  1. They need to try something because nothing else has worked. OR Dreamworld could try listening to the non 0.00000000000001% of people who love paying for shaded seating.
  2. That was not a logical review. This is a huge disappointment and the added effect make it feel cheap. My first thoughts were, MW went to Aldi on a Wednesday super special day. If MW did a line up with opening day Version 1 ride and version 2.0 nobody would give 2.0 a look in.
  3. Sounds like DW going with their standard construction methods for Sky Voyager here. Hit it with a hammer. A bit of magic. Pray a bit. Fuck it.
  4. @Jdude95 Last week I was robbed by a China man and I knew this because when I got home my homework was done, my computer was upgraded, but 2 hours latter the f**ker was still trying to reverse out of my driveway. I would like a Wacky Worm Coaster for adults only.
  5. Two years ago, DW had a different CEO with a different plan. The new CEO's plan was to remove it by the end of the year. The sudden announcement indicates to me, during maintenance DW thought it wasn't worth spending the money that was required to keep it going for another 6 months. With DW knowing the Wipeout was "not long for this world" the structured replacement and lifecycle program is the shaded seating. ( @AlexBmissing 3 days on Parkz is like missing a lifetime of information)
  6. Watching some news and eating my chicken wings on Saturday night and who do you think jumped on my T.V. to torment me? The one and only @Jdude95 I do have to say; all my training has paid off and @Jdude95 carried himself very well. Now all we need is a cure for his post-nasal drip.😊
  7. A new entry to the theme park is positioned to be in close proximity to The Broadwater pathway, ferry terminal and new resort. A plaza between the theme park entry and resort provides a comfortable environment for visitors to gather while waiting to enter the theme park, taking in views across The Broadwater. A publicly accessible boardwalk extends along The Broadwater edge providing access to and views of the water, and pedestrian and cycle connections between the Village Centre and the Top of The Spit. Glimpses of the activities in Sea World can be obtained from the boardwalk. A node of activity is located at the intersection of The Broadwater pathway and the east-west pathway, accommodating a cafe offering views of the water and providing a rest stop along The Broadwater pathway.
  8. "Chris, where are you going with that grease gun" "I'm going to grease up the Wipeout's nipples Ben" "Stop right there, I'm not having that going on in my park. Close it down"
  9. I blame @Jdude95 John Osborn is no CEO. John Osborn has been promoted to the spin doctor.
  10. What were you doing in 1993? It was a big year for Dreamworld as it was the year that one of our much-loved thrill rides WipeOut opened. WipeOut is the oldest of Dreamworld’s collection of thrill rides and after a little over 25 years of service it is time for WipeOut to retire. Although WipeOut will be going into retirement, Dreamworld still has more than 40 rides, slides and attractions including thrill rides Hot Wheels Sidewinder, Tower of Terror II, Giant Drop, Buzzsaw, The Claw, Pandamonium and Tailspin. There are also many new and old family-friendly rides, a water park, LEGO store, one of Australia’s largest collections of native animals, a world-class tiger conservation precinct and a celebration of Indigenous culture and history, making Dreamworld Australia’s largest and most diverse theme park. Following a significant amount of feedback from loyal guests, Dreamworld has decided to convert the area currently occupied by WipeOut into a ‘chill space’ featuring shading and seating. Dreamworld CEO, John Osborne said, “during the long hot summer we received regular feedback from our guests that they would like more shaded areas and comfortable seating in close proximity to our dining areas and major rides. “The retirement of WipeOut presents a great opportunity to provide such an area in a very convenient and central location,” he added. “We continue to look at opportunities for further investment into the park, and have some exciting news to announce next week, as well as the opening of our world-class flying theatre Sky Voyager coming soon.” Thank you to our millions of guests who have taken on the challenge of flipping, spinning, twisting and tumbling on WipeOut since it opened in December 1993. Share your WipeOut memories on Instagram using #wipeoutmemories to farewell this old favourite. Vintage cars is now shit. Log Ride is now shit. Train is now shit. Replacing Wipeout with shaded seating is another slap in the face for DW guest.
  11. DW is doing away with all ride operators and pilots will now be giving the role to operate the rides. So, pilots are my guess.
  12. If Village lodged the same carpark approval today, council would also not approve it. Council only follow what is written in legislation. People can't object to a hotel because the 2016 Town plan was purposefully changed to allow MW to build a hotel. As long as the hotel has < 400 Bedrooms < 27m in height > 30m from front boundary It would be a standard approval. If MW wanted to do something else----- all bets off. (as I quickly read it)
  13. I didn't bullshit meter the whole post. I bullshit metered DW was always planning to replace all managers. I gave you an example with Craig Davidson . It doesn't matter who's right or wrong and I'm not saying you're incorrect. What does matter is what people are perceiving what is going on and many people believe Ardent/DW is making the same bad decisions they have always made.
  14. Nobody has said it's new. DW been banging on for over a year about the aviation industry and how DW has the best of the best. As I said DW made the announcement as a marketing ploy. Newly created role wink, wink. What happened to our friend Holly? (Oh yeah, another employed person with no theme park experience ) Craig Davidson entered the inquest believing nothing was his fault. (Oh yeah, another employed person with no theme park experience. That ended well) )
  15. The problem is if the engineer gives incorrect information or doesn't communicate the information correctly we end up with Mr Hogan making assessments on thin air. Mr Hogan has been employed to give guest a false sense of security. It’s written all over DW’s media release that this is a marketing ploy. “Aviation is one of the safest industries in the world thanks to strict governance and regulations” Mr Hogan is from the aviation industry so now DW is safe. I can't name MW's General Manager of Engineering. The best of the best is not this and DW promised us the best of the best.
  16. I've attached a plan from the final judgment that "might" be close to the final layout. (having major issues seeing the judgment because Adobe giving me pages of boxes)
  17. Cross contamination of skills can be useful but when somebody doesn't have any knowledge of proven standards & procedures you end up with cages on Log Rides when there is already a better way in dealing with the problem. Ben Hogan has no base to guide him with decision he makes with amusement rides so every time he does something he will be reinventing the wheel.
  18. Sound attenuation for neighboring properties. I don't believe a bridge has been designed. It's only a condition at this stage. The plan I have attached isn't the amended plan with the 111 reduction in carparks.
  19. VRS Holdings Pty Ltd took City of Gold Coast to court to resolve the overflow carpark. Earlier this week the appeal was resolved in favour of the development of the proposed carpark by Movie World on their Kopps Road property. The Court Order regarding the appeal is available on line, however the changes from what was initially proposed include:- - concessions regarding the number of bays (774 now 663); - Sound attenuation - pedestrian bridge access (required before use commencement). - improved landscaping, fencing and signage conditions. - security, lighting and hours of operation. Ultimately after several Alternative Dispute Resolution meetings (and experts providing advice) there were insufficient grounds remaining for the City to successfully defend its refusal.
  20. Hang on. DW already said they had the best of the best last year. Now a year latter the best of the best isn't the best of the best so they hire a new best of the best. How many best of the best are out there and why do all the best of the best want to work at DW? How come the best of the best have never worked on a ride in their life?
  21. No need to keep what you have to yourself Brady boy. We are all friends here.
  22. Dumbo the Flying Elephant will be open at Disneyland between the hours of 9.00am to 8.00pm tomorrow.
