  1. Money. The park had such low attendance in the winter, I’d imagine most days they would be running at a lose or very little profit. Just look at wet n Wild. They are only operating 3 days a week currently and the car park is still near empty of those days. Usually we’d get the southern tourists who don’t mind this temperature at water parks, but they can’t come to the GC right now. People complained about the park becoming seasonal when announced, but most of them wouldn’t have visited the park anyways. So closing late April and opening again in September was a smart move.

  3. Yep that worked Id say they will start testing all the rides again and getting the park ready for its reopening next month
  4. @Im Hungry image doesn’t work and I searched for their account and it doesn’t appear to have anything either?
  5. It seems like there hasn’t been any major works been done since May. Construction of the station and maintenance building will probably take 4-6 weeks. Then we will have testing for 4-6 weeks. Plus landscaping, pathways, theming and signage. There probably another 3 months worth of work to go at the minimum. So if we don’t see work start up again next month, I don’t think we will see a December opening
  6. @Brad2912 yes I did. Id like to think you already have, but have you contacted the park or asked guest services to fix the issue?
  7. From my recent visits, it doesn’t appear that they’ve started on the station/queue yet. @Naazon might be able to confirm But things aren’t looking confident for a Summer opening. But they might not be in a rush anymore because of the border/lockdown uncertainty at the moment. They might decide to push for an Easter 2022 opening instead
  8. @zacsta_1997 I did an update a week ago. And there was nothing worth taking photos of.
  9. It is a no brainer and would look so much better, but they won’t. With the budget for this attraction, we won’t be getting that at all. It’s a shame because there was so much opportunity for something like that and heaps of rockwork throughout. But unfortunately when they are being budget conscious we aren’t going to get something like that.
  10. For anyone who still thought the train would be doing the loop around Blue Lagoon, they definitely aren’t.
  11. Well played. I’ll let you know when it is.
  12. On my way home this evening, I thought I’d pass by the site to see how it was looking. And I can officially say that vertical construction has definitely begun. And here is some proof
  13. There are quite a few areas in the park that look temporary, but they very much aren’t
  14. Hopefully they landscape around that path really nicely and have some taller ones along that block wall. They could even create an Instagram wall where the path is hard against the wall
  15. @taronga the same could be said for Australia Zoo. They have got plenty of animals that aren’t Australian
  16. I think you’re right about farm animals returning, but I’d say they’ll just use the facilities they already have. Why waste money building something when you already have it.
