  1. ^ Yeah its amazingly good value. It used to be $20 for 3 hours back in 2002 (when I went there for my 14th bday) and now it's $25 all day - 9 years later + more rides. I think it's such an appealing price that people keep going back. As for the Giant Slide, I didn't think it would be a giant success since y'know, it's a slide lol. But I don't think they would've paid too much for it since it came from the Royal Easter Show secondhand. Redback has surely done amazing for attendance though (the manager recently said they had their best day ever on the Sept holidays) and the flume ride will be a BIG hit too especially in summer since it's, y'know HOT and water rides are always popular in the heat. Oh and yeah the Mozzi Muster is a real stomach churner. When my parents took me there for my 14th bday my dad got sick going on that ride lol. It's one I always avoid when I go there. We usually spend a lot of time of the Dodgems since that's our "thing" and the Dodgems there are great! FAR superior to the slow ass ones at Movie World (*shiver*) PPS And I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the Wild Mouse, SUCH good fun! I'm yet to visit since the introduction of the Redback but I will be going there when the Flume is open and taking my little 4yo cousin and 14yo brother - as an excuse. Hehe.
  2. Lol that Hard Rock park was such a stupendously bad idea. I knew from the beginning it would be a fail (without sounding cocky). For a theme park to succeed you need to market to kids. Without kids, you don't get the adults in the door. Simple math.
  3. http://www.couriermail.com.au/life/homesproperty/big-facelift-for-coast-landmark/story-e6frequ6-1226168046130 http://www.sunshinec...eapple-woombye/ WTF?! I never knew that. But I do remember going there quite a bit in the mid 90's with my nan and it was always very busy. Then I went there about 2 years ago and it was in the most dead, depressing, derelict state. I was surprised it was even open and there was next to no one there. I really hope they can restore it to its former glory.
  4. No problem! Me too, theming can do wonders for such a simple ride. PS What did you think of AW?
  5. ^ As I thought. I was just asking Ride_Me if the CGI design was similar to the hand drawn one.
  6. ^ Oh that's the one I was talking about Is that considered CGI though? I really don't know lol. PS It looks like there's going to be a little water playland at the bottom. Wonder if that will eventuate...
  7. America has the population to sustain these massive theme parks, Australia (especially somewhere as remote as WA) does not.
  8. Did the cgi picture look similar to the original illustration with the structure covering the top part of the ride?
  9. Looking good! Thanks for the updates.
  10. Who in their right mind would invest 4bn on a theme park in WA of all places. WILL NOT HAPPEN trust me.
  11. Thanks Ride_Me for the pics!! I am so happy they've painted the awful green. Great update and I look forward to seeing it take shape even more! PS Welcome to the forum.
  12. Sorry but it's a bit annoying to open threads with new posts and to find they're all about spelling / punctuation errors. Surely it can be done on profiles?
  13. Yikes. Movie World without Superman is pretty dire these days. It's basically the equivalent of MW almost a decade ago give/take one ride. That is definitely the one ride they cannot afford to close.
  14. They must've had a sale on Batman
  15. Where will they be and what type of new rides will they have? Edit: 100 posts for me :D
  16. No offence but B&M's aren't unique at all especially in America where they're a dime and a dozen. It WOULD be unique in Australia but then again anything can pretty much be unique here since we don't have a lot of anything lol. I mean it was only recently that we got our first Disqo (or however you spell it) ride which have been around for yonks now. Imo El Loco's are far more unique.
  17. I do remember seeing some tbh. No I don't agree. Movie World isn't 6 Flags MM which rely on keeping up with all the biggest + best coasters. Exactly. Scooby isn't the most technologically advanced or expensive coaster but it's probably the most fun I've had on a rollercoaster. That's simply not true sorry. The standard B&M is $20 million - that's double the price. They certainly wouldn't get double the return.
  18. Thanks Luke! I am SO excited about this ride. I know there's been some negativity around here because its not a "B&M" but let's face it, its not wise for Movie World to spend 3 times the money on a rollercoaster that isn't going to have much more of a return that this one. I'm happy and I can't wait to ride it Also, this ride >>>> Crudsaw.
  19. Holy crap it's going to cost 1.5 billion. HUGE investment - but I think it will pay off. It'll be a destination park and one of a kind. They'd be wanting 3-4 million each year at LEAST to come through the doors.
  20. I've lined up well over an hour for the Cyclone on numerous occasions too and it's not even that good of a ride. Ugh
  21. ^ Hehe. I wouldn't know, I never visited the place. @ Ocean Girl. I LOVE that video. It's stunning (and sad at the same time).
  22. ^ No I havent and I won't be making a special trip to go ride it because it looks pretty uneventful.
  23. I've been there several times over the last decade. Back when Aussie World was mostly known for 'The Luge', my dad and I used to go there quite a bit. Was a LOT of fun, but they closed it in 2004 because of public liability + rising cost of insurance (so I heard). We went in 2003 for my 14th bday. Went again at the beginning of 08 and then again at the beginning of 09. It's certainly come a LONG way and it has some good fun rides. I can honestly say the Bumper cars shit on the ones at Intencity in Movie World and the Wild Mouse coaster is always fun. The Octopus ride is always good too. And now with the Disq'O it should be even better. I plan to take my 4 yo cousin on the summer holidays when the flume opens - its very kid friendly. And the best part of the park is definitely the theming and presentation. It always looks spotless, even more so than Movie World. It's a world class park albeit small and with fairground rides. And for 1/3 of the price of the big parks + no lines + no rude staff + cheaper, yummier food - its definitely worth a visit. Go on a weekend though, its a better vibe with more people there.
