  1. I still wouldn't call that "General Structural Maintenance and Upkeep". Village have a long way to go with PR. With GL no harm in advertising why they don't have an opening date and why they are waiting. With AA, if this is the case, come out and say it, tell us what part is replacing and why the extended delay.
  2. My sister managed to purchase some tickets on an already "Sold Out" day.
  3. Is that Tridents foundation/ride pad? Will we expect to see ride parts arriving soon? Its only 7 months until opening.
  4. Yeah what I was thinking. And I think that area is theirs. Wasnt that the spot they want the hotel?
  5. Maybe parts are now available / arrived in Australia
  6. If that was the first weighted test, it makes sense it is a less intense version. It also seemed quite short I thought the cycle would be around 2-3min seeing as it can hold around 38ish people per cycle, which would put it at the same capacity roughly as Storm.
  7. Wet N Wild could also update the location map for Mammoth Falls while they are fixing the park. Pretty sure that picture is of Mach 5 Web address in pic for proof. Hidden bookmarks as they are all work related stuff.
  8. Do it. Then just build a multi-story car park, but really far away so it doesn't dwarf any of the rides. That would be crap if a building suddenly made Green Lantern or even Rivals seem semi small. Just modify the roof. Make it like the Seaworld Monorail, would make it more intense / attractive as it would capture the sound too.
  9. What would peoples thoughts be if they dismantled Arkham and replaced it with a temp ride or 2 like what they did with Sky Flyer at seaworld for the 2-3 years while they finalise the ride and wait for the build time themeing of the new ride would be minimal, even at VRTP standards to keep unrequired costs down. They mean Sliders. VRTP have reviewed Wet n Wild and decided that it really needs new food outlets, and sliders are the best option. Water slides at a water park aren't actually required.
  10. I'll bring this fun one up gain, but Mad Max is in full swing with a Furiosa movie in pre-production + more Mad Max sequels written waiting to be filmed (at least 3 from memory). You could very easily turn that area into a run down dystopian area and possibly expand back a little, but building a sound wall to not disrupt the studio, making the sound wall look like Yosemite Sam rail road / Road Runner rollercoaster style.
  11. There is a lot of promising reports on vaccines being out in 6-24 months time and world wide economic downturn so I'm sure national government and state/local government want drawcards being built to drive tourism dollars, and manufactures want to keep operating so long term agreements could be a thing along with a very very low interest rate to borrow against. So keeping that in mind I'm hopeful that its sooner rather than later.
  12. I've actually never been on it, so would like to one day.
  13. Surfrider is still listed for a 6th December return. They have a month to piece it back together, test it and open it, apparently...
  14. I've not heard a Huss one what do they sound like compared to Wipe Out?
  15. Honestly sad to see go. My son Loves seeing Batman looking over the park "making sure everyone is safe".
  16. Horrible. Needs more water features, open air and palm trees
  17. Gonna break this down. First paragraph you took issue with the the research company being the same company for 2 different sets of research. I see where you're coming from but remember people tend to use the same companies if they like the service/cost. No need to change for no reason. What they did with the results is as displayed. But also I'll remind you they have always intended to open to NSW in November, but decided Sydney was too risky. The rest is personal opinion so I'll ignore that Letting in a select controlled cast of movie stars (assuming you're referring to Tom Hanks here) allows the production for a whole film crew to start back up. not rocket science. On the health aspect, risk is super low. High profile so they can't break quarantine or everyone will know, plus its low numbers of people, paying for their own quarantine. On an economic aspect, a heap of people are now back at work. AFL front, similar but larger scale. High profile, so when they broke quarantine and their bubble it was in the news and they were punished. AFL paid for everything also so economically it makes sense too. The Airlines are welcome to run routes between the open states, SA, WA, NT, TAS, ACT. It was literally only 2 states barred from QLD. The other point is those businesses require 'tourists' in large hard to control numbers, often with low profile. That is a large health risk. Things are obviously changing now, with VICs reports coming out cleaner than NSW so we could open to VIC sooner than Sydney.
  18. No, but simple math. If the light is red and you announce they can't go on the ride because the limit is 120kg, are the over or under 120kg.
  19. Thats a great idea but maybe leave out saying the weight limit part. People can get upset by saying their size (more or less) publicly like that
  20. I'm not saying you're wrong but if you could provide me an example of a contradiction that wasn't the cause of a spike in viruses / a new cluster, that would be great. I'm more curious to be honest as I've followed this closely from a life and work perspective and didn't see anything to show that. Labor have generally stuck to their guns. (annoying for work, good for life) LNP however has constantly backflipped on the QLD border and don't have a national approach, seeing as the NSW premier (LNP) said the QLD LNP leader would have opened the border already if elected, and the QLD LNP Leader (at that time) was saying the QLD Border closed was the right move.
  21. Wet n Wild have posted the dates of opening up the rest of the slides, excluding Black Hole and FlowRider. Looks to be a progressive re-opening with AquaLoop first, Calypso Beach following, Mammoth Falls then finally Surfrider in early December.
  22. Its been there a few times. I saw it there in August too.
