  1. No, that was definitely a Craig Davidson and Gary Weiss idea. Thomas left very quickly after the TRRR incident
  2. That is huge and looks amazing! What flavour is it? @Tim Dasco
  3. Anything after Leviathan was announced for SW. Didn't their old GM have that as the last ride he had his hands on before handing over to the current management team? I think it's worth asking the question of how big of a part they have to play in these decisions. Are they actively looking to improve the park or just happy to sign off on any viable ideas that go across their desk from other members of the management team.
  4. When I've been recently I've heard a few staff say some of the closures were due to staffing issues and that it's been more reliable but that only shows when you've got someone to run it.
  5. And the snowy maintenance team would crawl all over the running ride. Times were different when we relied more on darwinism. Everything seems 'safe' until it's suddenly not anymore and the rules have to change.
  6. Prior management tried to re-commission the mine ride. New management closed down the old money pit maintenance heavy rides and built a new, kick-ass, coaster. It's not massive but it's a big improvement from the way it has been forgotten run for the last 10 years. Doesn't mean it still can't end up as the Dreamworld Parkway Housing Estate in years to come but it's a step in the right direction.
  7. Wouldn't it be easier to update their maintenance page to say unexpected actually operating, at this point?
  8. Magnets are a pretty crazy at doing their job well for long periods of time
  9. If there's anyone who still believes this, I don't think changing the title to "unconfirmed" is going to help them
  10. Let's cram people into this small wooden shed for an event? I really hope this is just an idea and not a locked in plan.
  11. Oh not at all. Dreamworld has also been plagued with attendance issues since 2016 so it's very optimistic to assume it would be packed and queued as far as Sky Voyager for example. It still would have been nice to see larger crowds than what there have been. A lot of factors have gone into their low attendance and with their razor thin margins at the moment, we (I?) can only hope that the attendance improves enough to at least build the next ride they have planned. Steel Taipan is great but if Dreamworld can't get the attendance and ROI, it alone is not enough to save the park from their current situation.
  12. It's slightly disappointing that Steel Taipan hasn't attracted bigger crowds. Rivals had queues as far as Justice League when it opened but Steel Taipan hasn't been more than a 15 minute wait any time I have been. Their operations are pretty smooth and quick but that alone isn't why the queue is so short. I really hope it starts getting the crowds it deserves. Though I am liking that I can ride Steel Taipan without much of a wait.
  13. Six Flags Magic Mountain is open 10am-1am around their halloween events and a regular entry ticket gives you access to the full 15 hours of the park. MW can't close late too often as they have residents nearby that complain at the drop of a hat. DW as far as I'm aware have the ability to run up until 9pm but choose not to and generally they aren't busy enough for it to be feasible anyway.
  14. If I had a VR headset I'd love to give it a try and see how it compares to the regular POV and how it compares to riding. Could be a good way to prepare potential riders for the spinning
  15. Aww, so many people loved to wave at the op in that booth Oh cool, they brought the Harry Potter Platform 9¾ exhibit back
  16. Wow! Looks great with all of the work that has been done
