Stranger things have happened, and it was rumoured for a very breif period. Still can't go past this being for the old thrill seeker site though, since that is what has been on the cards for about 3 or 4 years now.

Probably not the whole answer, but before the day Richard went they were spending allot of time looking at the restraints as well as having the ride not rotate. Probably just the sort of restraint testing you'd expect to see on a new ride.

Tell ya what, if the rest of the park is as good as the way you've done the entrance then I'll be very much looking forward to this. Keep it up man!
-
Or like the cars on an Intamin half pipe..
-
Nothing special, just small slides in the middle of the kids pool. Maybe a meter or two tall.
-
With a 10% rise in attendance and per capita spending up? Good call Slick.
-
The water park is open. Its now two water slides, the pool and kiddies pool (with kiddie slides). Its just the public liability insurance unfriendly Tower which is closed.
-
Well, last I heard was a plan to mix water park with an animal (Seal) exhibat. I've honestly not heard anything else, though I haven't been paying all that much attention either.

Ok, entering via SW nara, here's a rundown of what the operations department charges are:Monorail transfers from Dolphin cove to Broadwater Cafe Dolphin Cove show $3,500 Bermuda $3,000 per hour Corkscrew $1,500 per hour Monorail Transfers from Mid-station too Broadwater Cafe $400 Thats not even going into the cost of the venue or food or drinks. There's quite a bit of money in it if you get a few of them.

Yeah but Wonderland closed 3 years later. Its arguable that the Marvil contract was only for Sunway Lagoon anyway.

Certaintly, you know how much I love a drink. Listen up kiddies, Tequila Sunrises for a good basic drink. You don't even have to worry about it being a chicks drinks since most chicks wouldn't drink tequila. Back on topic: Tell ya what, if Dockside tavern was an all night bar I'd so be there. I've had a few happy nights drinking there and reckon its great. All Dockside needs IMHO is a pool table and a better sound system and it'd be perfect.

Geez, do you think Reef Discovery will still be going when we eventually get a new ride? Do you think it'll still be there when we get a new anything? Get with the program sir. Also isn't blackpool open year round? Building a coaster over the western side of the park. Hmm, interesting idea, but I can't see it working. I'm guessing what your talking about is a launch from the Eastern side of the ski lake, then crosses that and goes towards the over near the helipads, does its stuff there and coming back? I think really there's more chance of dredging the area and putting in something on solid ground rather then putting in a coaster in like that. Still, keep thinking, and I promise there'll be an idea I won't just say 'no' to straight away.

Warner owns Hanna Barbera, so thats where that all comes in. I still don't get why they couldn't re-new the contract. Is there still a Warner Brothers Studio there?

Special Events don't make that much money, but if there's heaps of them, the contribute quite a bit of extra cash. If this chapel attracts more functions then it can only be a good thing, and its not as if that Island is making any money for the park as it stands now. And don't tell me that a cruise on a paddlewheeler by night to the chapel, then on again to the reception venue isn't a cool function option. ToT doesn't make any noise at night, and that's when most of these types of events take place. Everyone's just pissed cause they wanted a flyer.

Ask and you shall receive Firstly having a roller coaster going over the carpark could present some issues. Legally I'm not sure Seaworld is allowed to use it for anything other than a carpark, since I believe Seaworld only owns the carpark up to the monorail, the rest is council. Also being a high traffic area (with cars and guests) may present a problem as we all know about people who leave things in their pockets while riding. That could be overcome by placing the track in a tunnel, but that would be a huge eyesore. I'm also wondering if there's any implications from having a roller coaster so close to the helipads? Another problem presented is that the speed required to circumnavigate the park would be pretty high, and from what I'm lead to believe, Seaworld has a height restriction of about 3 stories (which is why Nara is as low rise resort). This could be overcome with a launch, but who are you going to find who can make a launch that works reliably at the sort of speed needed? Plus in either direction it would run very close to the Ski and Sea-lion show, so that'd have to be enclosed or separated from the area in some way. Going up to the resort, well, if there was a coaster right up the back of the park then there'd be plenty of pissed off people staying at Nara. Perhaps you could throw a brake run/second hill in next to Shark bay, and having it drop and turn sharply to the right (think the second lift on Cali. Screamin' and you've pretty much got the idea) so it squeezes in-between Shark Bay and Water Park, and then again in between Bermuda and Dolphin cove, around the corner for the finish. The final problem that comes to mind is keeping the parks support roads (and even the carpark to some extent) clear of supports. That could present a bit of a problem but without actually consulting a manufacturing company its hard to tell how much of an issue this is. See, I've had this idea before, and have had a whole heap of time to think of why it wouldn't work, and some solutions for said problems.

Hate too say it Slick, but you did bring it on yourself. You know something but can't make it public? Then don't bother everyone. The bragging rights you get after everyone finds out aren't worth the irritation it causses.

Why keep the movie connection if they're not allowed to reference any movies? Thats like Seaworld keeping the sea life theme if they weren't allowed to have animals. Very strange indeed...
-
Well, Seaworld has sort of confirmed that there will be a new Seal Enclosure eventually. I'm guessing this is the 'Seal Rocks' idea, and will be on the old Thrillseeker site. If that turns out to be the case, then it'll leave a nice plot of land on Cartoon Beach, which I think would be a great spot for a Road Runner style (custom of course ) roller coaster. Since the thrillseeker got replaced, there's been a bit of a lack in intermediate thrills, and I reckon that style ride would be well received, just like it has been at Movieworld. That'd also preserve the vacant land over near Corkscrew for something later down the track.

Welcome to the boards Micheal, interesting to hear about your time at Top's. What was it like working there? Good people to work for?
-
Freefall is at Seaworld (and was at Wonderland). WnW doesn't have a speed slide any more either, it is now 'speed coaster', which is basicly the same thing but with tubes instead of being a body slide. Out of the options listed, I'll vote for freefall.

Let me see here, the question was does Demon need the second lift to complete the circuit. After the question was answered, it was noted that in RCT it does, and it was mused that the idea probably came from that game. The consensus from there was that RCT isn't all that accurate. Then you jump in and say RCT is a game. Well done Einstein. You saved us all from thinking RCT is reality. Ok, so we all knew its a game. It was a kinda dumb thing to say, so I made fun of you, while throwing in that FD sucks (It does, that chick getting hit by the bus was the only thing that film had going for it). Ok, so from this conversation we've discovered that Demon needs a second lift, RCT physics aren't accurate, RCT is a game, and that your (apparently) not stupid. Move along.
-
Hang on, its a game? Your kidding!! Well der, next you'll be telling us the Earth is round, the sky is blue and Final Destination is a crap film.

Why do they have such a major peice of equiptment if they only use it for 2 weeks in the year? It seems to be popular (heck, even many people who don't know much about carnivals know about it), so I can't see why they don't travel with it. Does it cost more to transport then other rides?
-
AIR is what I'd call a solid experience. Not the best, but still very good, and instantly re-rideable with a fair capacity, and near universal appeal. Kinda like Cali. Screamin' at DCA, in that its not the best, but its still very worth the effort. IMHO its underrated. True its not the best themed, but it is still quite well landscaped, making it a rather pleasant area. The restraints are comfortable, and aren't too restrictive (They are restrictive, but I'd hardly say that's a bad thing since they have to fight gravity to keep you in your seat). You board just like an invert, and when you pull the restraint down, your ankles are grasped by leg restraints (which you don't even realise until after the fact). The vest is just a part of the restraint which you pull down. As for would it suit DW? Well, I can't see it working all that great as a tomb raider theme. The most inappropriate theme possible for that style ride. As a ride on the Island? Yeah, I can see that working. Put in a whole bunch of tunnels, close calls and your cooking.

I was wondering if anyone else was having those thoughts. Many people came out and said it'd fit in very well with Ocean Parade, and so I didn't want to come out and say anything, but its crossed my mind a couple of times that the themeing seems a bit mismatched. There could very well be a very clever tie-in, but I can't quite see it yet. Totally would've been better if it was placed in the spot Farmyard Friends took
