  1. Technically though if we're thinking of it like that then DW is more of a 1 1/2 day park, 2 if you include WWW. On an average day, in minutes queues are probably around these ToT - 40 Buzzsaw - 40 HWSW - 40 Claw - 20 Wipeout - 20 Tailspin - 30 Pandemonium - 20 Log Ride - 40 Giant Drop - 30 Motocoaster - 30 Rides are going to take you 2/3 of the day, then you've got the extra things like TI and Corroboree, which would take half a day to do properly, then WWW which is another half a day plus time to appreciate the atmosphere, have lunch, do extra things such as ZE if open or the DW express, that can be just under 2 days with crowds the times above.
  2. With shows it's more of a 3/4 day park. Assuming queues are ~30mins each (give or take for certain rides) you can get all the popular rides done in half a day if you cram it all in. If the queues are ~20 mins I'm sure there'd be time to fit in shows as well. After the new coaster I'd be more inclined to say MW is a full-day park, although you need to remember the 'half-day'/'full-day' system isn't 100% just based on time-frames but is more based on the roundedness of the experience you get. Full-day parks generally give a variety of experiences, such as mixing rides with animal encounters as in DW's case.
  3. Movie World is a half-day park. You can get all the major attractions done in half a day with standard crowds. White Water World isn't really a half-day park for me since its seen more of a part of DW these days.
  4. I was just joking, you've already made an AlexB-length post so your quality seems pretty decent.
  5. Nor have you considered Magnum is built by a defunct company ; )
  6. Thankyou for your contribution, now I don't want to make you pop with disappointment, but discussion has already commenced here:
  7. A woodie for me isn't what the park needs the most, while it would be nice I think there are a lot of things that could be better for the park. After another coaster or two added though, I think the park would benefit well from one. Yes let's add a frisbee and market it as a 'world's best' coaster. Honestly, that idea is awful, especially since you can get a frisbee just down the road. Movieworld already has a fantastic family coaster, as well as several other rides that cater well to families. A family coaster just isn't going to hit the 'world's best' mark. Scooby Doo is certainly world-class for family rides but still doesn't reach the category that this ride has promised us. I'm sure although it will be more expensive than some of their other rides, you must remember that the bigger they build it the more they'll get out of marketing it. Generally bigger rides have bigger payoffs because the GP are generally inclined to believe the bigger the ride the better.
  8. Looks like they're trying to escape the hate Yes it's too soon Plus they could've come up with a better name...
  9. I'd probably prefer to keep it here Joz, it's already hard enough to keep track of all the other topics.
  10. While I understand why someone would be upset, I think you should think about what's happened this week and appreciate the respect Movie World is giving. For a party themed to the dead, it certainly isn't appropriate seeing what's happened recently. I commend Movie World for this mature decision, I'm sure they had made many preparations and had to sacrifice them too.
  11. I wish I could go too, unfortunately I have a conference to present at on Saturday which make up a large portion of my marks for one of my courses and I've already procrastinated practicing for it enough :/
  12. It doesn't even take a genius to work out a person on their first day wouldn't be a main operator for a ride like this...
  13. Ah okay, I've seen single ops cross over the front row of the second car with people in it, and I guess it comes down to who the staff member on duty is.
  14. Buzzsaw's original harness complies with the safety standards, although the seatbelt was added after that incident.
  15. I've never seen that before... The front row of each car has enough room for the operator to cross over
  16. 8-empty seats still leaves a capacity of 24 riders per cycle which isn't below average for a lot of rides
  17. Lots of people are talking about the theme parks for obvious reasons... unfortunately that means I have to put up with the GP saying DW and MW are run by the same people...
  18. Although I can't speak for the park, I'm 99% sure DW have no plans to re-open that ride now, and that date will be pushed back as the months go on. Even if they do re-open the ride, look how long GL took to get fully-checked, I'm sure it would be at least a year.
  19. I doubt the second honestly, although TRRR might have seen its last days, removing the entire gold rush area would be costly and will remove a huge part of Dreamworld history... a decision I'm sure won't be made lightly
  20. Possibly yes, even possibly just changing the Buzzsaw slightly to remove the ghost theme.
  21. Let's not make assumptions... the police will do their job and let us know if they find a cause... assumptions will just make the scenario worse
