  1. If I were operating the park, I'd do things much differently, but there's a reason why I'm not. I still can't shake the feeling that there'll be an ABC Kids World retheme sometime within the next few years, with a couple new flats and maybe a dark ride or kids coaster (in response to WoO), then not a lot else besides events and maybe a different Sky Voyager show til at least 2026. Thing is, at that point they may already be decommissioning one of their older rides, or perhaps decide towards updating it into it's own mini-section if they deem it the better option (cough cough Motocoaster).
  2. That is true, but those quick-succession investments have already begun with Sky Voyager and Steel Taipan, both of which were riddled with their own financial problems. When they do more, it'd be safer to assume they'll be gradual, thought-out, perhaps cheaper investments catered towards kids and families than the extensive, aggressive, park-wide expansions we'd all hope for. I'd love to be wrong, but it just doesn't seem like a realistic expectation to me.
  3. I mean, that'd be ideal, but before Steel Taipan the last thrill ride was Tailspin 7 years prior, with the last thrill coaster being Buzzsaw 10+ years prior. Obviously it'd be ideal for them to ramp up new projects again, but realistically I wouldn't be surprised if it took another 5-10 years.
  4. Yeah nah that's definitely wrong, unless they've randomly decided the lift hill is now a launch and they're actively trying to tear the ride apart, 9News is just advertising the wrong speed. 105ft lift ≠ 100km/h.
  5. Well the journey through it will be something I've never seen before, so safe to say I'm pretty excited
  6. They even replicated the station and maintenance buildings from the model too!
  7. You seem to have forgotten that Movie World's is going to be the Southern Hemisphere's first multi-type coaster
  8. I'm being sarcastic, because when ICON opened it's own spinning seat in the UK, people seemed to entirely forget about Steel Taipan just cause the UK is a larger region.
  9. I can't wait for people to just forget about it's existence once a 2nd one opens in Europe or the US, as they've done with the 'ICON Seat' on Steel Taipan.
  10. If this is the one part of the concept art that they stick to, I'll be pissed. Even just having it blue like I said would make it fit in much more and not just be a useless wall.
  11. Yeah, so if it's a nice mural (like the DCR ones or better) and not something bland like just plain blue panelling, I'd be fine with it. Honestly, I was half expecting for it to just open without any buildings or facades disguising the coaster anyway.
  12. If you were just headed to one park, Dreamworld'd be the best one. If you want to go to 2, however, my opinion's be to do Movie World and Sea World (over W&W, but because of it not being good weather like Whombex, and just cause of Sea World being the better option generally). Far as crowds go, no matter whether it's Dreamworld, Sea World or Movie World there will be crowds on holidays, but in my experience Dreamworld feels like it comparatively has less (likely due to its sheer size).
  13. So long as you can still see the coaster above it, I'd be fine with it being a mural tbh.
  14. It'd make sense given the clearance testing I saw, them checking it's joints, and the pouring of entrance pathways. I thought the same, testing'll probably commence sometime soon (can't wait to see the trains).
  15. Doesn't scream an existing franchise to me, so I wonder if it directly relates to a maze or if it's just something they've made to fit an aesthetic and tease.
  16. Maybe they've just got slightly better seat moulds or something? I feel the same, though, but I thought that it was due to a ride op having me push the restraint down full force every single time I went on DCR, but Steel Taipan being a breeze. My only hope is that this is them trying to finally 'fix' the back row, if not then that's a bummer cause AFAIK it's been inoperable for longer than the price hike.
  17. Exactly. I think the 2 main issues it has is that it has nothing to make it pop out when boarding, so it's just matte black in front of more black, and that it's height is great for those who are shorter, but in the 6'-6'2" range it's the perfect height for it to not be obviously in front of you, but for it to just clip the top of the head. So, if anything, it's these 'adults' that are ending up doing so if they don't find a better/easier way of warning.
  18. That was my guess, that it was something not related to the park as it'd be incredibly difficult to route any path there, let alone a temporary one. The one being constructed, or the ones already there? If by already there, I thought they were a part of the film studio.
  19. Interesting, I didn't notice that. Haven't done a maze before, but it seemed a bit too small to me. In any case, I doubt the original building'll be for that purpose too, as that'd be too far away from any existing guest pathway, or am I wrong?
  20. Sorry to go off-track, but you've just reminded me that I also saw an under construction building last time I went to the park. Don't have any pictures of it sadly, though I tried, as I assumed it was only viewable from DCR's raised brakerun (where I saw it). Don't know if it's the same building or not, but it was pretty close to the turn into station. As for what it could be, if WoO takes up enough space to warrant their removal (which, from what I can tell, it does) maybe it's a replacement for this building? If not that, then I don't have a clue.
  21. Yeah, there was that, but I'm thinking more about how in April they specifically got a permit for a 'Legoland Renovation' (or something to that effect). No matter if that pans out or not, though, ABC Kids World really needs it. And this'll hopefully push them to do it sooner and better.
