  1. Pretty much my point. If it's so important to do something with those letters, that's about the best we'll get. I'd rather see those $$$ invested in improving something useful around the park.
  2. There's no benefit to spending money to remove the lettering from the tower. And very likely cheaper to rename the remaining ride to "Tower of Terror - The Giant Drop" if you wanted to be pedantic and utilise the existing words that probably no one outside the enthusiast community worries about.
  3. We had a mask mandate back in January. But agree, hard to tell what October will bring.
  4. A good summary of the series for those without time to watch it all. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-03-31/luna-park-ghost-train-fire-calls-for-new-inquiry/12420940
  5. That actually fits quite well into its surroundings, very unobtrusive being timber.
  6. The new ROW for the Dreamworld Railway runs that side of the tower. It also requires earthworks, so perhaps they are doing that at the same time as the retaining walls for Steel Taipan.
  7. Holy shit! This is Law & Order made up style stuff, not what happens in real life, except it did. If you haven't watched it, stream it on iView. I won't spoil it on here.
  8. It'll be 8.30pm local time. Even iView works from your location (unless you tell it you are somewhere else).
  9. The plans linked in this post show that the workshop track will be moved slightly, to maintain the connection. Also shows the new mainline running between the Tower and Motoc..zzzzzz 😴
  10. People also find 10.30/11.00/11.30 etc times easier to follow, than 10.50/11.10/11.30 etc. The dwell time also allows for delays along the way and being able to get back on schedule. I'm not sure that the Dreamworld Railway falls under ONRSR control either (I believe it's classed as an amusement ride and not a railway), so mandatory rest breaks may not be required like they are for other railways.
  11. Based on your description, DC Rivals may not be a go for you. My wife fitted your description and she can't get on it. Scooby is a maybe, so is Superman. Green Lantern may also be a no. As said, only DC Rivals has a test seat. Last visit I actually failed on it (just) but passed on the train.
  12. Probably helps that the ABC props department is still using stuff from that era due to the funding cuts.
  13. Starting at 7:20 it looks to almost hit the top brakes.
  14. I think the price and lack of care is what scared people off from donating. Ask a grand and they probably would have sold easily.
  15. The organisation I'm involved with didn't operate last year from March till late December . Neither did most of the other organisations on our group insurance plan. But we had to pay the full amount of insurance last year, despite 20% income and visitors. And this year, our premium has gone up dramatically , but at different rates to others on the same group plan. Sometimes it is just the insurance companies.
  16. This end bit looks to have been the workshop, as there is a gantry crane in there. The main shed is the yellow part, which @themagicianhas said has also been removed.
  17. Thanks. It was a few months ago when I was talking to someone about it, pretty sure it's at a college for training & resto. I'll ask again next time I see that person.
  18. @themagicianany sign of the Baldwin? Heard rumours it's off site, possibly getting work. Its former colleague edges closer to going back into service.
  19. Looks like the very end of the shed, a flat roofed extension of sorts. The main shed being the angled roof still visible. There is only the abomination and its carriages, plus the Baldwin steam loco still on site. So they likely don't use the whole area available anymore.
  20. If it is permanent, will it require proper footings sunk into the ground (I've never seen one in person, permanent or portable)?
  21. It's certainly not AA related, seen them there before years ago.
  22. Transfer track for the Superman train I believe. Allows the carriages to be removed from the building.
  23. I held a long term interest in rides, particularly the engineering and mechanics, before actually riding them. Was a lurker on the previous version of here before I first rode Cyclone.
  24. We'd part with $20 for a photo with Bluey and Bingo if we had a guaranteed time spot. Just won't buy four dreamworld passes.
