I'm looking forward to do my trip.
-
I have a 4 day work conference in Dubai in November and I have convinced my boss to let me stay an extra week so I can play. So really sending her away is for me. I’m really hoping that there are no delays with Motiongate and it opens in time for my trip. Last time I was there I missed Ferrari World by a few weeks.

@reanimated35 If I went it would not be relaxing for my misses. I'm looking at sending her off without me.
-
@mickey_079 I'm more interested to find out what the Carnival Spirit was like. I was thinking of surprising my misses and sending her on a cruise.

If you ran lap bars you could only ever have 2 people on a log. All this talk about logs reminds me of a childhood joke. Once there were three teenagers, two boys and one girl. The teenagers wanted to stay in a hotel, so they drove to the nearest one. The hotel owner said, "We only have one more free room, but it is the haunted one." The teenagers didn't care, so they said they'd take it anyway. "It's on the 4th floor." the owner said. Once the teenagers had gotten to the 4th floor, they heard a sound coming from inside of the room. The oldest boy said he'd go in first to see what the sound was. He went inside and heard a high-pitched voice saying, "When the log rolls over, we'll all be dead!" The teenager ran through the window screaming and died. Then the second oldest boy went into the room and heard, "When the log rolls over, we'll all be dead!" He too ran out the window screaming and died. Then it was the girls turn. Even though she was the youngest of the three teenagers, she was the bravest. She too heard, "When the log rolls over, we'll all be dead!" But she wasn't afraid. She listened closer and heard it coming from the bathroom and saw 2 flies on a piece of poop.

How would restraints even work? If I'm a teenager and have my girlfriend/boyfriend laying back against me. (Oh baby). How can we have separate restraints that you can't unlock yourself? I think DW if anything will just install more cameras around the ride. People have been doing stupid things on the Log Ride for 30 years.

The investigations are over. Skeet has used his powers for good and solved the mystery of the missing rider. Not really, but I think Joz is onto something. Everybody is assuming it happened at the top of the lift hill but I don’t believe this to be the case. Unidentified lady saw the rider standing while the log was travelling. She did not say on the lift, so she might have seen SuferBoy around the track and not going up the lift hill. If a rider fell off the top then how did he end up stuck at the bottom, pinned under the water and next to the lift? When I think of the lift it reminds me of an oversized treadmill. To skeet if SurferBoy fell over the back of the log at the top, he wouldn’t go down but up. I can’t see it possible that the oversized treadmill wouldn’t push the rider back up the treadmill. Skeet’s conclusion is SuferBoy was already surfing the log before reaching the hill. During the transition SuferBoy has wipe-out and landed in the water. The current of the water at that point would be extremely strong, pushing the dude down and towards the treadmill. In a statement it’s mentioned SuferBoy drank a lot of water and in skeets eyes anywhere else on the track you could just lift you head up. Skeet is going to have a lie-down now.

Really @OceanGirl I can't remember never seeing one at the top as I enter. Not going to go too much in what might have happened because each news article I read is saying something different. I have always thought that something more was needed to be done in this area to stop the AndrewH factor. Knott’s has and alarm that goes off if you stand up. SW has a person sitting at the top. I know they have video surveillance going on. This is a question for a ride op or ex. With all that is going on with operating the LogRide, how much time do you get to watch the video feed? From what I have been told, I believe you have to be the highest level ride operator to control this ride. On the radio they were just talking to a paramedic and he said he landed in the water. If a log was at the bottom of the hill and the guy fell backwards then how could he have landed in the water if a log was at the bottom of the hill? The paramedic also said he swallowed a lot of water but did not mention that he was stuck in the lift.

My advice for @Brad2912 is do your trip before but leading into the USA summer break. Disneyland starts it extended trading hours a couple of weeks before the holidays but the parks are not full yet. Airfares, accommodation are always cheaper too at that time. My last day at DL was the last day of school in the USA. If you ever want to see what 1000 yellow buses look like at once this is the night to go. DL opens it gates to seniors students from midnight for free on this day. Walking back to the hotel with hundreds of yellows buses driving past. Kids head, legs and arms hanging out of windows, all screaming like they just won the lotto.

@OceanGirl I'm with AlexB on this one. It's time you set out a plan and put it into action. The idea might seem out of reach but I encourage you to do some research. With some good planning it is very cost effective. I payed for 2 adults and 3 kids last year and it cost me $12000.00. You might think $12000.00 a lot of money and it is but when you put it into context you see how cheap it works out to be. I was in the USA for 4 weeks. I spent 1.5 weeks in LA. From LA we hired a van and did the whole ocean road trip up to Seattle. We stayed 3 days in San Francisco and drove up to Portland/Seattle. Going back to LA we went inland via Sacramento. The last few days we spent near Hollywood. You just have to be smart with your planning and it can be done. Examples of Skeet being smart is. Stopping off at Gold Beach Animal Park for $3.00 per person. (Gold Beach Animal Park you get to play/feed with the tigers for free). And we had good luck with this because we got to play and feed 4 cubs which were like 6 weeks old). Example of Skeet not being so smart is doing the all you can eat breakfast at Knott’s Berry Farm before the park opens. The not so smart part was free champagne was include so Skeet was pissed before Knott’s even opened up. All comes down to saving. I also never do what I wouldn’t do at home. I don’t spend $50.00 on a meal at home so I don’t do it while on holidays. I also always pucker up on accommodation. If I’m at Disney from 8.am to midnight I don’t care what my accommodation looks like. As long as it has a bed and no Bed Bugs then I am happy. Even the cheapest hotels give you free breakfast to charge up for the day. First thing I do when I arrive is buy a cheap ass esky. I fill it up with the free ice that all the hotels have and pack it full of the drinks that I purchase from a grocery stall. I sure a lot of people can give you tips on saving $ while still having a great time. DON"T EVER NOT GET TRAVEL INSURANCE. My son got food poisoning and ended up spending 9 hours in hospital. When I arrived home I had a $17000.00 bill in my mail box. Lucky for Skeet he had paid $100.00 for travel insurance and he just forwarded the bill onto them.

I don't think the weight is measured. SE needs to be weighed for the ride to apply the correct force. For the ToT I believe this is not the case because each magnet is controlled seperatly and the force applied by each magnet variers due what speed it is traveling at. I was walking past with my partner when it failed to launch. It went up as high as the curve, rolled back towards the station. The car did not make it back to the station and started rolling back towards the hill. My wife said out loudly that the car is about to get stuck. She said this just as a maintenance guy was walking bye. He very quickly replied the ride was just resetting because it lost the location of the car on track and didn't know how fast it was travelling.

Assuming that its fits back in the container. Have you never opened something up and the god dam thing just won’t go back in. I was there the other day and had a quick look. A dude was working on it. Maybe there is much work to be completed before they are attached. I think once the slab is poured it will go up quicker than a circus tent. That slab should be poured this week. Give the slab 1 week to do it's thing and up she goes.

I've seen a lot of stories going around lately about the General Manager of SW Bikash Randhawa. I’m not going to repeat them but what truth do you take from people reviews of a person within a park? Is it just people bitching or once you hear more than one person saying it could be some truth to the matter?
