Hello, have not posted for a while but enjoying the banter ..not the bullying. What is occurring at moment ( sky voyager or a pull of other projects such as lazy river) would suggest a working capital problem for ardent .If had cash sky voyager would be open. Should never have got to that point if better management in first instance . Should have budgeted and planned correctly. Most businesses fail due to poor liquidity management . In this case they stopped spending due to lack of cash, but in a position where US business is mediocre to cover . Issue is can the existing business keep covering dreamworld ? Ardent is asx listed so eventually decision may be taken out of hands via share price . There are worrying signs here . If something does not turn in short term dreamworld is done. Board would be assessing land value right now vs more spend . Risk and return . Does it meet capital return targets or hoping on takeover like in the past . Does additional reinvestment make this happen ( ie the tower in 96 and hope someone buys the dream like macquarie leisure trust ) Also going offshore for funding does not suggest they can’t get domestic funding . It’s extremly common . Ask any Aussie large cap. Doesn’t highlight anything.

Look up the difference between a finance and operating lease. Rivals is on a finance lease . A payment will be due at the end of the lease term the rv. It’s the way this was financed. Reduces the appearance of leverage in balance sheet but it’s there and most analysts see through it. Keep in mind the land sale and lease back. Yes they received cash but incurred debt for future . No change in leverage there. In that case they will have an option to renew in 50-99 yrs Cap ex spend is high as it’s for top golf. Somewhat crazy to be putting more capital to work when the current capital invested isn’t performing. Focus on your core business. This is going to bad if they continue on this path. The capital raise buys time. -
My understanding is the tower has always had its issues. In fact the gossip was a settlement rumoured after the ride completion given the faults. It has never worked as well as it should have. The reason for tunnel was 1. To reduce delays after rain and 2. to stop water in the wiring. The sensors still fail very regularly causing ride to shutdown . Maybe now instead of resetting they have to shutdown and look at in more detail before restarting . That will not necessarily solve the ongoing issues though.

The sensor was at the start of conveyor. A few things had to line up to be the cause. You could blame one thing (ie staff not shutting down) but there are multiple failures which led to this. Read through the forum page where to educate yourself then come back if still confused. if it’s wasn’t complicated you would assume the inquest to Be over -
Big issue is the distance to those measures to take action. During early morning walks people (staff) are in the park and the guns tranquil or otherwise would be far away. They don’t walk with them. As for pat all i have ever seen is attachment. I hope that would not result in poor decision making. There must be a policy in place.

Not the time or place as it would sound defensive. Im suprised such strong words as shocking was used. Yes I agree some of what we heard was extremely poor practice but would not expect that language directly from ardent. At least they recognise it? -

there is a code for an all park emergency. Not tiger specific. During the days of the turntable was there a blocking point somewhere on the ride to create a distance between rafts? does not appear like it from the video posted.

Thanks for the info on the turntable. I don’t know everything about this ride. I suspect i did not know this fact as it was not used in the 90s. Yes bermuda had one . not sure why the rapids ride would of needed it even with its modifications over years. Any historians on this around ? -

people speak of this turntable . It never had one? If so where exactly . That old conveyor belt. Should have at least been a manually operated positive action not a negative one in emergency instead of always on. Its crazy to think people are so young and put in the supervisor or training roles . But given what the pay packet is for these jobs people with a bit more experience in life are most likely less interested . -

Logic also suggests that the persons effected by this will chase ardent or the governing body. They won’t bother chasing the operators anyhow no matter the inquest outcomes. Not likely to receive any material compensation from them . Best you could do is bankrupt them but what’s the point. -

Does it! Individuals involved all have received external legal advice. Trying to all protect themselves. One would expect the operator and trainer to contradict. I’m interested to hear if the operator was told about that unload estop. the overarching factor remains the outdated system and the fact it internally and externally got signed off especially without recommendations being implemented Logic suggests at least after collision .otherwise would not have happened. When exactly after the damage would have been done already sadly . -

Thought the person who got fired turned of pumps. Sounds like you could turnoff either or both with good reason and not get fired. In this case you could of said ducks in trough if smart enough. Sounds like this accident occurred due to human error but still does not account for why human input (trainer or operator) had to be so involved in the operation in theisday and age . Best practice should have avoided that. More automation should have been introduced over time in a pro active risk culture environment. At least longer training. But most people should understand 2 buttons in 90 minutes? Did the trainer really say don’t worry about the red button and go to the senior operator? Jdude was that asked ? -
