  1. Hmmm. If anyone had a real problem about it they would be on the phone to Movie World seeking a direct response to their complaint - For all your sake I hope someone from MW management reads this topic so all your opinions actually go noticed.
  2. Never did I say you don't have the right to portray your opinion, I simply questioned why we are arguing or discussing it here? Ring through your complaint(s) to Movie World guest services where it will reach people who can potentially change the situation! Heres the number go nuts: +61 7 5573 8380
  3. This topic should be retitled "Have a whinge" - It would be nice to have a setup like USS as AlexB mentioned but as I've said previously, Superman has been running with its locker system for several years now and MW also introduced the same system for Green Lantern, theres a very very small chance they will change. I don't see the point in arguing/discussing this?
  4. Last time I rode there was a guy inline with me who had prescription glasses and he was told by the attendant at the queue entrance that he would be able to wear them to the loading gates where the ride attendant will put them in a basket and transfer them to unload, so I don't know why they didn't let Gary86 do the same? Superman has been running with its locker system successfully since its opening - Love it or hate it, I highly doubt Movieworld will introduce the loose item system Dreamworld utilises.
  5. Why do they have lockers/loose items rule? It speeds up loading time - guarantees the riders (and people observing the ride underneath the track) are safe from becoming injured by a loose "flying" object - and last but not least, they make easy money for the park!
  6. Due to them using a cable lift this time I'd say. In one of the testing videos you can see the cable car returning to its starting position after releasing the train.
  7. Yes, Yes I know. Well really the meefog on JR is exactly the same system that was used on Batwing - I'm going to guess the water/condensation didn't play nice with the sensors/electronics. This screen (in theory) shouldn't be too much (if any) of a hassle for the park
  8. I was going to reply with "but all they have to supply it with is water and electricity" then I though "wait the same requirements were needed for the steam system on superman escape...oh and the meefog on batwing" Hahah! MW prove us wrong.
  9. It also looks like Sally Corp has some experience incorporating Fogscreens into their attractions http://www.fogscreen.com/wp-content/uploads/Reference-Case-Sally-Corporation.pdf
  10. Smoke screens (Or more commonly known as a "Fogscreen") are created using 'ultrasonic fog' which is forced into a laminar air flow creating a projection surface. Its used on rides such as Harry Potter and the forbidden journey and Pirates of the Caribbean. Little clip explaining how they work: Davy Jones projection on POTC at Disneyland:
  11. No modern dark ride is complete without a good smoke screen projection effect Sounds completely incredible. Thanks for the find Cruiseshipfan!
  12. Sounds like Sally Corp are going to employ the squinching (prospective shifting) technique/effect after all to 'blend-in' the real 3D sets with the CGI ones. The wording at the end of this sentence sounds like a hint to me. Can expect a climax/finale with a falling element? (possibly similar to the Spiderman/Transformers rides?) All VERY exciting news! Anyone interested in this whole squinching effect can take a look at the video below. Jump to 1:45
  13. Ride a Wooden Coaster and then you might have an argument - Till then your negative perspective on this topic has absolutely no substance.
  14. Going off your attitude toward them I'm going to guess you haven't been on one. I think you should keep your judgment until you actually ride a modern wooden coaster - I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  15. That's just not true. Some of the best coaster experiences are provided by Wooden Coasters.
  16. A Wooden Coaster would defiantly fit in well near the log ride - Balder at Liseberg (Intamin - Prefab) was built in 2003 at round 9-10mill which dreamworld could possibly afford. The only problem I see (and its been mentioned by others on the forums) is the upkeep costs of a Wooden Coaster
  17. I don't think the area would be big enough to house a ride like Indiana. Although on the topic of the Indiana Jones ride, there has been a rip-off called 'Pharaohs Fury' at Lotte World and it looks to be pretty well done too!
  18. I think this interactive dark ride does a great job seamlessly incorporating the 3D screens within the real-life sets (obviously the JL sets won't be as huge as they are within this ride but you get the idea) - I'm praying movie world will do something similar with JL. In regards to the track system, although trackless would be great, I'd much rather prefer them to spend the money on theming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eroar7OlCLE&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGmaPf7FUP8&feature=relmfu
  19. The article clearly states the woman is from Pimpama.
  20. The integration of the projection screens within the paint job scene are completely amazing - Technically amazing
  21. Stats from todays GC Bulletin - Manufacturer: Sally Corp. Cost: $9 million Track length: 200m including 8 3-D screens, 16 animatronic characters and 20 themed cars. Points will be displayed on the cars and on a leader board at the end of the ride. The highest possible score is 350,00, achieved by destroying all 250 aliens.
  22. Talking about water shows, check out Efteling's new night time spectacular 'Aquanura': Definitely the best Ive seen outside of WOC and songs of the sea
  23. @RichardWilliamCollins I know your trying to be funny and all but your posts are starting to seem a little homophobic. And on top of that, as 'aussienetman' mentioned, the Green Lantern which has be relaunched as a gay character is NOT the Green Lantern the ride is based on so your posts about the whole Homosexual topic are insignificant.
