redundant and it seems ludicrous that this system would be in place. When the operator presses the e-stop that's it, the ride shuts down and has to be reset by maintenance, no cars moving, nothing, complete shutdown. Adam you still haven't answered Alex's question about where you got this information from. "The Bus is now leaving for Ararat State Emergency Service, Victoria"
  18. The ride will have cameras throughout the tunnels. I am not sure of the training they do at MW but at Wonderland, in Space Probe, if there was a fire in the tunnel the guests would be directed to the nearest emergency exit ASAP. Scooby will have numerous emergency exits throughout the ride that would allow staff quick access in so they can get the guests out. What's this about the cars reversing? The first thing that would happen in the case of a fire would be for the operator the press the e-stop this automatically kills the power to the entire ride, therefore preventing the cars from going anywhere. "The Bus is now leaving for Stokes Hill Power Station, Northern Territory"
  19. That is correct and that is what I was referring to. Edit: Chrisius, read my posts and you will get the answer to your question. I have explained it several times and couldn't be bothered doing it again. Secondly just because some cultures allow people to do something’s doesn't mean that all of them do or should. Thirdly does it really matter that it isn't doing anything for the Aboriginals? As far as I am concerned when they re-took 'ownership' of Uluru and asked people not to climb it they gained respect with me. "The Bus is now leaving for Verbena, Queensland"
  20. That's three times now. Good work righty, you caught on to what I was hinting at. "The Bus is now leaving for Hintonville, South Australia"
  21. Too bad if one of the trains has stopped, piece of the track has broken or any number of other situations that might arise. If the ride needs to be shut down in an emergency it needs to happen instantly. Take it from someone who has years of ride experience the last thing you want in an emergency is the ride continuing to operate. "The Bus is now leaving for Anchor Rise, South Australia"
  22. Adam if you are going to quote me make sure you do it verbatim. "The Bus is now leaving for Quottabri, NSW"
  23. The only reason I have for not stepping on or in a pyramid is respect. Simple. I have read you last post several times now Adam and am yet to understand what you are going on about. Firstly you seem to have missed my point that the modern Egyptians do not, on a whole, base their beliefs on ancient traditions, hell it's a Muslim country. But there is a group that still do and just like Australia they are a minority. However just because they are a minority doesn't mean they shouldn't be respected. The Alien's didn't build the pyramids the American's did. "The Bus is now leaving for Alien Dam, Victoria"
  24. Yet you have posted twice since you said that. I think you will find that there are heaps of industrial vacuums that use the 'cyclone' and have been around for a very long time. Anyway back on topic, what if Disney went in to partnership with Hoover or Dyson and created a ride that is based around a vacuum cleaner. Ride could have a big lift followed by about 10 circles one on top of another going down so that the speed and g-forces build up as you go down. The ride will both blow and suck. "The Bus is now leaving for The Circles, NSW"
  25. I’m with Daniel, I couldn't care less if I never went on another coaster again, in fact after operating them for so long I would rather not considering all that can go wrong with them. I am getting a vision of the future. Bush Beast is being pulled down and it starts to rain. All the machines have torn up all the top soil and created a huge mud pit. Zordy is wallowing in the mud naked crying his eyes out, his body wrapped around a piece of wood. I'm now in the corner of the room arms wrapped around my knees rocking back and forth repeating 'bad imagination' over and over again. "The Bus is now leaving for The Mud Hole, NSW"
