No rides or rollercoasters = not a theme park

Yeh, this is a shame as it will mean long queues year round. That won't stop me getting a pass but i hope this new pass helps fund a new coaster at movieworld. I would have thought that $200 for a year would have been a better price point, i mean you are effectively getting THREE annual passes. I hope the parks aren't short changing themselves and are able to maintain a decent level of staffing to keep queue times down.

This is great, it is good to hear so much positive feedback about the new Movie World night time parade. I have often wondered why our parks don't have night time parades, and why they don't stay open at night even on occasion (say once a month) for people who work during the day. Looking forward to seeing this new parade myself. It certainly sounds like a decent addition to the park - unlike this "winter wonderland" at dreamworld which is a complete disappointment by the sounds of it. I still think movie world should get another rollercoaster - something akin to scooby doo with awesome themeing and a fairly long ride that's not as extreme (and short) as superman escape. Scooby is great because you can ride it again and again and not get sick, and it's enjoyable because of the theming. You can't exactly ride lethal weapon or superman time after time and still enjoy it. For me, rides like scooby doo which are truely enjoyable and magical are what makes theme parks great, and keep me coming back. Well done to MW staff on the new parade.

A fun adult indoor rollercoaster with awesome theming, something similar to Crush's Coaster would be an excellent investment.

A proper adults indoor coaster like space mountain or crush's coaster would be killer!

How busy has movieworld been the last few weeks? Still packed out on a sunday? I am thinking of going this sunday.

Doesn't the park open to the public at 10am? If that were the case, and if the breakfast starts at 9am and is short, and takes say 30 minutes that would only leave half an hour of exclusive ride time on superman?

Yep DW needs a decent roller coaster. Currently they have none... cyclone is OK but nothing special and is pretty short. Motocoaster is VERY short (like 30 seconds?). Either an awesome indoor coaster like Crush's Coaster OR a nice long outdoor coaster like the video above.

Must say it is good to see some positive comments from people on this forum. I no longer have any theme park passes but may look at acquiring one in the near future once the peak holiday rush dissipates.

Yeh you can't buy online, you have to call them up.

It's up now on the ACA web site. A good little review of each theme park on the gold coast.

Highly doubt it since land values where the parks are based are so low and there would be a lot of expense which they couldn't justify just to install meters, security etc.

Details seem rather sketchy... i'm as confused as you guys are... and what's a superman ERT? Early Ride Something? Keen to find out more from the creator of this thread. Though i think i'd rather spend $99 and get the vip pass.... unless this guy is hiring the entire park for the whole day, in which case i'd consider going if the queues would be nothing.

Yep i'd rather pay $40 or more and know that i won't have to line up for more than 15 mins per ride, if that were at all possible. MW do need a new, higher capacity ride that appeals to a wide range of people. Eg something similar to Disney's Crush's Coaster! With $10 tickets i wouldn't go simply because of the waiting times. Maybe i'll go this weekend or next when tickets are $40.

I went on october13th, and had a great day!! The most fun theme park day I've ever had, in fact. The wife and I didn't wait more than 15 mins for a ride all day and did every coaster at both the parks! Food was reasonably priced, fresh and nice. Fast pass system works wonders!! I really wish mw had such a system for their busier days, it means you don't waste time standing in queues and can go off and enjoy other things while you wait. If you get a chance to go to Disney Paris in October I'd say do it! Photos to come when I get back to Brisbane.
