They've used that exact phrase since at least February 2023 on the MW website and backed up by this very thread in the same month here:- 392 replies

I mean - there's plenty of solid green walls in film making (but I do know what you mean) But 100% agree with you on the shade...

Movie World Maintenance Schedule 2025

I couldn't care less. -
I mean, I don't like that jarring aspect that comes with leaving these sorts of things untouched, but i've said multiple times in the past that if you're a 'movie studio' park you get a pass on sight lines as the idea is it's only what the camera can see. There's plenty of lights, rigging, booms and other film making devices just outside the lens.

this isn't the smoking gun you think it is. -
I haven't seen WOZ in person, but from what i've seen, the only way to the maze precinct through Woz would be to go via the ride queue pathways? If the rides are closed for the event, either the whole land is, or the rides are closed so that they can use the ride queues for getting guests to the mazes. Not sure how the internal areas of the WOZ queues will stand up to night time fright night shenanigans... so I'm hoping they don't use it.

Looks more like something is definitely down. Anyhow - this doesn't point to anything sinister - regular maintenance on the launch system can include de-tensioning the cables. -

Road design is a factor though - SEQ has a lot of hairpin onramps that can't be taken at speed. Additionally, even with long straight onramps, the speed limit sign is at the end of it, so most drivers don't accelerate to highway speeds to merge easily, and end up either stopping at the end of the ramp, blocking the onramp flow, or merge onto the highway at 60-80, stacking up the left hand lane. That said I find a lot of drivers can't merge even when the conditions are favourable, and many people can't roundabout either. They need to teach roundabouts and zipper merging in school. -

There is some analysis out there that traffic isn't made better by adding more lanes - the more lanes you have the more traffic you get was the outcome if I recall. Offering an alternate route is definitely a must - one thing shuts down the highway and there's very little alternative - but i'll take 4 new lanes in a connector over no new connector at all... -

I thought C4C was just the QLD container scheme. Though funding SWF makes sense. DW would likely use DWF if they established similar, I assume. -

Who does Village donate their containers to? -
West has been on and off for a while. the old boats had a risk of people exiting them and getting into the surrounding areas. they've used the west theming for premium experiences too. It's also the closest to the rear residential area and while there is a scream shield I think the noise is still an issue for them. I don't see any issues with West being offline TBH. As for WOZ, I think WB would be very protective of their IP here. While there is a great opportunity for flying monkeys or scarecrows, woodsmen and the like, I just don't think such a classic should cross over into horror genre in park - at least not yet. Though it's a shame they won't open the land for capacity reasons I suppose...

Yeah that's fair. It's clear the park is slowly modernising \ refurbishing every section of the park but it does take time... and unlike other parks nearby - I can see that they're actively working on stuff so i'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt that something that looks a bit shitty is going to be temporary, and eventually rectified.

Dreamworld General Improvments 2025

I never said the onus was on Dreamworld to fix the problem (though their current driveway arrangements do make it worse). What I said was, I hope they're discussing with relevant authorities options to rectify it. To be honest, I think the roundabout is out-dated, and needs converting to traffic lights, with the main issue being people from the northern end (westfield) queueing across the roundabout preventing DW carpark exit. -

While there are some times where SE would have to close due to FSF maintenance and vice versa, the vast majority of the time one ride is able to continue operating even if the other is down. It makes sense to close them together to do whatever work is needed though... -

Frequently at park close time, the highway is just as bad as the connector roads surrounding it. If you could at least get out of the carpark you could choose to spend time waiting for the congestion to ease on the highway by visiting other nearby establishments. -
Kudos to the designer of those particular items for sure!

Honestly - there's plenty of good reasons to expediate exit from the DW carpark. if you can get past that roundabout you have options before trying to get onto the M1 - dine locally at one of the many dining precincts in and around Coomera, go shopping on certain days, see a movie if you're really keen on avoiding the peak hour traffic - it doesn't all have to be about getting on the M1 - it just has to get you past the roadblock. -
just tell me when and where - Happy to assist!

to be fair, GL is planned maintenance and the off season is when you'd expect it. Superman and Flash are unplanned, and unfortunately due to the placement of flash, problems with superman can potentially shut down flash too. You've only posted three attractions, so I'm assuming DCR, JL, Batwing, Roxy, KT, WW & West were all operating? -
What about the ones in the tunnel that have "been there for months" ?

Dreamworld General Improvments 2025
DaptoFunlandGuy replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I've visited a couple times in the past few weeks - I have a few thoughts.. The staff are absolutely the park's best asset. everyone we encountered had a really great attitude and were all trying to go the extra mile wherever they could. Giant Drop is screaming for something else in that area to draw people down. it's a long slog to visit one singular ride. I'd like to see a pathway from Taipan to GD - either through the envelope, or around the back way where the train line used to be. I'm sure this will come when they develop Rocky Hollow, but that can't come soon enough. I did notice those bins on our most recent visit and they are a great improvement to the older style with the added recycling benefits. I wonder if the park could partner with a local charity or fundraising effort to donate containers for change? Maybe even do something like grill'd where they have 2 or 3 local groups looking to fundraise and you can 'vote' where you want your portion to go to? The park is such a hodge podge and patchwork of areas - looking tired in a spot they haven't gotten to yet, but everywhere they have gotten to looks amazing. It's clear they're continuing with this park-wide spruce up and I can't wait until they're finished I know it is the off season - so the expected maintenance was understandable on two of the park's four 'adult' coasters - however the breakdowns on attractions that were open were disappointing. In a half day visit, we experienced breakdowns \ faults \ ride stoppages on 4 of the 5 rides we lined up for. While it was almost certainly just bad luck or bad timing, it wasn't something we've had happen on previous visits and it gave the impression that maintenance wasn't up to standards. While the staff were great - the communication during break downs needed to be improved. Additionally to the breakdowns, reduced capacity was an issue too - with multiple attractions closed for maintenance, one would think some ops crew would be available to bulk up other attractions. GD only running one side made that queue far longer than it needed to be given the crowds in the park. On one of our visits, Sky Voyager had multiple seats locked out - and the need to balance the gondola meant the same number of seats on the opposite side also had to be taken out of service. The new exit shop\photo centre is great. looks clean and fresh and is a great way for folk to finish their day. It was a little disappointing that the range of 'generic' product with absolutely no ties to Dreamworld took up the bulk of the space. I'd love to see the park invest in some more 'something I can only get here'. In particular, (and this is me sounding like a broken record) - a nice quality polo in a dri-fit style fabric. King Claw progress looking good - I saw the test seat still out in the carpark ready for install. With the focus shifting back to Ocean Parade I do hope they have plans to freshen that area - especially the old trolls village \ kevil hill. While they do use it for activations from time to time, seeing it sit in prime space the rest of the year is just sad. The carpark construction fencing is a major problem. Blocking that bottom end forces the upper areas of each of those lanes to merge into a single laneway prior to reaching the bottom exit row. I realise there is a need to have heavy equipment and machinery close by the construction zone, but perhaps (and especially since WWW is closed) they could have put it near HydroCoaster, minimising the dry park disruption while still being close to the construction zone. Further to that - getting out of the park at the end of the day is a shambles. The roundabout frequently backs up with people trying to enter the M1 southbound and people queue across the roundabout preventing people who are trying to get northbound from exiting the parkway. given the road feeds the M1 i'm assuming the roundabout is probably not a local issue but a state\federal one but it's a really sour ending to a fun day and I hope Dreamworld are talking to relevant authorities about options to rectify this. -

right, so another enthusiast with a differing opinion. Unless the park is saying it's permanent - i'm happy with my own opinion.
