  4. Thank you very much I'm almost disapointed now that I had a really good day at work and I'm not angry enough to bother with this idiot :'( I'll have a play around with it a bit later, but if anyone else wants to have a go, here's the stiched photo. (Thanks again to rac2703 for the images) https://www.dropbox.com/s/c0ox9lt530p9jc2/park.jpg
  5. Thank you. To be a real pain in the ass, any chance of a close up (in two separate images at the same zoom level) of these two places so I can stitch it together and play around with it please? Completely understand if you can't do it, there's just no harm in asking
  6. I hope they do replace it with some sort of kick-ass iconic ride rather than their plans for wild. Now I'm only basing this one the FoF survey a while back so some of you will know what I'm talking about, I just hope they do what was mentioned in that survey rather than trying to fit it into the space where Corkscrew and its surrounds are. As for memories, it was my sister who convinced me to go on Corkscrew and it was the first inverting coaster I'd ever been on. If I hadn't gone on it that day (she'd convinced me to go on Superman earlier that day too) I would love theme parks and rides as much as I do now.
  7. What manufacturer is that one given it's similarity to Wipeout
  8. dj, are you able to say when the decision was made or is that too much? Just curious as to how long they sat on that before announcing it.
  9. Don't forget to add in quiet days where they wait for the caps to recharge then send the ride again within a minute or so. ^ Jake don't be bitter. I'm sure there's plenty of other companies that can do just the same service but cheaper. It's all just paying for a brand name.
  10. Also on that - last time I went to the park ToT was broken down, started running around 4pm and we got through about 8 rides before they said we had to get off to let other people on.
  11. Out of curiosity, does anyone have a track layout for scooby with a guide as to how much of the building it takes up? Gazza, you're normally really good at drawing this stuff up, care to have a crack at it?
  12. This one from 2010 isn't bad for hand-held if I do say so myself
  13. I think they got sold to Seaworld to sit unused while confusing people with a visable track
  14. Welcome. I like you because of the information you may provide, but I don't like you because your company has sponsored 2 crappy v8 teams so far
  15. TBH I couldn't care less about going on the rides. I'm considering taking my tripod along and getting some shots of the rides at night though. Speaking of rides, unless I'm reading this wrong, for them to bring the Taipan (ex-seaworld coaster) the ride owner has to pay around $20,000. No wonder it's around $10/ride. ~2000 rides just to break even on the fee to arrive. Fee per lineal metre ($) GST inclusive (Fees subject to change) Ride – Main $1, 380
  16. It was just more of a general overview of the parks themselves now, mainly to see how the new construction footprint at dreamworld fits in, then just general overviews of the others. Apart from the fencing going up, I was thinking of the wrong area of track. I thought it was the storage sheds but I remembered that was behind wipeout
  17. Thanks, Any chance of a current image of all the gold coast parks? if that's not pushing your work access too much? Also, looks like some work has been happening under the Cyclone. Is it possible that's out 2nd refresh?
  18. I thought they had special permission for it as a temporary attraction then it wasn't popular enough to keep or their contract ran out. edit- http://news.smh.com.au/national/sea-world-eye-to-close-on-gold-coast-20071212-1gm0.html Gold Coast City Council officers initially approved the Eye as a temporary structure during the 2006 Christmas/New Year holidays but it became part of the landscape on the picturesque Southport Spit. Sea World insisted it was never intended to be a permanent structure. Nevertheless a special council delegation ordered the Eye banned in April this year following complaints it was a blight on the Spit, where environmentalists have fought hard to stop a shipping terminal and marina from being built. Council eventually granted approval for the Eye to operate as a temporary ride until January 2008. In August, the Eye was closed for a day and a half for safety checks following the death of five people who fell out of a gondola from the 66 metre tall Giant Wheel at Busan, South Korea. The Giant Wheel's Swiss manufacturer, Ronald Bussink Co, also built the Sea World Eye. Warner Village Theme Parks chief operating officer Steve Peet said that since its arrival in November last year, the Eye had been enjoyed by more than 680,000 people.
  19. I think you still missed his point. In saying that, I like your dedication to it. I remember seeing somewhere, might have been the shyguy forums someone went to a huge amount of detail in a story thread like you're trying.
  20. I thought they had a few of the arcade machines still available. It was a long time ago and I might be wrong I just thought there was still something there.
  21. If they have before then they can do it again. And wasn't it only half the arcade?
