  1. I've found billiards to be painfull sometimes, especially when a ball comes off the table and lands on you toe or you forget you've got your thumb resting near one of the pockets and someone hits it hard!
  2. It depends on the overall weight of the people in the tube. I've seen some larger people make it pretty close to the top. It isn't exactly thrilling but is fun maybe once or twice. I know this is getting a bit off topic but does anyone have photos of the speed slide or whatever else used to be where Speedcoaster now stands? Thanks,
  3. All these tents, so little shade. When we were there last January, the ground literally burns your feet, and there is hardly any shade what so ever! IMO they should build a shelter thing like the ones between Mammoth Falls and the wave pool. The queue lines need shade cloths over them or something too. (The ones at the bottom of the tower. There's lots of things I could say but it would take years. Anyway.....
  4. I know they don't really need one but it would be nice. At the moment, I'd rather visit Dreamworld more often than Movie World, mostly because they just have more of a variety of rides. Sure Movie World has some great rides, and more coasters than Dreamworld, but it's just not as appealing.
  5. My first question: WHAT THE HELL IS IT? .....Now that's over with, I think most people would agree that Dreamworld needs a new coaster and I doubt they will build one in such a short timeframe. It's unlikely, but you never know.
  6. Are theme parks really meant to be relaxing? Sure it's good for some of the adults, but what about families that go there. SW really needs a new coaster and it's about time....
  7. You guys always manage to find the most random comments even if they're a year or so old.....
  8. Yeh, that sounds about right. They had to apply to council for the whole thing. Went past today and everything was pretty much packed up. Only a tent or two still being pulled down and several trucks being loaded with stuff. I'd say there'll be no sign of them by tomorrow.
  9. Big News! A film crew have set up on the beach about 10 minutes north from where I live at a small place called Cabarita Beach. (Sometimes they have surfing events here and occasionally movies.) Anyway, I drove past and was wondering what all the fuss was about. I'd heard they were going to film a helicopter crash on the beach/headland. I thought to myself that it would be interesting to see but I didn't realise that it was actually part of the filming for The Condemed, at least not until a friend at school told me it had Steve Austin in it! Sadly, they filmed the crash yesterday and I couldn't make it there. Today was the last day of filming there I'm pretty sure. It was a pretty big deal when we went past and there was a helicopter perched ontop of the headland, everything was blocked off and the public couldn't get very close. I wish I had've known sooner and I would've got some pics. Anyway, just thought I should let you know!
  10. Yeh, it looks pretty cool but you only go up the wall once, as opposed to three or four times on the tornado. I know it would be impossible but has anyone seen those things on ProSlide that look like two enclosed tornados joined up. Oh, and by the way, do we know if it will be enclosed? EDIT: I just checked. The one with two funnels is called the TornadoALLEY.
  11. I think those wave pools are like wave houses that people use instead of surfing. I think they do normal ones as well. Hopefully we will get some nice breaking waves though....
  12. Woooooooo! This is gonna turn out pretty good after all. If they have bowls, a tornado, and possibly a rocket or an octopus racer. Who cares if it's smaller or doesn't have many rides. Thank-you Dreamworld!
  13. The speakers are just queue line speakers like on Mammoth Falls. They play music and have annoying repeating announcements like Gazza said. Those pipes just look like they're half buried, I doubt that they are actually cut in half. It's gonna be a great ride. Dreamworld is going to have to do something special to set them apart. (Hint: Make those stairs wider, people will love you for it!)
  14. It sounded like dreamworld was getting a bowl slide. I might of read it wrong though I'm pretty sure that's what it said. EDIT: Maybe it's a rocket. *Prays To Waterpark Gods* EXTRA EDIT: Look at this pic. Those parts don't look too familiar. Something new hopefully!
  15. Well they look more than half-decent. After a few rides, yes it probably would be boring but at least it's a change. If things turn out good, it might even be a good ride. SW hasn't had a decent upgrade in years IMO and this is a coaster so it can't be that bad can it?
  16. If you only have to wait 15 minutes then you're doing ok. When I was there a few months ago there seemed to be no queue line as far as I could see but when it's busy. Most people would be glad to only wait that long.
  17. It's possible but I can't see them building another rocket coaster after all the money they just spent on SE. It would get confusing and half of the hype about SE is the fact that it is a launched coaster and if SW build another that isn't as high the general public would just see it as a smaller version of SE, therefore not as good. I'm sorry if I have this all wrong, but another rocket just wouldn't be practical. EDIT: I just checked RCDB and I think they take 8 people per car. Whether this makes a big difference in capacity or not though. There are only three in the world so lets hope we get a new one and not a relocated one. Oh, and the halfpipe on top of that place in Japan is 20m. Coincidence. (Hope someone hasn't allready mentioned all of this. If they have, my bad!)
  18. Geez, a 20 metre one would kinda suck. Better then none I s'pose.
  19. Well it could be a half-pipe coaster. They don't seem to take up much space. And it uses a sort of multiple launch system, although it's probably something different. Just wondering, would it be a high capacity ride because it looks like it only fits about 8-10 people?
  20. Yeh, but they must've done the episode before it shut for the winter. I guess... They said something about returning the next day for 1/3 price but I never saw it. They didn't show a whole lot, a bit of rampage, some on-ride of the coaster there but mostly just people screaming. Oh, and power surge and the aqua racer. A bit short but oh well. Sorry, my bad! I always get the two travel shows mixed up. x-)
  21. Hey guys, I know this is short notice and you've probably already heard but..... Tomorrow night, Monday, sometime between 7:30-8:30, on The Great Outdoors, we should be seeing some rides on Channel 9 from Adventure World. Sorry, I would say more but POTC1 is on tv so I'm off!
  22. It's all sounding great, the name's albeit disappointing and I can see some confusion in the future. A Rocket would be amazing, but another tornado, meh....... oooo maybe it will be like Knott's and have a long lead up or something...... anyway that's my bit for now.
  23. Sounds good. I think I remember 'somebody' mentioning the extremely unlikely possibility of an Impulse coaster but anyway.....
  24. Yeh, probably. Isn't that the problem they had a while ago with WWF? IMO they need to majorly update their media gallery. They have a few pics of teens on the ride, one of the tophat and one showing it exiting the tunnel housing the over-banked turn. They have no pics of the actual SDSC. Only a few pieces of concept art, and there's only that pic of WWF shown in the ad. Sure they've got enough Superman Escape pics but they need to let people know what the ride's name actually is! If anyone's got media centre access and has seen the latest 'Adults At Kids Prices' voucher distributed in the mail, you should know what I mean. I've attached a cropped photo of the voucher. I apologise for quality and/or file size. It was taken on my camcorder. (1.7megapixels) EDIT: That's not to say that the media centre isn't doing a good job. The quality of the photos is amazing. About 300dpi.
  25. Maybe they could do one of those mine drop ride thingys like on RCT3.
