  1. I’ve actively avoided having another child since my son outgrew BRC for fear I’d end up having to repeat 4 years of that god forsaken ride. My partner will be over the moon when I tell her it’s time to start trying again....
  2. Maybe the engineers don’t want to come over here and quarantine for 2 weeks before doing work??
  3. Seems highly unlikely. VTP has already said it won’t/can’t open until they can get the ride manufacturers out from Germany, which in current COVID regulations is impossible. Even once they arrive, it’s still a 5-6 week testing period. summer holidays would be the earliest opening imo... and even that may be fanciful..
  4. Who is going to lend them tens of millions to repay an existing debt? No one. They couldn’t even get finance prior to having this new $70m liability on their books
  5. Dreamworld has 5 years to pay back the $70m loan. Going off how little profit they were making pre-covid, they’ll need more than a coaster to make that feasible, especially without any international tourists and limited domestic
  6. Now repeat after me: “I will not post on parkz when I’m drunk”
  7. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/business/gold-coast-theme-park-owner-village-roadshow-close-to-finalising-deal-with-bgh-capital/news-story/e641f79673a6806dba008d549e2b794c
  8. Expecting more coaster pieces to arrive? Repainting the carpark lines? Making room for a drive thru covid-testing facility?
  9. Good. Sydney metro residents were already restricted, and I don’t think people travelling from rural nsw were really making up much of the current attendance numbers, especially now the school holidays are over.
  10. Sounds like a costly exercise for what is a non-event. They’d be better off pretending this test doesn’t exist and doing the 10 year thing next year (though I am sure it’s been going for more than 10 years, I’d swear we are at 11 or 12 years?)
  11. Each tree has been individually inspected. Trees are only removed if these pose a danger to the public or are in the way of an approved development. A couple of the 17 will be modified/have certain branches removed etc but not be fully removed, you may find the one by the parlour falls in that category as it’s not in the way of the coaster development.
  12. Council has just approved an application for 17 trees to be removed. A few are for the construction of the new coaster, and some are due to recent large branch falls onto what would be high traffic areas had the park been open.
  13. Fair enough, We’ll put it down as Lost in Translation...
  14. Hey @TomiJ rather than writing about your apparent disdain for me in an edit reasoning... how about just hitting the block button buddy, then you won’t have to see anything I write... have a great night and stay salty...
  15. Who is attacking anyone? It’s a conversation. you can express whatever you want, but these are discussion forums so people will question or give commentary on what you post, good or bad. if you consider someone questioning you an attack, then I best suggest you learn to deal with it as it happens in real life not just on forums and you’ll find yourself in the foetal position your whole adult life if you regard conversation & questioning as an attack...
  16. So you don’t pay attention to developments at a park that is part of the largest theme park company in Australia, yet say your comment is in reference to big parks in Australia. so what you are saying is you didn’t think one of the parks in Australia would get a woody because no other big parks in Australia have woodies? did you think the same when MW opened DCR? No other park has a hyper either.
  17. Don’t know how you just realised unless you’ve never looked at the concept art, or read the press releases, articles on the website. There are plenty of wooden coaster around the world, including refurbed and new installs. woodies offer a strong point of difference from steel coasters and a unique ride experience.
  18. FWIW, I spoke with a DW employee today who I know through my business, and they’ve been given a tentative reopening date of Sept 18.
  19. Right.... 1. everyone shows naked. It isn’t shown on prime time tv. There was, over a decade ago, an up late version of the show, but that hasn’t existed in the time you’ve been alive by the sounds of it. 2. they are not told when to eat, when to go to the toilet, but they are in a game, so they play by the rules of the game. 3. your parents give shit advice that isn’t factual, remember that as you get older and make your own opinions.
