TURN ON FOXTEL. RIGHT NOW: TATSU DOCUMENTARY
Gold Coaster replied to Gold Coaster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I know. But I wanted to create a topic quickly for people who had Foxtel & saw the board so they could watch it then and there. -
Discovery Channel, right now as I'm writing this post. A documentary on the building of Tatsu. Been going for 20 minutes, ends at 12.30am

Wet'n'Wild: New 2007 Attraction
Gold Coaster replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Did you hear that? 50 cents! You can go to Orlando on that! -
I haven't done it in years, probably about 10. I can't understand the point of it now really. Ok it's good for families but they should have kept some show going on the island between the Bushranger show going and now. At Disneyland it makes sense because you can look at the stuff on Tom Sawyer's island plus the route actually has an atmosphere but not at Disneyland-wannabe Dreamworld!

An absolutely smashing trip report - one of the best I've read on this board in awhile. Thanks for that. The BRO will be getting an electronic timer installed so Super-8 Aqua Racer will have NOTHING over it.

Screamworld 09th February 2007.

Yep, definitely the most rides ever done at a Screamworld...brilliant night, you really missed out, Daniel. It was funny when we were sitting in the ToT station, the operator kept saying 'Whoops!' while manning the controls. Not the most reassuring thing to hear when you're waiting to be dispatched... -
I've felt slightly nauseous on The Claw (more so if I have done another ride in the last 5 minutes) but never found it unbearable. It's my favourite ride too followed quite closely by Wipeout.

Glad you had a short line for SDSC - that can get unpleasant to have to queue in for extended periods - like Cyclone. River Rapids is great to do from time to time - lame preshow but lovely and cool inside and while the technology is ageing, the whole ride is really well done... the park would definitely lose some of its magic if it was taken out. While the Batman preshow is long, that's kind of the point...it's another stage of lining up but at least you don't have to stand in the queue for the full time with nothing happening. Shrek 4D I absolutely love as I did it in Orlando in Feb 2005 so it's nice to see it cloned perfectly (in terms of preshow, not the building) and to have some of the Universal magic here in Australia. Have NEVER had a churro so will put that on my 'must do' list next to going to the restaurant near Wiggles World. Good to hear you're getting value out of your annual pass.

Screamworld 09th February 2007.

It was good. Met James (dreamworld_rulz) and his sisters. No other r-c.com.au people unfortunately but they were nice. Queue times were quite low all night, Nightmares' Freezer was operating which was quite good but I was at the back so didn't get any scares really - they need to work on that side of things - got heaps of rides in. Didn't watch any Flowrider stuff though, just wandered past a couple of times. No doubt James will post a proper report, I'm feeling too lazy right now so will just respond to points in his. -
Today's games are Super Mario World (SNES, 600 points), Zelda II (NES) - which is actually a side-scrolling action game, not an RPG - 500 points - & a game called Vigilante for Turbografx - 600 points (if you have your Country set to 'United Kingdom'). Vigilante is a side-scrolling beat-em-up game where Madonna has been kidnapped and you must get her back.
-
Glad you had a good day. I haven't been to that Billabong place yet but will have to try it next time. Good to hear you were lucky with the queues too -- would be good if that happened at Screamworld

Gold Coaster replied to dreamworld_rulz's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ Argh, that sucks. It'll be a shame not to have you along. It won't take that long to get/eat the food. Let's just work at getting back to DW in time to meet and all get in the line together at an agreed time. -
Yep, not exactly Homer Simpson size.

^ All I'd imagine they'd do is give you a form and tell you to send it in via the post or fill it in there. Ok. Who else is coming to Screamworld? PEOPLE CURRENTLY ATTENDING - Me - Option A & B, Lisalila - Option A & B James (dreamworld_rulz) - Option A & B DEFINITELY NOT- stardust UNCONFIRMED - katestar Plan is: OPTION A - For Those With Free During Friday Daytime: Hours for individual days are no longer on WhiteWater World website so I have emailed WWW GR for Friday's details. - Meet at Whitewater Water entrance gates a bit before opening time. This'll let us get a good place in the line. Apply sunscreen while waiting for gates to open. - Straight to the lockers, throw stuff in, get in line for the first ride. I would suggest Super Tubes Hydrocoaster as lines get busy very quickly. - Spend the day at Whitewater World. - At closing time, go somewhere nearby for dinner - Subway (just down the road), say - Return to DW for Screamworld if attending OPTION B - Those Just Able To Make Screamworld - Screamworld begins at 6.30PM. - Whitewater World group to meet newcomers somewhat earlier to get good place in line. - At the end of the night, those returning to Gold Coast share a cab back to Surfers. -
4 new Virtual Console games today. NES - Gradius - 500 points Mega Drive - Bonanza Bros, Comix Zone and Gain Ground - 800 points

If it came down to one or the other, Wild! is a lot more enjoyable. As good as Soaked! is, the waterslide lineup is quite basic really. Have a look at the feature set of each one and decide which appeals to you more. The billboards are definitely one of the best expansion additions to date since it allows you to customise your park's look pretty easily without having to make custom scenery.

No one ever responded. If people are interested in helping with this now, then I'd be keen to get it happening. Only issue I can see is people working on the project not having expansions & consequently not being able to see certain bits of scenery or rides.
