  1. With the rush of Christmas and other announcements , this one flew under the radar. The Big Banana in Coffs Harbour has revealed plans for a $50 million dollar expansion to be timelined over the next 20 years. The article states; Another article regarding the expansion is here: This is fantastic news for the Mid North Coast destination and shows particular faith in the region by the developer and owner, especially since the Coffs Centre is due to be bypassed and completed by 2024. The attractions that are laid out here add to the already existing attractions. Of particular importance here is of course the Water Park expansion- which is sorely needed. This will add to an already extremely popular attraction and in my personal opinion , should be the main thrust of the park in regards to any expansion. The Plantation Roller Coaster I suspect ( and fingers crossed) will most likely be Australia's first Alpine coaster installation. If this proves to be correct then this will certainly lift the status of the park to a must do destination for those travelling between Sydney and the Gold Coast. Coupled with its already exisiting Toboggan slide , this will add a good variety of attractions for the entire family and will certainly warrant a visit on the way up or down from the Gold Coast or even for a getaway by itself. The Coffs Region has plenty of natural beauty and interests to offer ( such as White Water Rafting on the nearby Nymboida River) and will stand on its own in the amusement park landscape of Australia. Looking forward to hearing and seeing these plans in greater depth and as they unfold. https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7067929/big-banana-20-year-master-plan-revealed-as-canberra-based-owners-receive-50m-investment/#:~:text=brewery and restaurant.-,Beyond 202 https://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/20-year-expansion-plan-announced-for-coffs-harbours-the-big-banana/

  2. This news pleases me. If they bring back the Billabong Bunyip as part of the water park redevelopments (the lagoon appears to be part of the upgrades) then I'll be very happy.

  4. ''Immerse yourself in an All new, all year round attraction like no other in the southern hemisphere! Take a photo, tag ur friends (if you dare) as you traverse the twsited tracks of the abandoned Arkham Asylum. For a small upcharge ($100), guest will be able to harness up and walk the tracks of what was formerly the tallest, fastest and longest Roller Coaster of it's type in southern Queensland. Coming Summer 2021"

  6. I checked this out yesterday afternoon. Basically no wait aside from the cleaning between cycles. The carvings and sculpts in the area look very sleek and high quality, but maybe the area is a little too modern and vanilla. If they were going for new Atlantis, it would have been cool if it had remnants of the old Atlantis that had been built over and modernised. The landscaping looks good. Not big on the bins. Lots of water everywhere, on the walls around the ride, but also at the queue near the head of the queue where you enter the ride the ride envelope, which actually causes a bit of overspray. The cycle is okay, but too short....It needs about one extra full revolution and a couple times where it stops and has you swinging to feel truly rounded out. By and large this will never have more than a two cycle wait, so they should not be afraid to run a longer programme. Not all fountains are in use, you can see silver/black holes in the pool floor for extra jets (much easier to see when riding looking down, this photo aint great) This place will be seagull city. They should add the brushes seen on a soldiers helmet but do it with bird spikes.
