  1. Nah, from what I heard there'll be "NO" advertising for Wet 'n' Wild for the next month.
  2. From what I know the park has basically given me the 18th of January for a possibility for an opening of the Mach5 Waterslide Zone. Don't take that officially, but considering how much work they've done I think it'll be definitely around there, if not a few days after.
  3. I'll agree with Jimbo here, haven't ridden it, but it's in a very classy park and it definitely lives up to hype within the community.
  4. Like all rides (hope adam is reading this, he's gonna love me when he gets back) especially new conept designs, they're expected to have teething problems. Tower of Terror, The Claw, just about every new type of ride type that's innovational in some way will have problems in the first year. Even rides that have been done over and over will still have teething problems with programming and mechanical faults. It's just sort of the norm regardless of how much testing went on prior to opening.
  5. I think it's case of "the park hasn't confirmed a date yet." Of course you would be disappointed, but the park does maintain that launch dates are only estimates, so there's really no point to be chucking a fuss about it.
  6. I personally think it was a very stupid idea for Knott's to do such a thing. The entire structure is designed to withstand so much, especially the top hat given its design, so unless Intamin went "yep, push the hydralics to the edge and hope none of the valves burst" it was very idiotic for such a renouned park to see if they could make Xcellerator 40 odd more kilometres faster than its normal speed.
  7. And it'll be good then because if it runs longer you'll be able to attend an eviction and not have to start another thread about this, right?
  8. Bear in mind that if you have read the Media Release, with the exception of the Wave pool, all the slides will be a new style never before seen in Australia, so if Wet 'n' Wild is getting a funnel waterslide, Dreamworld isn't.
  9. The current Dreamworld advertisements are available off their website, however, the content in no way what so ever should be reproduced unless you have in hand permission to do so. Parks spend hundreds of thousands in professional camera production and hiring, not to mention voice overs, editing, and songwriting etc. And yeah, I remember seeing the advertisement a few years ago on a VHS, and I gotta say, the park in some instances looked alot better than today's result.
  10. One post and already he's looking at the same road that Kyle did. One thing to keep in mind, try and keep your spelling up to scratch, alright? I'm way too lazy, but there was a recent discussion about accidents and whatnot somewhere, so instead of wasting my time, just hit search at the top of the page.
  11. I think the sand/seal/paint layer over standard cement (like what The Claw has) is a great idea considering the sand gives the concrete grip when its wet, it keeps the cement cool and the colour scheme (again like what The claw has) is very aesthetically pleasing. The only downer about this stuff would be that you'd need decent paint for it to properly last a long while i.e. longer then what The Claw's ride paint and sorrounding paintjob has lasted for.
  12. Lisa, what's better, Medusa (a themed ride) or Scream! (SFMM's clone on a parking lot?) Seriously, theme parks are for themes. And themeing is there for the atmosphere for a good park, but hey, if you want no themeing, and "just" a ride, hell, you go enjoy your "theme" park. Do you honestly think that themeing doesn't make a ride? What do you have to say to Walt Disney then? Why was Disneyland such a huge success then? Most of the actual rides themself suck, but coupled together with an intriguing and innovative design concept and it can almost take guests into another world. Now, how many people here would think Scooby is a great ride "if" the entire ride was just bare bones? Not many.
  13. Even then the video is longer then 20 seconds fool. Seriously, if you don't care about themeing, then you're not an enthusiast. Just look at disney, if they didn't care about themeing they'd just be another carnival. No atmosphere, no class. A ride is never a trully excellent ride if it's upkeep, sorroundings and general themeing isn't maintained. A good example would be Pirates of the carribean at Disneyland. One of the oldest thrill rides in the park, then yet it still is one of the best and funniest rides in the park.
  14. Nope. Crowds that were almost doubling Dreamworld's from what I heard were hitting Movie World and they still were able to keep queue times to a minimum.
  15. Actually, I've heard if you play this arcade game near the entrance called "scale the big sharp fence" you can get in for free.
  16. I thought most of the country was cheering just then?!?!
  17. Which makes you a hypocrite because you seem to have two sides. Ben "what is this, captain obvious day" roach.
  18. And to think my jokes are even topicly accurate.
  19. Saying it once more and maybe actually getting the message out is alot better then doing nothing... just like alot of other "active" posters on these forums.. right?
  20. It usually runs into june beause the season has started later in the year for what.. the past four, five years now? Also, the hotel is able to forfeit your accommodation to "paying" guests if you don't meet or make the time you're supposed to arrive. But hey, I hear those local busses have great air-con.... or so I hear atleast.
  21. It definitely does, Dreamworld sucks in terms of coasters, no doubt about that, however while Superman is a fantastic ride, it's no bee's knee's in the general market of coaters these days. Seriously, I'm getting really annoyed how we've got people in the community who are shamelessly plugging this coaster at every which chance they get, and then saying that some of us are being defensive because I want to knock myself out with my remote because I already see the Superman advertising on television too much. You guys need to start to start licking each other's butts less and just actually enjoy what this whole "community" was all about. Seriously, I'm getting so sick of having to type up several hundred word responses because someone's taking cheap stabs at Dreamworld because they don't cater to just one market at the moment.
  22. Oh, deer god, seriously dude, wow, one of the worst threads ALREADY this year. First off, you've booked accomodation on a hunch? Seriously, from what I know they'll start BB late feb/early march, so we have two scenarios, either A )you'll miss it by a week or B ) taking into account that housemates have stayed in the house for more than 90 days dependent on the season, you'll miss it by a week. I'd believe you except for the fact you've based all your knowledge off what some magical Dreamworld fairy told you, and heck, those Dreamworld fairies just can't be trusted sometimes.
  23. I have a question about these calendars, what kind of resolution were the original photographs, how big will each photo be and what type of camera were most of the photos taken from?
