with the staff, the only way that more can be brought in on busy days is if they call people in or borrow people from wet'n'wild and from my experiences working there, it doesn't happen very often at all.plus they are running on winter staff so there's a major amount of staff not working till September. jake

I hope they bring out all the shrek characters after the movie release like the other times. or even a show like shrek live again?

There was a huge set back with the photos, they are in one of about 50 photo albums I have and are in storage in NSW, which makes them hard to find. I have never seen them either, but am longing to. I am at school still and have little spare time, so I will try my hardest to follow up. Sorry for the long wait. Does any one wish to see some photos I found of a night parade at movie world? Do you know which costumes are being used? I am thinking of coming down with my camera and taking a couple of happy snaps.. are the floats going to be the same or are they just going to change the banner on the film reel float like with the '2000' celebrations, Batman Begins and Alvin and the chipmunks? OH and just on costumes there was a topic on superman never being at movie world, well I believe it was on P base but not so sure. Anyway superman is standing in plain sight in front of ricks cafe!

fair enough, didn't mean to snap, but i do hate village theme parks at the moment, everything is of low quality, but they should end those stupid passes ( I've got one) get some money in ,fix stuff up (mainly shows) and actually ask people who attend the parks what they would like to happen....

ok, I saw the show in december and it was fine... sure they could have done with a better storyline but the effects were great and the high dives, amazing. I don't know why everyone hates it. It replaced the ski show that was awesome, but it''s there get over it

I am absolutely positive that the new slide will be at the front of the park and will go around the other rides

oh no thankfully i saw it the Thursday before then, it was amazing i was there for a good 30 minutes and i got to talk to one of the people there about all of the old tours and stuff really cool

i went there last monday and the tour wasn't on... has it stopped or was it just a day where people were shoot a movie

thanks, i bought one of those for my grandparents at Christmas must steal it back Does anybody have a single photo of a float that hasn't been shown here already it would be great to see. If i get everyone's permission i may put all the photos in a gallery on 'Flickr', that would most likely be my aim, then i should shove it in Movie World's face and let them see how great the park used to be... bahaha jake

wow.. some great news i was just looking at photo's on the internet and stumbled upon a gallery of many movie world attractions from 2000 and that includes the '2000 parade'... http://www.pbase.com/shutong/gcmw and i have now only just found out that all these years i have had an album of photos of movie worlds opening in my garage!!!! will be posting them within the month. and just looking at the birds eye view of the parade floats i have noticed one of the unidentified floats to be in a photo i saw not long ago but i still don't know what it is.

i know this is an old post but i just wanted to comment on a ride gone wrong:) the speakers only work on some boats lately but still no pre-show so it makes no sense to first timers. the lights in the main room with the rockets were on so you could see wires and stuff everywhere!!! with the room where you go backwards the smoke is not working so it creates the same vibe as in the main room..... i mean it's not hard to get a fog machine with juice.... at halloween places did bundles for $50! their just not trying. not worth riding BRING BACK THE LOST MINE!!!!!!!

i'll upload heaps of photos on monday.... back before superman escape ruined everything wonder why they don't bother using the old floats they look better and the old routines were much more entertaining p.s if anyone else has photos prior to 2005 i would be thrilled to see them oh and is there any reason why the maverick show set is still there because the looney tunes set doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon... ?

great photos! there are more floats in the warehouse i also have some more parade float photos including one's of wil.e coyote on a rocket and several images of the parade that celebrated movie worlds first birthday! if anyone wants to see them i would be happy to share i reckon to 'jazz up' Austin's cart they should add some platforms ( i.e. trailer) for two dancers to go on but they still need more characters. Even if people don't know who the characters are it would still be better, the other day a foreigner thought Marilyn was Snow white or Cinderella oh, where was the riddler's show?

What has happened to the parade lately? It used to be amazing back just after Space Jam came out, but now Austin Powers leads the parade and the other day every other character was in a car (excluding Shrek)! I walked around to the smoking area at wild west and you can clearly see the Penguin"s old float, Mr. freeze's and Scooby Doo's. There are also a lot less characters than usual, there hasn't been Fiona, donkey or puss in boots and even cat woman wasn't there last week! Below are some images of what the parade used to be like. oh and just a quick question when was the last photo at movie world?

just thinking along with the water effect light, the use of a bubble machine would look quite nice too. i like the idea of enclosed ques the could be like the ones for the Simpson ride (below) and also going with the fish tank idea these bubble panels would look really cool
