Umm.. who is joking about people dying? The ride isn’t open as it has defects and can’t be registered. A defect in a ride can result in deaths. That is a fact. A shop doesn’t require registration by a regulatory body to be set up.. that is fact. Pretty simple concept to understand. if you stopped trying to be offended and playing the victim all the time Push, you could actually be a half decent contributor here...

HWSW's train is stuck ...
Brad2912 replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I’m sure there would be a joke in there somewhere had HWSW retained its previous name... -
Not sure what they used as a base, but it is designed on the New 52 comic line, and looks impressive in person

I don’t see another operator being overly interested unless it was at a bargain place as the park would largely need a broom through it. Theyd maximise their land value by selling to developers if the council/govt indicated they would happily rezone (in exchange for copious land taxes). I personally think we’re stuck with Ardent until the decide they want out, and then we have nothing at all..

Viable yes, and i imagine it would be a reality if the long rumoured/planned hotel ever becomes reality. I don't imagine they would have massive issues with planning permissions providing it wasn't above the 3-4 story mark. The introduction of it however would certainly bring with it the beginning of paid parking.

completely agree Alex... funnily a comment made by the DW CEO on the call this morning in response to a question on their price increases was: "We were surprised how "elastic" the market is with cost." When asked to elaborate, he said that them increasing their prices didn't seem to concern people and alluded to his thoughts being that people would pay regardless as they want to visit.... he also mentioned once SV opens and has had time settle, that they'll evaluate whether their value makes a further price increase relevant...

Ardent Leisure Group HY19 Financial Results

Apparently... depends how long it takes to fix the defects... nothing like spending $20m+ and your ride can’t be registered due to defects.... -

No other majors rides or attractions planned currently though the master plan will include a roll out strategy when it is completed -
Ardent Leisure Group HY19 Financial Results

Yep.. just listening in. Someone has just asked in the first question. SV - construction was 4-6 weeks behind needed for Christmas. Ride is finished except for some defects which are being resolved before the ride can be registered. They hope this will happen “in the near future” capital light focus on entertainment offerings to bring local/pass holders into the park more master plan underway with focus to increase profitability on a much smaller footprint - analysing what/how land can be utilised for commercial and residential development. $5m per annum reduction in expenses (read: less staff, less operating hours) -
There goes the shop... Also not understanding the fountain of improb votes on my previous post? I took the photos, so they have no improbability haha

Took this on Saturday... same costume. Not sure if that is the same batman however, the cowl just looks wrong on that guy...

Of course the small things matter - but they currently don’t have rubbish blowing down the streets and broken toilets, so my suggestion is not - “let’s no longer collect garbage and fix broken amenities in favour of having a big coaster”, it’s made on the assumption that the status quo in “small things” currently is upheld with the addition of something big. DW probably knows better than anyone that from little things, big things grow.... faulty water pump wasn’t it.....

Surely the principles of running a hotel are identical to those of a theme park... 🙄🙄🤪🤪 -
I think DW is past “smaller details” being able to bring back people. DW need big, audacious “you can’t help but pay attention” changes and additions to bring people back. agree on staffing at MW, it’s terrible, they need to invest in training, or recruit the right people to start with. I had someone tell me at Gotham Burgers the other day that my premium membership is no good for the monthly pass discounts - these only apply to one pass holders, despite the memberships being the highest level pass, and the website clearly stating “‘memberships and one pass”. Despite this, and showing them the website wording, they still refuse to discount. Needless to say I wasn’t impressed

Movie World DC Hypercoaster plus sized harness fit?
Brad2912 replied to Immisa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Thank god im not the only one... i didn’t know wtf was going on last time I rode on The Claw (first time in well over 12 months). I know I haven’t put on weight, and whilst I’m not the smallest bloke I wouldn’t call myself overly big, but I struggled to do it up. Good to know it’s a change in their end and my scales are not broken, nor is my mirror lying to me -

Yes, they were the children of the deceased but that isn’t relevant to this lawsuit. -

Couldn’t agree more, the problem is that it appears Ardent don’t have the people in decision making/overall strategy positions with any theme park nous whatsoever. I don’t think they have the knowhow or the actual desire to commit the funds to do what it will take to turn it around.
