The maintenance page does say Slide 2 and 3 has reopened but the attraction page says it’s closed

Is it everyone single coaster on the Gold Coast, or just the adult ones? Because if you want to do the challenge properly you’ve got to go on Gold Coaster Escape from Madagascar Shockwave? MDMC Superman Escape Green Lantern DC Rivals Scooby Road Runner Jet Rescue Storm SpongeBob Boating School

Interesting. Because when I left the park the other day, I exited through the gift shop and out the usual exit door

I checked out Spooky Nights last night for my first time. Overall the event is pretty good and great for kids. I’ll bring down the varying aspects of the event. Parking and entry As expected the Sea World carpark did fill up and they used the overflow when required. We arrived at 5 and just parked on the street, as I’d learnt from previous SW events that was always the best option. They had plenty of traffic control on and they managed the situation well. Entering the park didn’t take too long. We entered through the usual pass holder entrance and even though the queue was back to the road, it was quick. Food We had the Bao buns, foot long Dagwood dog and chips. All very pretty good. And all the other food looked good too. The amount of food was good for the theme park prices. Rides I believe the vortex was down due to technical issues because I saw maintenance staff working on it at 5. Because of the rain, the Vortex was under testing at around 8, but I’m now sure if it opened for the last 30 minutes. Because of the rain, Storm and Nickelodeon didn’t operate for most of the night. Atmosphere A part from some lighting and smoke machines, there wasn’t a lot happening throughout the park. There were a few skeletons, photo ops and the ‘monster’ towers where you hit a button and lights flashed and there were some sound effects. The Plaza was the area with the most atmosphere, with the DJ and a couple roaming characters/dancers. Lightshow It was a bit underwhelming. I don’t know if it’s because I had the expectations it would be to the level of the Carnivale shows. But there wasn’t actually that much water effects. There were a few lights and projections, but not too many. The fireworks was a really good touch and I’m glad they were a part of it. The show was mostly about the characters signing and dancing. The story and songs were pretty good. But as a whole, I waa hoping for a lot more from it.

The bridge works needed to be done for access to Storm. The cleaning up could just be so it doesn’t look like a pile of mess. But if they have done some repainting, that is strange

@Brad2912 agreed. A golden hat and tusks maybe and then do a few full gold dolphins and place them around the park. Then they could make it a treasure hunt for the kids.

Jet Rescue getting work done to its track (and there is new signage for closed rides) I believe this has been like this for some time, but the access path that was alongside the log ride station is now fenced off They are replacing the old rockwork along the old splashdown for the log ride They are replacing the bridges over Shark Bay And Patrick’s is almost entirely removed because of Leviathan construction. All that remains now is the attraction signage and control booth.

You can see to the left they’ve also started building the station (to the right is the maintenance building And here’s a few other shots I got

They’ve somewhat tied the front of the park up, there is some signage throughout the park and they’ve painted Wally gold.
-
That means from November 1, there will be no attractions open in Ocean Parade. Which also means 3 of the parks thrill rides will be closed.
-
They do however still pay someone to update the cartoon maps that are on the signs throughout the park. I’m sure they are given a file that they print from, so they can easily just continue to upload it to the website like they used to. I think their thinking was because this 3D map enables for GPS, it makes it easier for guests to know where they are and how to get to places. But the park has plenty of signage and maps anyways

Working for me on an iPhone. The map looks real empty to the left now that BuzzSaw has been removed. Hopefully they bother to model Steel Taipan correctly

It had been reduced to just one row of the car parks, but there were still a few dozen unavailable spaces

The issue with the single lap bar was if there was an adult and child sat next to each other, the child could easily climb out of the seat because it wouldn’t come down all the way. That was the same issue that road runner had. Yes the new system will slow loading/unloading down, but with the increased safety restrictions, it had to be done

I’ve heard that all this helped the parking situation greatly tonight, but it was still slow getting into the park. It seems like they definitely over sold for the event this year
-
It is indeed, but the carriages are hell of a lot lighter and I believe the train will be going the opposite way around the park, so it will just roll down the hill

They listened!

No, that would be the south side of the tower. The west side is the side facing the highway, east side faces the ocean.

It would have been better if they had at least put some larger rocks and plants, but it seems the budget situation did not permit. But I think it would have definitely been worth while. It was very hot walking through this space too. Some shade and seating to watch the coaster would’ve been nice because it’s awesome watching the train go over you
