Actually albert I think you may have missed some of the recent happenings around here... The anti nature toward that site is a bit deeper than on face value. Paul was actualy trying to get some quite negative stuff going about R-C and our host Richard. Something us long term residents aren't too impressed with. I also have a thing against all of these sites that really offer no info or insight whatsoever. Like if you're gonna set up a site dealing with defunct parks you might actualy want to get some info on the parks other than common knowledge and some photos not taken in the last 3 years!

LMAO "Zoomerang" I might run a competition for the most **** ride name ever... I have a hunch it would be run by the same guy!
-
Dude the guy is just telling us what he knows/has been told...no need to come accross sounding so harsh. I also very much doubt this is true (would be very hard to accomodate such a thing with the design of the ride), however we can only wait and see. Welcome to the site!

No Joz 'My Bar' is not some secret hidden away at Seaworld it is in fact an upmarket style bar located underneath Shooters. Aparently that is where <> spends much of her time behind the bar. Be certain to give her my regards, I certainly don't think she's forgetting my wallet at least in a hurry Ask her for a Blowjob if you're game, leaves the Jellyfish for dead. If she doesn't remember try ordering a 'Midori and Cranberry and stuff' drink, that should jog the memory LOL Catch you soon man. ...bummer we never did make it to that secret bar though
-
I think it's more a case of wherever 'her' bar happens to be

Where does he perform? You'll have to tear me out of Shooters one night to go see him next time I'm up... Hopefully that won't be too far away.

I went with my mate Nev, Richard and Joz to Movie World last monday the 14th feb. Here is my thoughts on the current state of affairs of the park... I'm not going to go all on about how well themed it is and the quality of the rides because we all know that already. We certainly managed to fill a full day even without going on some things and with Lethal being down. We made sure to see Police Academy and as usual the show was great. Crazy mike was a crack up doing his pre-show stuff and I really don't see why people recon this show is outdated and needs to go, it's still doing really well. Perhaps the sets could do with a slight touchup and maybe do something about that chopper pole but other than that she's fine. I think Scooby is getting to the point where it needs some decent attention... A fair bit of the theming work through the que has been attacked and somehow the door handles next to the ops panel have vanished exposing the foam underneath. In the laser room the main laser on the lift side wall is down as is the one that greats the tunnel effect before you go down the final drop next to scooby. Time for rehab! WWF is in the same state, it's actually getting pretty bad. The large printed mural behind the Indian camp looks like crap and is faded and torn. The effects in the ghost town need work to get them back up to scratch also. The biggest let down for me is the fact the end lift and show is STILL IN ITS QUICK FIX STATE! Come on guys, you got the insurance money and this has still not be restored to its former glory. 2 pieces of steel sheeting, a mirror and 2 70 buck strobes don't cut it for me. Lets get the sparks, cannons and large anamatronics back up there already. Other than that the park is in pretty good general shape but it is time some time and money was spent on getting the existing rides back up to scratch.

WB Movieworld Trip Report 15th Feb
rappa replied to bigglesworth003's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Funny because Joz, Richard my mate Nev and myself were all at the park on Monday and we managed to spend a full day there just fine... I agree and disagree with some of your comments but will post something up tomorrow when I have more time. -
Thats funny...do people not flock from all around to go see the pyramids and venture into them all all that stuff? I'm not disrespecting thier beliefs however I am not respecting someone attempting to control a piece of nature...And last time I checked they are not buring people in the massive hollowness of Uluru
-
Okay I have to say this after following this thread for ages... SHUT UP ALREADY!!! This argument is just going in circles and not achieving anything at all, find something more productive to do with your time.
-
Not really... it's a big rock, thats it. If people want to have their beliefs about it then that is fine and I respect that but it doesn't mean we should all be forced to share them. IMO I don't think anyone should have control over a piece of nature.

Well I lit the owners Birthday party at the MCA a few months ago and they all seemed pretty pleased with how the company is/was doing so I don't know about them going bankrupt...
-
No they are 2 qualities that "X" has! It's the prototype and its at probably the most poorly maintained high profile park there is. What chance does it have? Of course if they build another they are not going to have the same kind of problems. Just look at the fact that "The Bat" was torn down and "Ninja" is still running fine to this day...
-
I was refering to "The Whip" which by the look of the site I don't think they have built any yet.

Joz is right Bus. Sorry if I wasn't clear yes I meant you should be able to see this stuff. I'll admit I did see a few bits (if you can call the heavily camo. show building for Indy BOH) on my last visit to Disney but I was really looking. Amazed me the first time I went as to just how they hide it all. Like WHERE THE HELL is the show building for Pirates???

Yes SFMM is a good park for rides but it lacks atmosphere. For me there was just too much there that isn't operating or has been neglected which is a pet hate of mine. Having said that I did wait 3 hours for X the first time I went and didn't regret it at all, in fact last November I again was happy to wait 2 hours to get on that one of a kind wonder. I also left out DJV, get in the front seat (no matter what they tell you), it really is something you have to try! As for Knott's see if you can top my 50 rides in 1 day whilst still doing everything else See if there is a weird old guy riding that just stays on, that is Richard, tell him his aussie friend says hi. In regards to Vegas I have been there both being over and under 21. I did have a blast out on the town last time but I still very much loved it when I was younger in 2003 too. You can do heaps and easily fill many days. Be sure to spend hours watching the fountains at the Bellagio, BREATHTAKING. Go up the tower at Paris for a different look. Ride ME at NYNY at night for the experience (go the front) but yes after the first drop it does suck with the exception of the diving inversion. Speed at Sahara is a top notch shuttle coaster, beware that 12 times can make you sick In the Adventuredome there is an Arrow looper which while mild and simple is very smooth. Do Big Shot and X Scream at Stratosphere but unless you're after the credit dont bother with the coaster, it is ****! That's the only thing I would say not to bother riding everything else still give a go even if people do tell you they are crap. Whilst in Vegas (in fact get them before you go) get Tickets to BLUE MAN GROUP, its the best show around and I gurantee you'll love it.

I can't say enough good things in favour of staying AT Disney. I don't know your budget but last trip I stayed at Paradise Pier (got a good rate of expedia) and it was fantastic. Just that whole experience of being right at the park just made Disney easily 10 times better from me than we we travelled each day from LA. Disney is easily my favourite park and I really didn't want to leave where as on the previous trip I only found it okay. It's easy to get to Knotts as well from Disney. I recommend as you say going up to Universal as well and saying in that area as it is easier than travelling the long distance. I would say that if you have the time you SHOULD go to SFMM. True it's the lesser of the parks but well worth going to if you haven't been and I always think it's better to make up your own mind about a park. Also there just isn't anything even like their coasters here or at the other parks (Calif. Screamin, Xcel and Ghostie exluded). Get a ride on Ridlers, X and Goliath, they really are something else. To get there there really are 2 options...Tour or car. A transport with VIP tours (they suck but don't even come close to being as bad as LA Sightseeing who told us we couldn't go and we should go to Knotts because it's just the same anyway) will cost you about $40US plus entry. Hiring a car depending on your age will likely cost you close to $100US with your fuel, a bit less if your not lazy and refuel it yourself. Really depends how many of you there are as to what is more economical.

I would put it on par with Universal level, Jurassic Park is pretty cool but it has its fair share of Back of House ugly bits too... Interesting that Story has been brought up, whilst not really a comment on the theming it certainly is a big part of making a ride 'Disney.' Very funny how you describe a Disney story Alex, it's so true...although you missed the part about going to the evil hell type place, seems to find its way into every ride there!

What slides at WnW are not AWL? I am yet to see ANY waterslide in this country that isn't built by AWL... From what I've seen AWL have another prototype up on their site, my guess is this is planned for WnW at some point. I think we are in real need of a Master Blaster, a toilet bowl and a tornado slide here...
-
Well whilst it has some damn good theming and IMO is a first class Australian ride, it doesn't really even touch on Disney Standard. Same as Wild Wild West, its fantastic and as good as you will ever get here however Disney would kick its but. For starters you wouldn't have a big ole shed sticking out of the back of the mountain and they would have had that theming replaced long ago in the top of the mountain which as far as I know is still not back??

X, an eyesore?? I think X is one of the most visually impressive coasters I have ever seen. That's just the track and then when you put that massive winged train on it gliding around it just looks brilliant. I would love to see one at Dreamworld but I doubt they will take the plunge. IMO What DW should be getting is a massive B&M standup, ala Riddlers. I won't go into too much detail as I have said it before but this would be the most unique and marketable to the GP than anything else.

The two parks a different, get over it! I wish everyone could just for one week manage to not try and work out which of something is BETTER. Clint *wishes he cold say case closed - locked* Dulieu

Perhaps someone told fibs to him about how much they were gonna bid so he gave up...
