  1. That only started yesterday and the parks are always quiet pre Christmas, it’s from the 27th for a couple weeks where they get very busy
  2. What have the queue wait times been like over the last few days?
  3. But based off them having several preview nights, days of staff riding and the hundreds upon hundreds of hours they were testing it, I don’t think they in anyway ‘pushed’ it to open before they should have. I think it was just the usual ‘first few days/weeks of technical issues’ that almost every new ride has had before
  4. What’s the queue issue? Social distancing (because I don’t think they’ve worried about that was for long time)
  5. The wedgie is closed until the end of Jan and apparently the claw and tailspin are closed today
  6. I think we will see a refurb to the ABC area. I think the next major attraction will be on the Log ride land, but won’t be for another couple years.
  7. It doesn’t seem like they are aiming for a summer opening anymore as they haven’t been promoting it and it wasn’t included in the recent summer events email. I’d say due to the all rain, it’s caused delays with the ground works
  8. Only two more rides to go until every attraction is open. I can’t remember the last time every listed attraction was operating (excluding the train under refurb).
  9. People keep commenting that it’s slower than rivals, but only by 5km/h. The speed is more noticeable on Rivals because of the elements throughout the ride, but by the end it slows down significantly. ST I find holds its speed better through the varying elements. I’m glad that very launch of ST is much slower because it allows the second and third to pack a punch. It the launch speed increases were divided evenly, it probably wouldn’t have the same experience
  10. That was a poor choice of wording then if it isn’t opening again until Wednesday. They should have just said it was open yesterday for a preview and that’s it
  11. I also visited the park this morning briefly for another ride. The atmosphere was fantastic. The area was very busy and felt good. The staff had such good attitudes and were getting in on the fun with guests. I went single rider and the queue was fairly quick. The staffs loading procedures I thought were very good and efficient. I know the GC parks aren’t known for very good loading procedures normally, but I think ST is the best we’ve seen in a long time. Having ridden it for my 4th time today, I have come to the conclusion that it is my favourite coaster on the GC
  12. They were running the spinning train all night. It was very popular. At the start of the night they had both trains running. I didn’t do the spinning seats because it probably would’ve made me sick, but I spoke to a few people and they all loved it. The experience will really come down to who you’re on it with, or if you are doing it on your own. Speaking to the ride ops, they said one staff member went on it yesterday by themselves and they were constantly spinning like crazy the entire time. A few photos from the night that captures the queue setup and station Info and queue wait time sign This sign is at the very start of the queue The queue then splits into 4 half way up Where the queue splits to 4 (you can see the orange chain in the bottom of the picture above, is where the general queue returns back down the ramp and back up again (this is the extended queue when it’s busy) These storage lockers are actually the old ones from Wipeout, that has been refurbished The station looks fantastic, especially at night
  13. I was lucky enough to attend the VIP launch event tonight and was able to ride Steel Taipan 3 times in varying seats (back, front middle). Firstly, wow that’s an awesome coaster. Everyone is in for a real treat, especially if you haven’t ridden this model of coaster before. It’s fast paced, exciting and thrilling. I love the triple launch. Everyone might not like it and would prefer a single launch, but I personally love it. The first launch eases you into it, but the second and third launches pack a punch. There is so much more airtime throughout the coaster than I was expecting. Other than the mid course brake run, there isn’t a moment for you to relax, as there are so many components to this coaster. I’m going to ride it a few more times before making this verdict, but I think I might prefer it over Rivals. The coaster was very smooth and comfortable, especially towards the back (which was my preferred seat). The whole area has come together really well. There are a few little details throughout that are a nice tough. But overall, I think it’s well laid out, offers so many vantage points of the ride and is definitely the parks landmark attraction.
  14. I’d say on a quieter day where they aren’t filling every gondola, if someone were just over the weight limit, it would be okay. Or even if there were some kids on the ride with larger adults. But if everyone on the gondola is almost at or over the weight limit, then there would be an issue
  15. That 3D map is still disappointing but at least they have the printable one as well
  16. This looks like a really good addition for the park and makes great use of this large area. I feel like the whole back area of the park will have more energy now that it has seating, a kids splash zone and attractions for all ages
  17. How good does that look. While there is always even more they could have done, but that would’ve required a lot more money. What they have created looks great and for me, is one of the best aesthetics and areas we’ve got for a coaster (I always liked AA, but that’s no more). It looks fresh, consistent, thought out and provides a modern look that will last for years and won’t require refurbishing every couple years. And I’m so glad they fixed that concrete and they are giving the pathway leading towards it some attention
  18. Chances of it opening this Friday in-line with WnWs new tower?
