  1. I doubt all the issues about the headaches could be fake, there have been way to many reports (mostly on facebook and some here) to just be a scam/lie from some people.
  2. Sentosa themselves uploaded this so I do believe this is real.
  3. It was seen mostly on Maters which was meant to have a much higher level of theming then it currently does. So its not opinion its a fact that they cut spending back in parts of the land. Plus it wasn't a complaint, just a statement.
  4. Lets just hope they havent cost cut too much, as I know they cut back on much of the land to ensure RSR is at a high quality.
  5. Its because J.K is very protective of the Harry Potter brand and is very strict on what can and can't be done with it.
  6. You might want to post at Shyguys World. I do remember seeing this set before but can't remember its name.
  7. The Ride Sim website now contains a new ride sim that is from our parks. The have chosen to make their latest ride sim on the Scooby Doo spooky coaster. For those interested here is the link. http://ridesims.com/simulations/scooby-doo-spooky-coaster/
  8. Melbourne is most likely to have a domestic theme park and sydney an international. Also the amount of Airports does mean a thing, its the size that matters just look at LAX.
  9. Almost no other ride has as many problems with pain from the restraint, even other SLCs so why does this one coaster has so many issues. also the OTSR don't always need to be so big just look at Intamin's ones.
  10. Well there is one way to solve it. Just make the seats like any other inverted roller coaster instead of getting brand new untested seats.
  11. All I can say is nothing can be as painful as the Powersurge at Luna Park Melbourne.
  12. These seat although comfortable seem like a huge hassle and more then half the time something is going wrong with them. Sure they are new but this is horrible.
  13. guess you have never been during school days at the park. Luna Parks runs a program on curtain days of the week where schools visit and the students do work sheets on the physics of the rides. On those days you can get up to 40 minute waits for many of the rides and the park is very very crowded.
  14. the one in singapore was most decided on my the owners of Resorts world sentosa, with Universal only giving the right for the branding and designing the parks attractions and lands, Universal didn't choose which rides and attractions to build. Neither do they currently run the park.
  15. ok. I can't find exactly where the actual release notes, but here is a website that summarised what was in it. LINK It states that Waterworld is to be replaced by a new attraction and the gibson amphitheatre is to be replaced by a new attraction or smaller venue. This page was mostly copied from the old Website for the project when gave away more information about changes to the park. Its part of the NBC Universal Evolution project. LINK The current website is very light on information it gives about the theme park.
  16. I think there is more chance for a park in Sydney then Melbourne due to bigger population and higher tourism numbers, I could see Paramount being very similar to Universal due to being very similar in terms of movies as well as age. Six flags would be alright but would only made an impact if they built a B&M or a large coaster as the Goldcoast has some fairly good coasters. Also they better have better management then at Magic Mountain, who let their ride and building become run down, and as seen in the latest West Coast bash by TPR, the management don't care about guests, only money. Cedar Fair would be better then Six Flags, but they wouldn't make as big of an impact as Universal, Disney or even Paramount.
  17. I doubt they will include Waterworld in any more of their parks as they are planning on removing it at USH anyway (actual fact not rumour). You can add to your list Harry Potter, so they can get an audience on both sides of the world. As well as Jurassic Park. Well the reasons for wanting Universal is the Atmosphere that they create in there parks. For example they have characters just walking around the streets, unlike Disney who only does meet n greets. Their theming is about the same as Disney and some times better then Disney (sometimes they can be a lot worse but most of the time they are the same or above). They seem to be able to build attraction a lot cheaper then Disney. Their rides are a lot of the time a lot better then those at Disney, with a lot of the highest rated rides being from Universal Parks and lastly they provide a great balance between Thrills and Theming. I am willing to be that if one of the two giants (mostly Universal) they will change the way most people view theme parks. Currently our parks are a long way behind the US park or even China and the UK, well almost anywhere). The IOA style Universal parks keep all crowds happy, with something for kids but older people can still go on and enjoy and rides for the older people who enjoy high thrills. Also about the Disney Cruise line sailing in Australia. It appears that Disney were planing on sending on of their older ships either the Disney Magic or Disney Fantasy out here as they were looking to build a wharf at White Bay in Sydney, where the government is currently constructing a new cruise ship terminal. Negotiations were confirmed by the Government and Disney, so no idea if Disney has anything to do with the current building working there or the government just got the idea from Disney. In short we almost got a Disney Cruise Line ship.
  18. Yes I know that. It was just something I read ages ago and thought I should include it. Also Disney themselves have said that they are looking into building in Australia but are looking to go into another market first. An email I recieved a few years ago stated, that Disney is looking into locations in Australia, although we are currently focusing our attention on another market first. A few weeks after I got the email Shanghai Disneyland was announced.
  19. Well actually it was there own fault that the park was failing. So it terms yes they were stupid. I have read many thing over the years about Disneyland Paris and it failure due to Disney Management. Firstly: The Parks name at one stage was Euro Disney. By using Euro out the front it sounds too much like money, due to the currency being Euro. (Opinions of some Europeans in a report I read some years ago. Secondly: The park had nothing that was unique and with WDW a short plane trip away, with a lot more rides and attractions. Therefore why Disney had to have the huge expansions to give people a reason to visit. A better park to give an example of is Disneyland Hong Kong. It is in a country with over a billion people, which also neighbours the second biggest nation has been a massive failure, leading Disney to again make a huge expansion. Disney haven't opened a successful park or resort since Walt Disney's final piece of work, WDW/Magic Kingdom. Before anyone says Disneyland in Toyko. The park isn't run by Disney. I don;t have much faith in the current Disney management, who seem to have forgot the Disney feel for things in recent years. Just like California Adventure which went against Walt Disney's reason for building Disneyland, (to make a park that was not like a regular board walk amusement park).
  20. Yes its a big number but its nothing, compared to what a major brand could bring in.
  21. ok that's just a matter of perspective. If you turned one of the buildings they would both be the same.
