  1. A nice picture posted of the Baldwin on the Dreamworld Railway Appreciation Club Facebook group. Its always nice to see some old photos of the engines and park. Makes you wonder what else is out there, hiding in peoples photo albums. Engine is running this weekend (well according to the Website). Anyone going?
  2. I'd say brave it and go to DW, that is what I would do. Parking will probably be easier at DW
  3. These things happen, I wouldn't be too concerned OceanGirl. Mind you, i'm curious as to what happened with the train when it broke down? Do you have any more details? They should just bring the steam engine out over the holidays
  4. Well I've been banned for pointing out his stupidity. A shame really, I quite enjoyed correcting him and pointing out his theft of others works. There is a place for some of these Facebook pages for sure, but I'm honestly surprised the parks themselves haven't closed him down for mis-representation.
  5. Wow, it actually resembles a train. Nice work to the developers. I can also see Disney as the inspiration for the engine and carriages. Planet Coaster just went up a notch in my books.
  6. Im holding out hope that the area remains mostly the same, just re-branded to fit the new aesthetics.
  7. I hope it stays, or at worst gets a touch up. It's where I proposed to my now wife a few years back. We would hate to see it significantly altered.
  8. Did anybody make it down there today?
  9. Perhaps it was just a standard breakdown/ evac and it is back to normal now?
  10. Wish I could Dj, sadly I'm working otherwise I would. I'm hoping to be able to go in April when it runs but will see what happens.
  11. Steam should be running this Saturday. Will anybody from here be visiting the park to have a look?
  12. Push's new Profile Pic? Jokes aside, If the monorail is on the way out, it would be very disappointing if the Monorail was to cease operation. Considering it is the first and soon to be the only operating monorail in the country. I have no problems with a complete upgrade though. Also considering this is the parks last transport option and potentially big capacity cruncher, it would be sad and very bad news for the park if the monorail went the way of the dodo.
  13. That article is a year old Batboyd...
  14. Try this on for size. Second photo the left tiger display looks like the old cub display at the entrance to Tiger Island (Kung Fu Panda entry).
  15. A closer shot highlighting the new wood framework. Also worth noting that he big blue erectable shade thing infront of the quarantine area has been replaced with a proper shade structure.
  16. I'm at Dreamworld right now. Cub Kindy are is looking good. There's a new wooden frame around the non hidden parts to the Kevil hill facade suggesting it's going to be hidden. Diesel train is running again (sadly).
  17. I have it on good authority that Cub Kindy will only be a temp installation whilst Tiger Island is out. Expect Tiger Island to return in September pending delays.
  18. Mostly right Alexb. From what I understand following the thread was that the Diesel failed on Monday and was deemed it wouldn't be back up by the following day. Not sure on the time of day. Steam engine commenced operation on Tuesday, the following operating day post the diese failure. Thats how I see it anyway.
  19. It's good to see someone cares enough to say "hey, this thing is broken, we aren't scheduled to run the Baldwin today, or tomorrow, but hey, let's do it because steam is better in general but also better than nothing". Its promising signs from a park that not long ago was happy to strip as much authenticity as possible from the place.
  20. A friend posted on Facebook that the Baldwin is running today at the park. It's nice to be hearing that it's getting out and about more often.
  21. I have seen the show at Discovery Kingdom, and whilst I like the idea of stadium style seating for their shows, I hope they don't follow the Discovery Kingdom style as it would be a shame to only see these animals from behind glass, and only in a "performance". The thing that I love about the current setup is the open view of the enclosure, and the walk through like Nature of the island. We will see.
  22. Good news re the White Tiger cubs. Its nice to see some new white genes enter the gene pool at the park. Back on topic for 2016, the half year results have been released from Ardent > http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20160217/pdf/4353909jytq3vz.pdf The biggest of note is that Tiger Island closes for the big refurb in March, but also Payment Plans and Tiered passes are mentioned in the report.
  23. And in this case, according to the latest Half Year Results Presentation from Ardent includes switching to a tiered pass membership scheme in March.
