  1. Most deaths on rides come from not following the rules anyway or because of the accident happening near the ride (for example, being hit by a coaster train)mechanical faliure isnt the main cause. And even if it is the cause, it seems mainly on carnie rides.
  2. No, the dummy cameras would discourage vandalism because people would know they were being filmed. It wasnt a themeing idea. However, for themeing, just continue the devistaed city idea, Beams bent and at odd angles above the queue, ambient sounds of sirens and sceams in the distance, random flashing strobes to look like sparks from snapped power cables. Abandonded geiger counters going crazy detecting radiation, fog being spurted from broken mains, Bent and ripped corugated iron on the roof that looks like its been wrecked. A soundtrack that builds atmospehre and just scares you. Prehasps some hidden equipment that makes sharp noises of things breaking and colapsing and of course, some damaged toxic waste drums with pools of painted toxic waste around them.
  3. Why would you complain about someone coming to a perk every weekend, he would buy the food, and has paid for the season pass, so he is making the park money, and in turn paying the wages. And also, i belive the queue vandalism issue comes ahead of the launch speed issue, and vandalisim should be fixed up, there is no exuse for it. Maybe they should stick some dummy cameras in there, that should discourage people a bit.
  4. Yeah, you thought Blue Fall was big.........
  5. Cool, I can get some decent pics of Pyrenees.
  6. Well, we have had lots of talk about exreme rdies for the park, but what about smaller broad appeal rides, what would people put and where? Also, would goldrush have space for a new ride?
  7. Plus it has broader appeal, and seriously, how would you market it? the GP would just think it was the normal pirate ship, or would just compare it to something like the hangover, A waste of money, there are other rides i would rather see at SW.
  8. Could they pump extra power in to make up for any losses caused by the rides ageing?
  9. How much could a new computer cost anyway? $20000, $30000, they would make that much in a day.
  10. I know it is owned by MLT, which is kind of funny because they have a waterslide named the tunnel of terror, they must have been real short of ideas. I would like to visit sometime, they have some good rides, and thats pretty good considering they are in an isolated city smaller than sydney and melbourne (and then people turn around and say a big park wont work in sydney even though AV works in perth)
  11. Well, the other record is creating "structural and design history" which sounds a bit vauge, its not as if i go "OMG, i gotta plan a trip to DW, GD has created design history, and the gondolas are 8 across, man that is soooo cool! the only real record it has that's at all exiting is its tallest freefall record, and even then its just 12m ahead of its nearest competitor.
  12. Cool, you didnt fail to let us down when it comes to captions. I got a laugh reading the tge Las Vegas gallery in the bit about wendys burgers being square, I remeber seeing and advert for one in an american magazine and thinking it was really unnatural. Also, what is so good about krakens zero g roll?
  13. So alex, with all the footers you saw. how were they arranged? were there lots of little ones like on a coaster, or were there big flat ones like for buildings, or a few large ones like a flat ride.
  14. To telly you the truth, being the first freefall to have 8 across seating is a pretty crappy record,
  15. Flyers are not suspended all the time, what about the lie sections of the ride, you are just trying to be to utopian with your ride choices, if the rides are so similar then why are they seperate products? why do all the SF parks, and AT have inverts too? Eureka and Cyclone both run above the track, but I never heard you whinge about them being to similar. I never heard anyone complain that WL had two woodies.
  16. Saftey has nothing to do with it, it used to go higher, so why not do it agin, plus there is a brake right at the top to stop in an emergency. And what about Impulse coasters, they get right to the end of the track, its not like the TOT is in RCT and will shoot off the end and fall backt to the ground and explode like its made of ethane. I dont see how running it a bit slower would make much of a difference to power consumption in the scheme of things. it might be the equivalent of having the park open for an extra minute a day. Well, why dont people stat doing something proactive about what they think of TOT and GDs queue, write a letter instead of complaining the same things we have heard before and have agreed with.
  17. Gee, not for at least another 20 or 30, maybe even longer if they overhaul it.
  18. Yeah, DW should build up some more lift hill coasters before its next launcher.
  19. Gazza

    TOT recreation: NL

Yeah, an NL treack, just unzip and go.
  20. Here is my recreation of the TOT, I didnt bother with a screewn, everyone knows how it looks, anyway, enjoy.
  21. Lethal weapon and cycone have better layouts, but are too rough, but corkscrew is smoother but it has a less interesting layout. My vote goes to LW just for its size.
  22. Cool, if they are looking , lets all suggest a B&M to them, send a letter. Delirium does not go all the way around.
  23. If you were looking for an inverted launch coaster, Intamin would bethe wy to go, they Built Volcano: The blast coaster, a four inversion ride at a paramount park somewhere (cant remember which one though)
