Turns out the park has been doing some construction. They’ve built a slab of concrete between the wave pool

While this is sad, I really hope the park don’t remove the Giant Drop. That ride is just as iconic and still packs a punch. If it got to the point where the ride had to be removed, I would hope that they replaced it with something very similar, but better. A DW without that iconic tower just wouldn’t be the same

Another sad day for Dreamworld this year, but it’s no surprise. Happy they were able to make this decision early and announce a date to give people once last chance to ride

@AlexB I tried to, but the area doesn't open until 12pm and I walked around and through the WnW Junior area and could not see the waterfall from any public angle

I popped into the park this morning to have a look around at everything and to see where they could improve the park (and any other small updates) Good to see they've finally updated the in-park maps But despite it permanently closing over a year ago, they still have signage showing it There has been no further changes since my last update on its SBNO A look at the Black Holes works Also, a heap of sheltering has been removed that was covering the tables And the Tornados shade sail has been removed (hopefully it gets replaced before Summer arrives The thing that annoys me most about this park is they partly remove things or don't bother removing them at all ^I really hope they invest in a new slide tower here. It is the perfect area for a great new thrill slide that the park desperately needs. I would love to see a TornadoWave (despite it being somewhat similar to the Kamikaze) it does provide a new experience and is at none of the GC parks. As already mentioned, some of these slides need a repaint Something they were working on earlier in the year is finished and that's the refurbishment and expansion of the deck around the Constrictor and River Rapids Something else I noticed was a lot of the ground needs a good pressure clean. Some of it is very dirty (particularly around the front of the park). And, they need to try and do something about the changing rooms (mainly the front ones) because they are very smelly and slippery. MW for some reason also has this problem.

Are you sure because looking at this satellite image from a month ago, nothing is there still

I would say the only part taken from the lagoon is the bit of already exiting sand

The area that the Vortex is on has not reclaimed any land. Land has been reclaimed south from the lake for Leviathan

Just a tip (which I have mentioned already, but will mention it again). Do IT first, then definitely do Doll Haus. If the queue is long, just join it because it will get much much longer as every who was doing the IT maze joins that queue. Zombieland will likely be one of the shortest queues, so do that 3rd, then worry about the repeat 2 next. If you want to succeed in getting all 5 mazes done and have left over time, this is your best option (Providing you get as close to the front for IT as possible (Otherwise leave it for the end of the night)

@Whombex here you go “Lets hope this doesn’t effect the wooden coaster, Leviathan from opening in December 2020. I would expect construction to start in January at the latest, with it being such a complex build. It’s probably going to take 6-9 months for the build to be completed, depending on everything lining up correctly and it goes all to plan”

I would imagine the construction company building the coaster would be different from the one doing Vortex. I would imagine Coaster construction will begin after the summer holidays. All of the SW website has been updated to say Vortex is coming this Summer

The Hydrocoaster isn’t reopening until November 11. I would imagine there is an issue with the magnets after the repaint. Temple of Huey and Little Rippers has been pushed back to close November 1 and will be closed for the entire month Rip, Bro and Triple Vortex now aren’t reopening until the end of the month

Awesome thanks for that insight. I always wondered what there thought process behind the double door area before loading was. It seems even with the pre-show it didn’t make sense either. At least now they’ve removed it somewhat with the express and single rider line

If that’s the case, we might be saying delays with its opening. Depending on how smoothly the construction process is once it starts. But considering November is usually a very wet month, I’m sure there will be some delays

@MickeyD since you worked with the ride when it first opened, do you remember what the pre-show was and when they stopped it?

Parts may have already shown up, we just can’t see them 😏
