I wonder if it has anything to do with the day the maintenance crew where seen all over it a little while ago. Strange to think that the gate has been open for 30 years and now they want to close it. I wonder what affect the rail system will have on the water flowing at this point and maybe the new rail system might cause the rafts to go into the water storage area so they are closing it off.

I think you need to rethink your only QLD restraint free policy @coasterdude44 I could list heaps of rides from the top of my head. Eureka also had restraints. Eureka 1 had no restrains but most people never rode it or remember it on the forums. I remember it only because I had my mates bum rubbing up against me. That you never get out of your head.

I'm sorry but to me it would be Expo 88 news. Titan was her name and she was a pain to tame. As a young lad she was one of the first girls I got to ride. Just because she has moved homes a few times now does not mean she forgets where she came from. I believe I rode her over 200 times in Brisbane. May she never forget me. She would let me ride her for free every Saturday from 12-1pm.

1 of the signs said don't buy tickets. Then they brought tickets. Maybe they just want the park to themselves. Maybe they where hoping the Dolphins where going to thank them or do a stealth rescue mission.

Thank you for the photos @Theme Park Girl. You are doing a great job. The only minor concern I have at the moment is the downpipe coming out of the tree. In saying that, I think MW did a pretty decent job include the stairs into scenery? Keep the photos coming because this is the most exciting part of a new ride/attraction.

Stuff that. As soon as you don't say what you think, China has won. Push has left so need to worry about peoples feelings anymore.

I don’t really care about the so called incident at MW. It’s not really my place to comment on a half story. I do find it strange that members think they need to say “First off let me start by saying I fully support women breastfeeding” so they don’t look bad or they don’t want to look bad. I don’t care either way but I do have to tell myself if somebody is breastfeeding in public not to have a gander. Interesting that the Comcast who own Universal are now buying DreamWorks. I wonder if we will now see Dreamworks in Universal. Even better Universal in Dreamworld. From what I have read it says DreamWorks will be directly run by NBCUniversal. Upon completion of the deal, Katzenberg, a former Disney executive, will become chairman of DreamWorks New Media, which will include some NBCU television operations. It will be interesting how Motiongate plays out now. With Sony, DreamWorks & Liongate joining up forces for one park, I do wander how Universal will fit into this in the future.

Of course a ride was removed if a new ride was built. They very hardly don't spend a cent. The boat being removed without being replaced. "Watch this Space" It’s a bit more than just remnants for the Skylink I say. Try 95% of the operating ride remains. It's more like they just took the train of the roller coaster track but left the ride behind. Look through the fence near the rapids at the loading station. Everything remains. Skeet would even goes as far to say it would be easier to recommission the Skylink then Eureka. If you read everything that skeet said and mash it together a bit you will always get a better understating then pulling one sentence apart.

3 Things wrong with people are thinking here. The footings a new ride would never be loaded onto the fill that was added to the site but down to the depth of the natural stiff soil. You are comparing an airport runaway & a new road to how a building/ride is founded which are 2 different methods. Think of it this way. An oilrig as the building. Waves on the ocean as the soil. The sea floor as the natural stiff soil. An Engineered will always treat the any fill as the ocean and found the building/ride into the ocean floor.

I totally disagree with you here. Ardent has been doing a better job at up keeping the park of late but it was Ardent who let it get so bad in the first place. The current CEO has been doing a good job in restoring the park but the last CEO did nothing. CEO turn over has been every 3 to 4 years, so we will see what the next one does. Every ride that Ardent build have just been fillers. Everything the do is to reduce cost and make more money. Trains replaced, reduced ride hours & vintage cars only running on the weekends is all about increasing the bottom line. Don’t get skeet wrong, I want the parks to be doing well but on ardent track record I see them never building another ride to the scale of TOT. A new owner might be DW only chance of us getting a decent new ride. Ardent do not even spend a cent on pulling down rides that do not operate.

I don’t think it’s the first thing any parks think of when they first discover a problem in the morning checks is to run and post it on the internet. From my experience, a ride that is found wanting in the morning will run at some point during the day. At Christmas the WWF was having problems waking up in the morning (She had a big day before). The staff at the gate told us to ask at any ride attendant if she was out of bed yet and they would find out. I thought that was pretty good customer service. What do you mean by what happened to Sea World? Sea World has always been a family park and never been a teenager park.

Start saving up your money now. Not a cheap place to go to. If I remember correctly 1pt of beer was $14.00. Sadly I was only there for work.

Just a tad too much Disney for my liking. I love Disney and it’s always a must but I like to mix my trips up a bit more. Have you been to Dubai before?

Parkz News Dreamworld's Log Ride reopens

Try channel nine news. I think it was also run on 7 too. What are you on about @Wyncenuros What makes you think Parkz news is just for Parkz Members? Many reporters use Parkz as a source of news for their information. I have always thought it would be interesting making up something and seeing who would run with it. This was my favourite quote that I found online- “Nice people on the coast. “Apparently he was disabled and freaked out and tried to get out of the log just as it went up the lift hill.” Or is it the rumour “He stood up to do a piss” or the rumour “he was taking a photo of himself” or the rumour “he was surfing the log” or the rumour he was doing a handstand” or the rumour “he was scared Clive Palmer was going to sink the log” If you type anything you want about a ride you will be directed to the Parkz website. -
