  1. Impractical...for now. Who would have thought in the early 1900's that there would be roller-coasters that reach the 400ft mark, or travel at speeds over 120 mph, or have 10 loops in them. As that scraggy guy with the beard said on the roller-coaster documentary, there are no limits...
  2. Even though I've never been to either, I'd still prefer a Disney park. From what I've seen and heard, the park experience is of a much higher quality, and the enjoyment is unbeatable. But hey, either way, I'd be happy.
  3. Indeed, I've seen a lot of picking on-ing-ness during my stay here, and I must say that making a stand now really isn't such a great idea. But hey! Who am I to complain. Anyway, back to wha young_aus_enthoustiast said, I to would enjoy a Deja Vu style ride being added to Dreamworld, however from what I've heard, they're quite inefficient and somewhat unreliable. It would be a cool addition though.
  4. I was sacred ****eless when that happened. I knew it was coming, I just didn't expect the harshness of the shaking. Now that I've ridden the immense ride, I'd do it again for sure. I never looked in the distance though, I was looking at our Punch Buddy the whole way up.
  5. Banked against the direction of the turn? Can you supply a photo or summat like that to further describe that, seeing as I'm guessing that all the photos on rcdb would be of the track after SF correction. I also though that the main reason why it didn't operate is because it was far too rough, and that no-one wanted to ride it.
  6. It'd be nice in Dreamworld, but I don't know if it would fit. I don't have much knowledge regarding Dreamworlds area. Would it fit into the Gold Rush section?
  7. dreamworld_rulz...did you think that the Claw stunk? When I went there it was emitting a rather strange stench. I'm interested as to whether anyone else has encountered this problem.
  8. How can you not count observation towers & to a lesser extent communication towers in a list of the tallest buildings? It's absurd. They are still man made buildings, and they reach a higher point in the sky and hence should be counted. As a skyscraper fan (if you will) I have a giant poster that has a picture of every skyscraper (towers included) next to each other, and upon counting the number of towers before the Q1, it comes in at a healthy #68. It's not very impressive when you look at it. Sydney Tower is indeed smaller than the Q1 in every aspect (from the last time I bothered to look into it), and there won't be any buildings taller in Sydney for a long time to come, unless they allow for large buildings to be put near Darling Harbour. That was something Bob Carr was looking into I believe.
  9. I got my Kumba and Montu videos from coaster2k (or coasters2k, I forget). Those videos are damn high quality, but unfortunately are not POV, I just thought I'd mention them, because, as I said, the quality is good.
  10. You didn't go on the Giant Drop, that's shameful. I was scared out of my life before I rode it but I still ended up doing it, and it is a thousand times better then the Space Probe ever could be. The whole sway effect and the rocking of the TOT pod going up the tower is grand. First time I went to Dreamworld I thought the same thing, but when you are on the ride it seems like you go the whole way to the top, so it didn't worry me Indeed it does look good, but it is far from "the 25th tallest structure in the world" as the Sunday Telegraph were advertising it a while back. In May or June, whenever we went they were at the same stage, so I can't comment.
  11. Why not just do durkins, they're a great company and own Australias best travelling amusement ride.
  12. Yes but you see, you probably have an Intel chip. With Intel's, they generally advertise that they have a huge clock speed (aka 3 GHz) but do not mention anything else. I don't know the specifics, but if I got out one of my old computer magazines, I could explain to you that AMD's (I have an AMD) generally have more well rounded figures (they have a better average of bus speed, clock speed and all that other jargon). That is why most computer...experts that I know have AMD's. So, despite the large figures that Intel stamp onto their chip boxes, they do not run that much faster then an AMD, that have a much much lower clock speed. It's not all about processing speed either, with Dell, I've noticed that they put rather large looking Intel processors in their PC's, and then skimp out on the RAM & video cards. So in a Dell, a large looking processor is doing all the work, whereas a computer brought from a computer shop (I chose the parts myself ) has a video card, RAM & processor working simulataneously together to acheive a much better result. I guess it's the same as if you brought a car and put a huge engine in it, but it had no gearbox. The engine would be doing all the work, but there's no gearbox, it would be totally crappy. See what I mean? Having said all this, I do suspect that your computer could run better than mine, because this is a pretty old machine. The point is though, that just because the processor has a big number on the front of it, don't suspect that it makes your computer an absolute beast (And Dell computers are a rip-off).
  13. Indeed it is a very poorly written game, much like the Microsoft Windows series is a very poorly written OS. They need to write a lot more effective patches, or perhaps to release a whole new version of the game which fixes the immense bugs and crappiness that the game has in it. And 2GHz is a fair bit of processing power that the computer has (for instance, this machine has 1.09 GHz, RCT3 is the only game it has trouble running), if it can't run good off that machine, it really does tell how poorly the game was written. 1 GB of RAM is a decent amount, I'd test it out on a PC with more RAM, and see how it copes, the RAM could be the major issue.
  14. I'm hoping this is the right one, if not, then, er..iuno. You'll know if it's the final version (ie: after my section) by checking to see if a colourful area is up the back with a vertical drop roller-coaster and a hypercoaster. If not, then it's an older one. I really liked this idea, pity it didn't go on for any longer... RC_Team_Park_Base1_.zip
  15. So long as you didn't install RCT3 in the advanced mode, and left all the program folders as they were when you first installed it (eg: when it asked what folder you would like to create RCT3, you just went with what they suggested), here is how to make it work. Save the file into the appropriate folder, or alternatively, save the winzip file onto the desktop, then unzip it (did you unzip them?) and then; Right click on the unzipped file on the desktop and press "cut", or alternatively, highlight the unzipped file and press ctrl+X Open My Documents From there, open the folder named "RCT3" Then open a folder named "Start New Scenarios" (for other types of files it may be different). Place the mouse anywhere in this folder except over another icon, and then right click and select the option to paste, or alternatively, press ctrl+V. Now play the game, and go to scenario editor and open the file from, there, walla! If you follow that guide and it doesn't work, I have no other suggestions.
  16. Fer me, I'd go with Dreamworld, I reckon I could spend a lot more time in Dreamworld than in Movieworld. It has more attractions (IMO, better attractions). I also found it hard to get a full day out of Movieworld both times I went there, also, half of those days were taken up by shows and exhibits, so if I were to get a season pass to Movieworld, it'd be hard for me to spend a lot of time in there because I doubt I'd spend a lot of time watching repetitive shows, or the same exhibits. Compare this to Dreamworld, in which I could re-ride the rides as much as I want, which would take up a lot more time, as there is a lot more to do. Hell, I could even visit those animal type of places at the back of the park for once, that'd be ok. Movieworld may be more presentable, but for a Season pass, I just don't think I could do it with movieworld, it would get too repetitive, and I'd get a lot more out of Dreamworld. Hey, and also, where did you get that picture of the Claw from in your avatar, I havn't seen that picture before, any chance I could get it from you (the full pic, not the small pic). Anyway, those are my thoughts.
  17. Is that a highway that it travels over in that first picture? That's pretty damn crazy.
  18. Um, about two afternoons (after school till dinner), if that. Carnivals generally aren't that hard to create
  19. I've created this nice little beach carnival for everyone to have. It's not immensely detailed compared to what I usually do on RCT2, and it doesn't have any big roller-coasters so it won't appeal to everyone, but overall, I'm pretty proud of it. It looks pretty cool at night-time. The town surrounding the carnival isn't complete either, so yeah, make do with what I gave I guess. All the rides are complete, the paths into the actual park section I think don't have any faults, so guests shouldn't have too much trouble getting from the entrance to the carnival, and um, all the rides are currently testing so just open them up and you should be set. This will appeal more to the carnival loving folk, and I guess it could be fun to re-arrange all the ride positions to tailor the park to your likings Another thing, if this does indeed work, it's not a saved scenario, but rather a scenario in the making, so open it up in scenario editor and you should be set. Meh, if anyone wants this park, feedback would be cool. Beach_Carnivalempty.zip
  20. I did an ok one on Hyper Rails, but no-one has that, so there's no point in me putting it up. In the rare event anyone wants it, throw me a PM. And uh, the last two elements (loop, sidewinder) are a little messed up, I created this ride without any images of the Cyclone, or maps, so I was going off memory (from LPS and my first visit to Dreamworld)
  21. You know that's actually a damn good idea, I couldn't see America without Six Flags parks, it'd be terrible! But really, they brought on on themselves, buying so many damn parks in such a rapid time. Also, purchasing roller-coasters and attractions willy nilly for theme parks that didn't nessecarily need them (did Magic Mountain really need Deja Vu? Did Great Adventure really need Kingda Ka?) Perhaps they should have seeked to sell each of the parks seperately(like they did with Geauga Lake I beleive). Surely Magic Mountain and Great Adventure would fetch huge sums of money...maybe not ~2 billion, but it'd be a much more attractive offer to potential buyers to buy single parks then buying all of the parks and being forced to own and run them all.
  22. Indeed, the pictures are absolutely brilliant. The colours show up really well. I'm not photography buff, but whatever you did made them look great, whoever took em.
  23. Hmmm, China ey. This country is becoming a dangerous super-power (lol, becoming), now with these new theme parks, there will be no stopping them. On the other side, this news dissapoints me, because it seems this means no theme park for good ol Sydney...
  24. Lol, it's a fun ride though [Twin Flip]. And yeah, you're explanation of Chaos did ring a bell, thanks Jordang.
  25. I reckon if people contribute, they should get free membership to this, subscription thingo. Anyway, what are the two incidents that happened with Chaos in the US?
