Well given that one of them is V8 Supercars driver James Courtney, it's fairly safe to say it was a soft/media opening. (The guy beside him is really familiar too but I'm not a Holden fan). The car looks great. I'm slightly concerned over the lack of obvious change in the station. Looks like the only thing replaced so far is the baskets. Doesn't look like the repainted the floor. Wouldn't be too surprised if all the cobwebs are still there too. The outside of the ride (entry) looks great though. I really hope they just don't drop the ball on the inside.

What makes you think this incident would influence their decision on loose items?

Plus I really don't see how the Homeless & Travelers Aid Society is involved in this at all.

Oh wow. I can't believe I only just realised that now.

They wouldn't have named the kid Taylor Taylor would they? Pin is correct - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Taylor_Thomas He is known for his roles as the middle child Randy Taylor on the ABCtelevision series Home Improvement (1991-98)

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion

So you've got 3 accounts now? -
My whole life is a lie!

I'm interested to see what they do with the inside of the ride. I posted my thoughts earlier in the thread on what I'd like to see, but what I'm expecting is just old photos of cars and other images in the exact same queue space, still with the giant turbine in the middle. I'd loved to be proved wrong though.

I just mean that the review posted didn't cover a lot of the standard pain points from events like this, FN, Carnivale etc. Generally 90% of the complaints about theme park events come from those topics.

While I like the review, I can't help but feel that it reads like a paid advertisement rather than a genuine review. I'm not saying that it is, I'm just stating that's how it comes across to me. I haven't read your other reviews to know if it may just be your writing style, but your review doesn't make mention of any negatives to the experience other than "despite a few trying moments" which you quickly justified as "throughout what was a technical rehearsal" which is fair and valid, but are you saying there was absolutely no negatives to this experience at all? Parking issues? Queue times? Overcrowding? Prices? Opening hours?

Discovery channel did a show on the construction of Tatsu a few years back.

Unless they've changed since the free version - they don't do satellite images. They said they would update every 6-12 mths unless someone asked & paid them to fly sooner. Obviously weather and ATC requirements may change that schedule. They use a Cessna 210N Centurion II with a high res camera attached to take the "aerial photography"

Google Earth isn't as consistent as Nearmap. The DNRM plugin for Google Earth also has images in some areas from this year, again, not as recent as Nearmap though.
-
Depends when someone pays them to fly over the area again.

Grabbed you pics off facebook for easier viewing @The_Ninja_59 My god I hope the cars look better up close. But overall, looking at it from these photos, I'm extremely disappointed and won't be rushing back. I'd love to see a black track with black supports and some theming on the cars. This looks like a completely half-assed attempt.

Movie World speculation and dreaming - 2015 edition

Where are you getting that from? I've uploaded many pics to FB that are much larger than that. I even double checked and I've got one 1152 x 2048 -
Spotty, you've obviously got some kind of connection to the park, or for anyone else who does, are you able to say what, if any changes were made to the ride? Or at least, will there be anything noticeable? Say, new speed, smoother/bumpier ride etc.
