  1. Hopefully, they utilise the audio system for more than one day.
  2. That's the beauty of building a wooden roller coaster. They seem to appear vertical very quickly wood Is much easier to work with than metal. Thankfully they can have a good onsite production line that aids to this.
  3. Does this mean the water feature on the stairs is working!.
  4. Gazza is on the money. Westfields have those options. No need for the park to invest in something that is right around the corner.
  5. Good to see SV have a different film to show. I understand the film is under license. Seeing that its a longer film also should make it really interesting. I would like to see seasonal films. Like around Christmas have one showcasing snow regions around the world etc. The ride has potential its just gotta be given the chance. This is that move in that positive direction. I do hope they keep this film and any future ones on for as long as possible.
  6. Completely agree. Tourism is wiped out for a few solid years at this stage. Companys have lost millions and want to try and save millions also. Different tourism operators will go about this in different ways also. Ah, nostalgia. What would we do without it?. The Longhurst days started the love affair with the park and definitely showed what an Aussie theme park is capable off. It has been covered many times what went wrong and who it so blame about the changes over time. With the way the current financial climate is within the world tho, I don't see how DW could openly and honestly try to get back to those levels of theming etc. That takes a lot of money. It is not the time or the effort that's the issue here. Money makes the world go around. They need to focus on the new coaster. Yes, a few rides have been closed but you can't always predict the end of life of machinery and components. I agree another family attraction is needed. Water-based with a high hourly output. The hotel. Currently, I am happy for this to sit on the back burner. As I think its an expense they don't currently need to worry about. Remember. it will take a few years for the tourism market to cover as you've mentioned.
  7. About time. This new attraction is looking amazing...
  8. Indeed that's true. Coney island was in a massive state of disrepair. So it very well could have been all destroyed. Thankfully that was not the case.
  9. I never knew a whole show existed. I am lead to believe this footage was used in one of those old motion simulators (ride view only). So it is possible it that the footage was taken from this show. I have no idea how long the simulator lasted in the park tho. Great find tho. Nice to see some construction pics.
  10. Due to inclement weather, this event has been postponed.
  11. HA! Exact same reason why a smoke machine was moved from a ride at LPS when it reopened. Memories.
  12. I am shocked if indeed they didn't order a new sprockets. As those things wear out rather easily over a long period of time causing all sorts of extra wear and tear to chains. Boats, chains it's all happening on the high seas now!
  13. It's not affecting anyone (much) So I am the same like @Jdude95. Better to work with a plan when you have one and know the exact direction you want.
  14. Oh, this is interesting. I know much opposition was against this. I don't believe the marquee located in the green actually gets used much anymore. It was meant to always remain as somewhat of green space for people. I have only ever seen one ride utilise this area before the marquee called it home. That was the Coleman & Sons miniature railway back in possibly 2006 of the top of my head during the summer period.
  15. For christ sake. They should have let the professionals do this. You cant get any simple local chippie to knock up a wooden roller coaster even if they have the plans. This could be expensive now.
