  1. The other thing they could do is has a multi-session DVD disc which you can buy at any gift shop or ride with the facility in the park. Every time you go on a ride you can give them the disc and get them to put your ride video on it. The disc would come pre-loaded with stock park footage. This facility could also be expanded so that any character photos can be added, parts of shows, etc. This is fantastic technology and will change they way parks do their photos, videos and shows. 2. It's interesting that people know what I am thinking. I was referring to the current Egyptians. Yes you can walk on and into (very limited) the pyramids but just like Australia the majority of Egyptians are not descended from the ancient culture. It all boils down to one thing, respect for people and their culture. No matter where you go in the world you are expected to adhere to their customs. This applies to everyone except Americans who can do whatever they want. Anyway I think Dreamworld should build a huge new coaster that encompasses all the wonders of the world, natural and man made. It would start in the station which is themed as a CenterLink office and the first question is if you are Aboriginal or Torres Straight descended. At the end of the ride those people of that background receive a full refund of their admission to the park and a second ride on the coaster. 3. Yes they do have a wider opening at the front and back of the pads. The attached drawing is a top view of the brake pads that were on Demon. "The Bus is now leaving for Drawing Room Rocks, NSW"
  4. Personally when I get to the Pyramids one day I will not climb them or go inside. I studied Ancient History at school and did Egypt so I understand what those monuments mean to their culture. The reason people don't climb on the Vatican because they have respect. Just because it's not man made doesn't mean that it is any different to how they or we should feel about it. "The Bus is now leaving for Egypt, Queensland"
  5. How can you say that? I have looked at the whole site and it doesn't show you what the camera looks like. For all we know it could be a small camera placed in front of each row of seats or it could be what Wonderland had for Demon, which was a fairly large bracket that was attached to the front carriage, that's what I think you are thinking of. Joz the on ride videos of Vomitron and Sling Shot are some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. When the NRL footy show went on Vomitron I seriously fell off my chair because I was laughing so hard. "The Bus is now leaving for Smithfield Camera Trig, South Australia"
  6. You have said that twice now yet you continue. "The Bus is now leaving for Continuation Dam, South Australia"
  7. So you wouldn't mind people climbing all over a family crypt? Or the Vatican? Or the Wailing Wall? Or the Mosque at Mecca? People should have some respect for the culture and therefore should not climb Uluru. "The Bus is now leaving for Cryptocarya Creek, Queensland"
  8. Adam I have just had a rest and have just finished reading through the whole thread and you have stated several times that Australian parks should be at Disney standard. Even in your reply to my last post you still seem unsure of what you are talking about. Before you reply to this I suggest that you have a look back at some of the 'discussions' I have had with various members of the site and see what success they have had arguing with me. "The Bus is now leaving for The Rest, NSW"
  9. That's a little insensitive don't you think? "The Bus is now leaving for Uluru-Katatjuta Aboriginal Land Trust, Northern Territory"
  10. I presume you are referring to Neb's post but I am confused because he clearly states that the wheels are on the outside. Personally I think that it makes little difference to that safety factor of a coaster. "The Bus is now leaving for White Stone Outside Dar Stool, Norfolk Island"
  11. Make your mind up. Firstly the whole basis of your argument is that 1 or 2 maybe three rides are Disney standard. You then say that an Australian park has reached that standard. You then go on to say that no Australian park has reached it yet but you were talking about one attraction. Make up your mind and stick with one direction in an argument. "The Bus is now leaving for Argument Dam, Western Australia"
  12. It must have been. If you know what I mean. "The Bus is now leaving for Bubba Willy Well, Western Australia"
  13. I think your reality is seriously whacked Zordy. You are the only person here that thinks that there is any chance or any point in saving an old and derelict ride. So maybe it's you who shouldn't bother being here anymore. Besides I don't have a Datsun, I hate rotaries (I prefer the Lion's myself), I have a VL Commodore and do hellies in the Macca's car park every Friday and Saturday night, is that ok? "The Bus is now leaving for Commodore Peak, Queensland"
  14. That's a great plan Zordy. There is only one feasible idea you have put forward and that is the last one. But let’s look at the other two. 1) You will get $5 max per person per ride and I'm pretty sure that it will take more than just you riding it all day to make that viable. Think about the running and maintenance costs. 2) 100,000 people a day driving past on the M4, M7 and Wallgrove Rd thinking 'why the hell is that still standing? The park closed 2 years ago'. Of course all woodies are old aren't they? You even posted a link for a new one. Schmuck. Bussy drops to his knees and starts shaking uncontrollably mumbling something about end the misery. Eeeeuuuuwwww. Some more disturbing news on this later. "The Bus is now leaving for Hornsey Wood, NSW"
  15. Adam that information has been covered extensively on this site. If you read through pretty much any of the recent Wonderland threads you will get an answer. "The Bus is now leaving for Thread Shoal, Queensland"
  16. Come on give Adam something for his input, I was thinking of a Degree in the Bloody Obvious. "The Bus is now leaving for Adam Head, Northern Territory"
  17. That's a brilliant plan. I can hear the in park spiel now. "Welcome to Luna Park. To ride the largest wooden roller coaster in the southern hemisphere please make your way to Milsons Point train station, catch the train to Rooty Hill and then transfer to a bus for the trip to the Bush Beast. Round trips are approximately 2 hours not including the wait for the train, delays on the train, wait for the bus or rides on the coaster. Enjoy Luna Park everyone. Even if part of our park is 50km away." Seriously the quicker it comes down the better it is really becoming an eyesore. What is the use of having a freestanding coaster in the middle of an industrial park? "The Bus is now leaving for Spieler Creek, South Australia"
  18. Personally I think it should read something like: "Finally the site will be cleared of the rides that have been closed for nearly a year now. Please expedite the DA so that more jobs can be created sooner rather than later." How many jobs did Wonderland provide? Around 300 to 400 depending on the time of year. How many will the 10 or so businesses that will be put on the site provide? My esitmate is around 1000. Now tell me which is better for the area. LET IT GO. It's gone. It's never coming back. Someone cut away Zordy's tight fitting lycra (Bussy shudders). "The Bus is now leaving for Jobs Range, NSW"
  19. The park is, from what I have found, not and amusement park but more a forest. Bada Forest Theme Park. "The Bus is now leaving for Asia Well, Western Australia"
  20. Ruddegar any updates are usually posted in the 'Demon Removal' thread. You can expect updates in the next few weeks as the rides start to come down. The site was handed over to ING in December however a deal has been done to allow Zodiac, Space Probe and the Beach Tower to continue to stand so they can be sold. If nothing has happened by March then its bye bye to them as they are made into little bits at the scrap yard. Bounty's is long gone, from memory I posted a photo in the 'Demon Removal' thread. Also what use are the Snowy troughs to anyone? All it is, is 2 concrete walls and a concrete floor there is not much you can do with that, last time I looked concrete walls and floor are not very transportable. "The Bus is now leaving for Concrete Bank, South Australia"
  21. I cannot give you any sources but if you look at the show you will see that it makes millions. First where does the prize money come from? Sponsors. Not only does the winner get money but the majority of contestants get a cash prize. These sponsors actually pay to give the money away, the same goes for the cars. Mitsubishi gave the show however many cars to give away but they actually paid the production company to do that. Then there are all the adverts during the breaks. The products used in the house (food, appliances, etc). Every phone call made throughout the show by viewers to evict someone, or win a prize makes money for the show. If the show wasn't making some serious money it wouldn't be on air. "The Bus is now leaving for Prizemans Creek, Queensland"
  22. Once again the people on this forum expect theme parks to be up to their standards when in reality they are at a standard the average visitor to the park enjoys. Glubbo is the person I am referring to at this point. How many times do you go to theme parks? More than 6 times a year I’m guessing. How many times does the average visitor go? Once every 5 years or so if your lucky. The average person does not get bored with pre shows, be they videos or actors or audio. That's not saying that these things should not be updated fairly regularly. You think seeing Space Probe's video a few times a visit was bad try operating the ride a couple of thousand times and then tell me if it gets on your nerve and into your psyche so that every time you hear anything with a similar sound effect you automatically replay the whole video in your mind. It's very disturbing. "The Bus is now leaving for Glube Bore, Western Australia"
  23. I posted that on the 4th-October-2004 you must have been bored to read that far back. Anyway the answer to your question is in one of the Wonderland threads. Someone said Bush Beast had de-railed and I set the record straight. For more information search around and find the thread. "The Bus is now leaving for Record Well, Western Australia"
  24. Old news Belgy. That was posted in this thread a few weeks ago. "The Bus is now leaving for Old Newry Bore, Northern Territory"
  25. Simulators do not necessarily have screens. There are aircraft simulators that do not have screens and are used for various types of flight. "The Bus is now leaving for Little Flights Bay, Tasmania"
