Does anyone have any new pictures or updates? Would love to know what's happening.

Why not both?

Who are you referencing when you say "Dreamworld?" I'm saying that by all indications it seems as though Weiss had pushed for changes that were out of scope and they didn't have any additional delivery lead time as a result. It's not like marketing are going to question the information that they get given about launch schedules, it's not their department. And no doubt the state regulator is not going to be rushed in light of the inquiry.

The project has had multiple changes that have massively changed the overall scope. To put it less eloquently, there's only so much you can do as a project manager if the client keeps changing what they want, which has clearly happened when you look over previous interviews about Sky Voyager to now. Perhaps if they had kept to the original plan that the previous CEO (Craig Davidson) had that didn't involve scrapping the facades and keeping to the original size of the cinema they'd still have enough fudge time to keep ahead of the unforeseen issues they seem to be facing. Instead, we had Paul Callendar on record on the 20th December on the PCL interview saying that they were still adding things to the final film just days before it was supposed to open. To be honest, it sounds like Weiss made some major changes to the project when Craig resigned, whilst expecting it to still be delivered on time. And let's be clear here, I dunno of too many $17+ million dollar rides that were conceived and built within 18 months, let alone under 12, let alone under 6. Even if you're a multi-millionaire, you can't just throw extra money and manpower and expect them to be solved on schedule.

"Hey, it's Dreamworld, I know it's a day or two before Christmas, but we need a run of 10k park maps done, some billboard footers redone..." "Yeah, everyone at the office has taken the Christmas week off, so it wouldn't hit production until mid first week January after New Years. Do you have the artwork ready?" "Well, no, our whole team has taken the week off too." Rinse and repeat for who-ever's doing their ad-buys, who's producing the radio segments, looking after Digital spend (Adsense etc.) - I actually feel for marketing here, they've been dealt some average cards & they're the ones copping it despite it not being their problem and having to deal with it with no support.

Agreed - pobody's nerfect. Modern marketing & communications is about creating a conversation - the biggest players like Universal & Disney have mostly abandoned the veil of secrecy for this exact reason. While not directly related, this Forbes article also highlights how brands can actually create higher satisfaction by solving customer's problems well than customers who had no problem to begin with.

Noted! It was a stylistic choice but agreed, can be done better in future.

Ultimately I was quite happy to not have any protestors in the clip. The group that I reference throughout the clip (JFC) for all intents and purposes are not willing to have a dialogue with anyone, and to be quite frank, I feel that their plight of activism is rooted more in self-validation than a want for animals in general to lead better lives. That's not to say all activists are like this either - I don't regard it as an us verse them battle - there's definitely merit in having robust discussion with anyone and everyone to ensure that efforts are continued to better the way we conserve and rehabilitate animals in general.

Cheers for the kind words mate! :)

For those curious - there's a rebuttal piece going up today that debunks a lot of the activist's misconceptions.

Different manufacturers set out different advisories for different rides, as such there's no blanket rules beyond localised lightning storms, and even then each park has its own guidelines on when things close & re-open again.

That pathway is so cramped. 😕
-
That's where they're putting in the go-go dancers.

For the record - If people want to waste their time writing bogus reviews then that's fine, kudos to you for the creativity. But when their responses start becoming abusive and offensive that's where we draw the line. We've removed a whole lot of posts here. Rest assured no one has missed out on anything other than a bit of fan fiction. 🙄 Every indication I have is that the ride has only been experienced by Brogent employees as the formal handover has not yet taken place.

You didn't, and I never implied you did, so cool your jets. In saying that, saying "Buzzsaw is stuck again" does imply it's some sort of common occurrence, especially after it's huge downtime, hence my cautioning, because AFAIK it's been running pretty well the last few days. -

I wouldn't jump to the conclusions yet - it looks like it might be a pretty typical ride fault. Something like this could even occur due to something outside of their control e.g. Rivals stopped on a lift hill. due to a local power outage. -
Let's all calm our farms - i've had to hide a few posts which weren't necessary. The key will be just how good the film is, I think. If it's not up to scratch that's really going to hurt chances of wanting to re-ride.

Dreamworld / WWW Update

With all signs pointing to Dreamworld being downsized, or, at the very least, having a large parcel of the excess northern land sold, it severely reduces their ability to compete with a similar product, which is what they desperately need after Sky Voyager. As it stands, every reputable theme park on the planet is spending big, big money on large coasters - they should follow the trend, especially given they really haven't ever had a quality continuous circuit coaster that enthusiasts would rate. I'm not sure the current owners will invest that kind of money, however they spent the extra money on Sky Voyager to completely gut the facades and make the ride bigger, so who knows. A more likely option to happen with the current owners is probably retrofitting or refurbishing an existing ride to make it more thrilling. -

A lot of folks who don't make culturally insensitive remarks like yours would, actually. -
I wonder how many holiday makers know what it is?
