  1. Winterfest Nights... It seems they sold a lot less tickets this time despite selling out. Previous complaints were about the extensive queue times but they were not too large (excluding tot2 having a 2 and a half hour wait. I managed a ride on tot 2 with a 5 minute wait but that was just 20 minutes into the event. I also managed Giant Drop twice. Only one side was operation but the queue was 10 to 15 minutes so I wasn’t too bothered. Buzzsaw had a small 5-15 minute queue most of the night as well so I got one ride on that. The cheap fake band was subpar at best, I didn’t really enjoy it and the audio was extremely loud. The toboggan had a queue for the majority of the night. The food stalls included a fairly floss stand and 2 other stands as seen in the video (gourmet hot dog and another stall). This was a bit of a let down seeing they were advertising food trucks but oh well. Dreamworld’s food market had a large queue (due to slow operations) and had doughnuts, sausages, wine and pretzels on offer. All the lighting was great and good looking. Dreamworld pulled out the large spotlights that make the event feel alive. There was a lot of filming going on, especially by @Slick. Overall the event was great and a step in the right direction. The CEO and COO were also in attendance.
  2. I was there a few days ago so it must have only been recently been moved to the site.
  3. The only activities in that area is the panic room and a terrible photo opportunity.
  4. I’d love to see passes like that introduced at Dreamworld and Movie World e.t.c. It would make more sense at Movie World as Dreamworld would most likely make the savings from buying 5 year passes redundant during an adults at kids prices sale... However, it could still work if the discounts were of good value and other perks were introduced based on the length of your pass. I can’t really see this working at Luna Park though, there isn’t enough on offer but I guess locals have no alternative.
  5. So we can stop putting the blame on Dreamworld for not opening it on time? Also, did DC Rivals have to go through this new process when it opened or is this in relation to the new amusement laws that have come into place only this year? 6. Went today but didn’t stay until after 5.. The event is practically the exact same as previous years (excluding the night event). It also seems that there were less characters roaming than previous years.
  7. Hop and hoot is down for maintenance and has been taken away.
  8. Takeaways from Winterfest - - The previous Wipeout merchandise store has been transformed into a european style "food stall". - Seating is out the front of the Wipeout. - The theming is extensive turning Main Street and Ocean Parade into a convincing European Winterland. - Winterfest nights is going to be amazing looking. - The theming ends at the Corroboree and past Main Street Station. - Kenny and Belinda have winter outfits. - Two ski characters roam. - Two people can taboggan at one time Overall the event was better than I expected. It really is refreshing to see a new theme completely taken out at Dreamworld, not half done. This attitude of going all out is what Dreamworld need to stick too if they are going to recover soon. It really gives the customer more reason to visit Dreamworld. The theming looks good and not tacky, especially the semi-permanent food stall.
  9. Wild West Falls and SDSC are much more immsersive.
  10. I was thinking it was the same show but obviously I was incorrect because those rides above where the only major rides operating apart from a chair swing which wasn’t open. Mudgeeraba Mania had a great variety of rides and carnival games which this show didn’t have. There was only 3 carnival games to choose from. Ride tickets were also 8 dollars.
  11. Thought I’d quickly post about the show tonight. Tickets were 5 dollars tonight but increase to 17 for the weekend. There wasn’t much going on. Mostly food stalls and rides. Casey Barnes performed. Unfortunately not many people attended possibly due to the wet weather. Vendors weren’t getting much business as well as the ride operators.
  12. None of these are my photos. Credit to au_dreamworld_fan on Instagram. CED048A7-BB65-470B-B789-3743F5640FBB.MOV
  13. Admission is free though.. and the ice skating is an additional cost within the unlimited ride pass.
  14. Tower of terror is down for maintenance again. (08/06/2019 - 13/07/2019)
