  1. Have you seen the official announcement yet?
  2. Well we already have a rollercoaster based on a video game, so why not have one based on a card trading game - The colour matches too!
  3. I think it is only there to give an idea of the height of this thing
  4. I don't think updating the wall murals by painting a part of the hypercoaster and doomsday will cost much. Although they may not be able to decide which paint colour to pick up from Bunnings for the new track 😜
  5. Well yes everyday has a 50% chance, as there are only 2 options - they either do or don't announce it. Though one could also argue that as opening day approaches the chances of an announcement also increase, but Movie World seems to want no one to know 😜
  6. Well weren't they wrong, Tarzan was a financial flop and King Arthur is on track to be an even bigger financial disappointment.
  7. So did the article actually answer why we would want to ride it this year in particular?
  8. Do they take your temperature before each ride? 🤔🤒
  9. Was TRR sponsored by a timeshare resort company?
  10. I give up... the same reasons they have one on that page for a rollercoaster and 2 4D shows that no longer exist in the park.
  11. No the disclaimer was for the store that no longer exists. Any merchandise sold will always have its own trademark disclaimer printed on its packaging.
  12. the trademark disclaimer would relate directly to the Harry Potter store and Saw Maze (both of which are now gone) if you look the trademark list still has Lethal Weapon, Ice Age, and Rio on it (all long gone), They did have some Harry Potter Merchandise in the movie store next to the 4D cinema. They sell a whole range of movie memorabilia in there, even Avatar items. I doubt the trademark disclaimers would relate to the individual merchandise though as each product would have its own trademark printed on it.
  13. They do not have the rights, this is a trademark disclaimer from when the Harry Potter Shop was in Movie World basically telling people the exact opposite - that they do not own Harry Potter, and any reference to it is owned by Warner Bros and JK Rowling.
  14. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1262449/000119312507178559/dex1041.htm "shall be exclusive in relation to use of the Licensed Property in connection with theme parks, amusement parks, water parks and stand-alone themed venues that are smaller than typical theme parks but are extensively themed and contain rides, retail and/or food service, similar to those found in a theme park (e.g., the “Star Trek: The Experience” attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton), during the Term within the Territory. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Licensor may use, or permit others to use, the Licensed Property in connection with a traveling museum-quality exhibition that may be presented at museums, convention/exhibition halls and other venues."
  15. Universal Studios holds the exclusive rights to Harry Potter IP in theme parks, plain and simple. It won't be Harry Potter related.
  16. As much as Harry Potter may be better, it also will never happen.
  17. Doesn't Merlin Entertainment own the Legoland rights though?
  18. https://www.parkz.com.au/parks/AU/Gold_Coast/Warner_Bros_Movie_World/ride/59-Young_Einstein_Gravity_Homestead It was located where the Intencity games arcade is now.
  19. Not sure if anyone else saw this story on 7 News this weekend - It is a positive story about the captive animals at Dreamworld and how the "rapids" incident affected them, though I question the "clickbait" like title.
  20. The only reason I know of the Phantom is because he was always the crappy free comic that came with a lot of showbags at the Ekka
  21. I don't think a comic that has been running for over 80years could be considered short lived, phantom has been around longer than Superman.
  22. I would say it had to do with the maintenance of the tanks. Smaller systems (especially salt-water ones) are very difficult to maintain, and are prone to a multitude of issues. I would dare say that maintaining a tank the size of Shark Bay requires less detailed attention than the multiple small tanks that were in the aquarium.
  23. Jelly fish are definitely not the only animals sea world doesn't have. If they were to get a jellyfish exhibit, I would at most imagine it to be a couple of tanks added to current Creatures of the Deep indoor area, not a replacement for an entire area of a park. Sea world has really been missing a basic aquarium exhibit since the one underneath the current animal adventure bookings disappeared a few years back. I would like to see an exhibit showcasing smaller aquariums of varying types - from the reef (Typical nemo/dory stuff kids love), deeper water animals (octopus?) to freshwater wetlands (maybe freshwater crocs). Ultimately though I hope it becomes an expansion of the current Castaway Bay area with a few pirate themed rides to make it a spot people want to seek out and see, not just an area they stumble upon on their way out from the dolphin show.
