  1. My annual MW pass expired last month... planning to renew in a month or two. Will i get any discount for my second year? Just wondering as i was expecting to receive some sort of marketing email offer if i renewed immediately but got nothing.
  2. Dominos new range is better than their old ingredients but still nowhere near as healthy or fresh as Crust Pizza. http://www.crust.com.au
  3. Looks great i may go there when i'm there in october.
  4. Except you're thinking about the phrase the wrong way around... it's a miss, and it is near.... so it's a near miss... get it? It's not near to being a miss, it's a near miss...
  5. Recommend everyone go see the show again. The storyline has changed somewhat also. Much more entertaining now. The only bad part is the guy with the fake american accent... not goldstein, the other guy. He should just speak australian. Great show!
  6. I went to mw today and saw the stunt shoe for the first time in a few months and there have been soooo many changes and improvements!! First up at the start they now have a guy called Dave who is the producer pick three people to shoot a few shots and they then work the shots into the final video which is hilarious! Dave does a really great job of being funny and getting everyone excited. Then the drivers come out do their thing and they r getting much better now having much closer near misses!!! The big finale is improved too. The old plastic doors flopping in the breeze are replaced by real doors that swing open. The bricks fly everywhere and the whole show was more polished. The crowd was loving it much more than other times I've seen it. Overall the show has improved now to the point where I think it's better than police academy was and I challenge anyone who disagrees to go see the improved stunt driver first before they pass judgement. Only bad thing about my visit today was scooby doo there was no smoke and few lasers going. Was worth the trip for stunt driver tho what a nice surprise!!
  7. Sounds exciting! I'm keen to go.
  8. Thanks that's a great clip... good find! At the end they talk a bit about the upcoming development of a "MovieWorld" theme park on site, and show what looks like a hand drawn map.
  9. "Bring a picnic" ... to a theme park? It's a business for goodness sakes. Not a charity. The more money they make the more likely they will be to invest in new rides.
  10. err, that is a very strange post, but ok, i'll humour you! 1) Superman escape and scooby doo 2) Too many things to list 3) Mostly fantastic except they need to call out for single riders more often in the ride line-ups! I always see empty seats going through and i'm always a single rider. 4) Get an annual pass 5) It would be fun but i wouldn't try to make a career out of being a ride op! Also the park would lose it's 'magic' after a few weeks of working there i reckon... to some degree at least. I hope that answers your questions Randy23.
  11. Has anyone been to WWW in winter? I'm wondering what it's like. When i went on cyclone at dreamworld there was hardly anyone at WWW so it might be a good time of the year to go!
  12. How do you know this? If they are upgrading the ride to make it much smoother it will be well worth the downtime!
  13. I like the idea of early ride open for annual pass holders only.
  14. haha, "give me some ideas and i will bring it up" ... what is he talking about!? Sounds like a young kid, no offense. I like your question though. Anyway here's an idea... if MW are going to keep doing these cheap annual tickets, why not add a bit of value to the annual passes that will entice people like us to pay the extra and feel that little bit extra special! I think a special night once a year for annual pass holders only, or where annual pass holders get free entry and everyone else has to pay $35 or something, would be a great bonus and probably make MW more money at the same time.
  15. wow... amazing. The Q150 must have been a big success for WVTP then. My annual pass expires end of August. There's no point renewing it while this offer is available for 99 bucks... unless they offer annual passes cheaper.
  16. I will be honest, i think this is a smart move by management and will be better for the parks in the long run financially, and thus better for visitors. So long as i can get another annual pass for 80 bucks this year, i'll happily pay $10 for lunch so long as they lift the quality and freshness of their food. Specifically, burgers and chips at movieworld suck!!! I know that low fat beef patties cost a bit more, but the difference is marginal and i'd eat more often if the burgers didn't leave you feeling full of fat afterwards. MW should try a Grill'd burger (www.grilld.com.au) - they are healthy and delicious and it's not rocket science either. The chips i had at MW also were awful... cooked in saturated fat (which probably doesn't get changed every day either) i suspect, instead of healthier oils. In summary, if i find there is nice healthy burgers, etc at the park i will buy lunch. If not, then i'll just go hungry and eat on the drive down and back. The ball is in your court, Movieworld!
  17. The show should come first in my opinion and the way to do that is to start from scratch with new talent and build up something completely new and innovative. It will be great to see what they come up with. With all that space, that huge lake already there, the sky's the limit!
  18. About time they got rid of that old ski show - that thing has been there since i was a young kid! I'm amazed they kept it around for so long. It's exciting to hear that they will be doing new shows on a regular basis now. I think this was a smart move. And the only move that could be made really. Everyone except the employees of the show will benefit, and i'm sure after all these years they must have known some time management would realise Seaworld needed a new show. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.
  19. Hmm i don't think it's anything to do with "operational requirements" if by that you mean how many people they expect to be at the park on a particular day. After all, Saturday (especially on a long weekend) would be one of the busier days.
  20. I went to DW today. It was my first time doing the AVP laser tag, and unfortunately they now only have 1 of the 3 arenas functioning, and 1 staff member running the whole attraction. I'm not sure why this is.. they must be having technical issues or something i assume. Since there was only 1 arena running, it took a good 20 mins or so for each group to get through, so i was lining up for about 50 mins to get in. It was still a lot of fun, but i can imagine it would be ten times better if all 3 arenas were working! Cyclone was walk straight on, which was great. The operators on the spongebob coaster were painfully slow getting everyone on and off, the line was all the way back to the entrance because of their chatting and slowness. They also failed to ask for single riders to fill in all the gaps... so there were about 5 seats that went empty while i was waiting. After those 3 rides i had to head home as it was midday. I wanted to have a go on motocoaster but there was unfortunately no easy way for single riders to get through the line to the front even though i could hear them calling out for single riders. Overall, i felt that MW does a better job in terms of getting everyone on and off rides efficiently! And MW lines seem far better designed - what's with the cyclone line up? You have to walk up a poorly themed indoor building circling up and up and then along stairs and the same to get back out... it was rather bizarre and certainly added nothing to the atmosphere of the ride... just lots of pointless walking! On my next visit (i have the $30 June month pass) i'll try to do motocoaster and the claw, and have another go at AVP if it's back up and running in all three arenas. Overall, a fun morning but too much waiting that could have been avoided. AVP was great, but i hope they fix it. . I should also add, while i was on cyclone, i noticed whitewater world almost empty. Now would be a great time to go, there would be no waiting on any of the rides i would think.
  21. Have you been to DW recently reanimated35? I went today, and only one of the three arenas were functioning at all. So the line ups were almost an hour to have one go. What a shame, let's hope they can get it working again.
  22. hmm i just subscribed to their e-news but haven't received the latest newsletter... can you post it here for us? Thanks mate
