  1. The low wait times, while are partly due to DW never really being as busy as MW, but also because of how good their operations on the ride are. The longest wait I’ve had is 30 minutes, which pretty much went down to the start of the queue, but because of two trains consistently running and the large amount of people they have in the station ready to board, it creates much shorter wait times.
  2. It says that on the website too, but it’s July to September maintenance is still scheduled
  3. According to the parks website, the carousel will remain closed until mid September
  4. Considering WWW closes for the winter next week, I don’t think we will see that gate open until the next season
  5. Can anyone confirm what these enhancements are inside
  6. It was a very busy day at the park, with WWF having the longest wait of 2 hours
  7. The website just refers to it as Native Wildlife and lists the different zones https://www.dreamworld.com.au/rides-attractions/wildlife/native-wildlife/ The directional signage in the park just states native wildlife, but they still have the Corroboree signage at the entrances and within the area
  8. Something I find a bit tacky is the temporary carnival games that got around the park. I’m generally against having them in parks, but I understand it’s a good form of revenue (MW and SW have had them for many many years). If DW are going to keep on having them, maybe they should build permanent ones like they have at the other parks. And if they were too, I’m thinking Ocean Parade would be the best spot. The area between Tailspin and Gold Coaster is such a dead/weird space now and I think installing them here would bring some to life to the area. If they have the burger place open more often, then people might get something to eat and then decide to play a carnival game or two.
  9. I was imagining the ride would be taller than that wall. But looking at the spec of the wheel at DW is just under 5m tall, so that wall probably would be tall enough
  10. I went to the event yesterday, I had the tasting trail that gave me 5 and 2. Great value and everything I had tasted really really good. Portion sizes were great considering it was a ‘sample’. I think I’d they wanted to take to this to the next level, spreading the event out across a greater area of the park and great ‘zones’ of foods like they do in America (in particular Epcot), then that could really lift the event. Adding in a scavenger hunt where you’ve got to find all the Kenny’s with chef hats on through the park could expand the event also. For what it is, I think it’s a great offering. One thing I had some sort of issue with was, because they had all these food trucks and they want people to eat from them, they closed nearly all of the usual food outlets throughout the park. Which I get why, but why couldn’t they be themed too. Just reduce the menu’s and that expands the offering and gets people moving throughout the park.
  11. A Ferris wheel would be good, but the issue with the location you’ve suggested is you’d be able to see over the back wall into the back of house, which won’t be something you’d want to look at. A Ferris wheel would need to go in the middle of the land, so there’s something to look at from every angle
  12. @Slick there was no sign of them and I didn’t notice any fixing points for any to come. I hope they don’t return, but I imagine they will for ‘safety’ reasons If it does return, I hope it isn’t just a standard pool fence. I hope they put some little extra money into a aesthetically nice fence
  13. I don’t think the area feels the same because there are no kangaroos and hardly any people in the area. There’s no much atmosphere. There aren’t any shows or demonstrations because these were mostly targeted at the international audience. If the kangaroos are brought back and they begin to reintroduce the demonstrations (even if it’s just on weekends for now), then that will slowly bring the area back to what it was. Even when the train reopens that might help the activity of the area because I’d imagine some people won’t go back there because it’s a long walk. But a refurbishment of the entire area would certainly be welcomed, but I don’t think is a priority right now.
  14. The koala exhibit has also reopened after its refurb, new rockwork, viewing steps, paintwork and a ramp to provide easier viewing for wheelchairs too
  15. Nope, I’m just a terrible typer. A beach ward is also known as ‘backwards’ Here is that said hut today
  16. The covering is current being stored under the GD so it might return, but with that area opened up more and the train passing right next to it, I don’t think it should return. Maybe they have removed some trees to allow for something new their installing for the ride?
  17. It seems the station refurb is complete. I really like the new signage. And the colour scheme is fantastic. I hope the little train under the clock is turned on again too. Can you spot what’s wrong in this photo (hopefully they will go back and finish it off) And the placement of this guy is interesting They have also rebuilt/patch up the brickwork too
  18. All of the trees within and close to the MDMC track have been removed And I don’t think I’ve ever seen the river this clean
  19. The walls are down for Superman, they are hoping it opens today but they’re currently having issues with the launch. Batwing is about to reopen, people are in the queue they were having technical issues this morning Rivals still operating at reduced capacity, but all seats (including backwards) appear to be working. Currently there is about 5 minutes between trains dispatching Wild West walls is still slow, with quite a significant between each boat. This boat was unavailable but was still being dispatched Unfortunately, the entire Doomsday area is out of action. The only effect working is the water feature. Even simple things as trimming the vines around poison ivy is being ignored On a very small positive note, the sign for Arkham has finally been removed
  20. So other than some rice refurbishments and removing two rides in 2010 and another a couple years ago and adding another simple driving ride. The area hasn’t really changed in 10 years. This area definitely needs some attention. From a presentation perspective, the area is looking much better than ABC Kids World at DW which arguably is even more desperate for a refurbishment and new attractions
  21. I have confirmed with the park it is only $5 to enter the park between 5 and 8pm.
  22. The parents room could also be located left of the entrance where the huts still stand (‘hidden’ behind a wall with some artwork on it). To the right of the entrance to the area, everything can stay and I don’t mind if Tweety and the train stay, but the rest should be demolished. There is so much under-utilised space there that has so much potential.
  23. Some of the slides haven't operated since the incident a couple years ago. Slides 2 and 3 are still closed (according to the website) and slide 1 was closed at one point too.
