That would work to an extent, but because the parking lanes are one way, that red arrow misses quite a lot of parking. Everything I’ve highlighted in blue can only be accessed when you take the outer road

I wasn’t suggesting DW do something to fix the surrounding roads, because as you say it’s out of their control. I was more getting at the council/government need to do something again.

9,000 tickets Round up to 2,100 car park spaces 9000/2100 = 4.29 people per car. So their carpark only really works if there were 4-5 people per car. That ain’t going to happen. They probably needed 2,500 car spaces to make it work. But that still doesn’t fix all the issues with the surrounding roads. It doesn’t help that you have to pass the park entry to enter the car park rows, so that’s a lot of people crossing the road where people are wanting to turn to get to the carpark spaces. MW and SW don’t have that problem as their car parks direct traffic away from the park entry. Hopefully DW have got a better plan and it works better for them this weekend.

Motocoaster is still a thing?

By all the gates he means the annual pass and guest service entries in the middle and then all the ticket booths either side of these entries. I can’t remember exactly but I believe there is around 20 entry booths into Dreamworld.

One thing to note is for years we’ve said on here that DW is lacking in appearance, it was round down and doesn’t feel fresh or inviting. Recently they’ve been working on areas to refresh it and I think this new area definitely is fresh, inviting and steps far away as possible from what the theme of this area was, which I felt was needed.

Something to point out though is they did a somewhat well themed experience with the queue of the BuzzSaw when it first opened, but they didn’t take into account guest comfort and ended up ripping it all out anyways. I think combining that and ST there is a middle ground that would create a nicely presented and comfortable space, with decent theming too. In saying that, what we got does the job, should be comfortable for guests all year round and will have good energy when the trains are full of guests. If they were to go down the more themed queue/area experience, what would people have wanted? The queue area to be rockwork/caves that you wind through and there are openings within that create opportunities to view the coaster launch past?

Letting people in early would be a great idea and definitely help with the issue. While the park might be gaining its reputation back in some ways, making errors like this (which is the very first impression for the event) does not help their reputation and will turn people off from visiting the park during the day.

From what I’ve heard from others, a part from the entry and parking issues, the event is really good

That’s insane, I can’t remember a time when DW was so busy. We’re they thinking because the opened more of the park for the event they could sell even more tickets. Reading through peoples comments on Facebook, a lot of people are unhappy. They definitely should’ve only sold enough tickets for the amount of car spaces there were (allowing for 2-3 people per car) Whats also surprising is there all still tickets available on the website. The next couple nights have sold out, so they better sort out the issues otherwise it’s going to become an unsuccessful event
-
Bloody hell, that sounds like a massive mess. If people are still waiting they’ll get less than two hours for the event. Is the car park issue because they don’t have traffic control to stop people constantly crossing? And have they not got enough staff on to scan tickets?

The websites park map has been updated and they really are using the whole park this year. Interestingly, they are using the old scare maze/laser tag for Kenny Mystery Mansion
-
They’ve always had different colour options, but don’t always change.

This idea definitely could’ve been played on more, but in some ways the queue does tease this idea of building anticipation. Standing in the queue, you can hear the coasters mechanics working down the launch track. You can hear it launch and you’ll definitely hear the riders. There are stalls gaps in the wall (that allow for the canopy structure) that reveal the train as it launches past. And while the canopy hides the majority of the track circuit, there are moments where you get a real good look for the train travel past and at some moments, real close too. When on the loading platform you don’t get to really see any of the track, but you can certainly hear the train, which I think is a way of building the anticipation as you’re about to board. It really is

Superman now closed and Road Runner still has no reopening date

There were still a few sunflowers throughout the park that they hadn’t taken down yet. But you’d think they’d take them down while putting the others up
