  1. I hate Eurofighters. I've ridden Mystery Mine and still am not a fan. They're awkward and uncomfortable. I really hope Dreamworld does not build one.
  2. I can understand that the theme park industry is fast-paced and things will change quickly in reaction to competition, revenue/attendance and a lot of additional factors. However, I would think that a large project (like a roller coaster, for example) would be finalised by now? What lead time would you say a large project normally has?
  3. I would highly doubt that... Then again, I've never been on the business end of one of these deals. However, I'd imagine you'd finalise something like a roller coaster 6+ months out. Remember, these parks have 10+ year plans, and while those DO change, I'd imagine they'd have a fairly good idea about what's happening 6-24 months out.
  4. How long does a roller coaster take to manufacture and ship? I'd imagine they would have needed the plans finalised well and truly before January.
  5. I'm really impressed with Dreamworld at the moment. A LOT of work is being done on the buildings within the park, and while I don't think we'll see anything huge built this year, I'm sure the additions will win over the locals and tourists. The enthusiasts, however, will still be asking for a B&M.
  6. I did two TPR trips last year and LOVED it. The ERT and backstage tours were super cool, but there were a few times where I decided to skip them and spend some extra time at the hotel (two back to back tours nearly killed me...). Besides the theme parks and backstage/ERT perks, you get to meet so many amazing people. I have made so many life-long friends that I cannot wait to meet again. To be honest, I'm going back to America next month and will be spending the entire time travelling around and meeting up with those that I met on the tour. If you have the time and money to do a TPR trip, I do recommend it! I would have done the Australian trip if I had the time.
  7. Will the top of the AVPX show building be hidden?
  8. I was referring to their 'airtime' coasters (Mega/Hypers), not inverted, floorless, looping coasters. B&M are my favourite coaster manufacturer, but some of their coasters lack some kick in the airtime department... thanks partly to the trims. Of course, there will be coasters that defy this and are great with or without the trims.
  9. I do agree with that. They are always trimmed to death... I know a lot of coasters are trimmed, but with B&Ms, you REALLY notice it when they're trimmed. I've been on a few 'average' B&Ms (Raging Bull is a great example of this) that would be x10 better if they weren't trimmed. Intimidator was trimmed, but didn't overly affect the airtime/pacing. The Hulk, one of the rougher B&Ms that I've been on, is still one of my favourites. It has a GREAT layout. Something like this would be good (but would never get it on a $7mil budget!). Tell you the truth, I have no idea what to expect. A decent attraction/ride could be made out of $7 mill, but it wouldn't be a roller coaster/huge thrill ride. If the park was really creative they could pull it off... but maybe aim a little lower, and not waste all of their money on the ride and just smack a few signs up for theming.
  10. I've heard it's quite average in terms of B&Ms. If we're wishing, I wouldn't mind the Intimidator at Carowinds, Apollo's Chariot or Griffon (both from BGW).
  11. Both sides have been reversed, and I'd imagine that any computer upgrades have been completed on both sides.
  12. Something like Prowler, Renegade and Evel Knievel would be nice.
  13. Guess I won't be pleased with the addition then Let's see what happens, shall we?
  14. ^ Please, God, no! Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is an awful coaster (and theme for that matter). Haven't had a chance to give RnRC a go, but I'm sure it's 10x better. Seriously though, I don't care what Dreamworld builds next. As long as it looks good (theming, presentation), high capacity and appeals to more than just 'kids', I'll be happy.
  15. Back on topic... I'm going to throw my 2c into the jar and say that I'm not a big fan of woodies. I have been on MANY woodies (from very good to very bad) and, in general, prefer the (smoother) ride of a steel coaster. There are some wooden coasters that I like (Prowler, Renegade and Evel Knievel for example), but unfortunately, with age and poor upkeep, they tend to get a tad too rough for my liking. Obviously steel coasters do this as well, but I would rather ride a rough steel coaster over a rough wooden coaster any day. * This is my own opinion and you can't change that -- so don't even try.
  16. I love them! They're not smooth, but not painful either (in most cases). They deliver a thrilling ride and going backwards through the loop offers some great forces.
  17. No outdoor coaster. Just an indoor "Rock n Coaster".
  18. ^ The coasters are there, inside the buildings. Seriously, I will only be doing the exteriors. Don't have that much time on my hands!

  21. Over the past few months I have been developing a version of 'Disney's Hollywood Studios' using Sketchup. Now, it's not based on a real park, but some of the facades, rides and attractions are based on actual creations in various Disney parks around the world. Thoughts? (BTW, the park is still 'under construction', so please keep that in mind when commenting on certain facades/areas)
  22. Great news! I love Aussie World. It's such a nice little park, but really did need something new. I really hope this ride is popular with the locals. I rode a few of these in America, and found them to be quite fun. They aren't 'thrilling', but they are far from boring.
  23. I personally would like to see something built other than a coaster. An interactive ride like Toy Story Mania would be a lot of fun, although you can't beat a more traditional dark ride. I have been trying to think of a theme other than 'Looney Tunes' that's currently popular and would fit in with Kids' WB, but honestly cannot think of anything. I wonder if they're going to create a sub-themed area, or change the area entirely (which I would say is very unlikely, seeing as it was changed just a few years ago). Also, Tjay, I understand that they don't have hundreds of maintenance crews. Obviously I don't work for the park, so I don't know whether the park is refurbishing the street or not...
  24. ^ I didn't know for sure if it was going to be finished off. Look, I'm not trying to tick anybody off, but simply raise my concerns. Surely all of you can see that Main Street is in need of some serious work... And I hope that work is being done, as hinted by Djrappa.
  25. Probably. Construction seemingly was completed a while ago, but maybe they were a bit slow to finish up the surrounding bits...
